The boy had set his alarm to awake him nice and early that morning so he would have all the time he needed to prepare himself for what he was about to do, for there had been no time in his life where he needed to look as smart as he did today. He spent an extra ten minutes in the shower and nearly an extra half an our in front of the mirror making sure that his hair, clothes and stances was right. He did not want to look undressed nor shabby, this day could change the boys life after all.Â
Behind him a small black kitten jumped up onto his bed, its round green eyes looking at him as he changed shirts yet again. The kitten gave him a soft meowing sound, the boy looked round at it and smiled softly, if the kitten liked this shirt then this is the one he would wear. "Thank you Lizzy" he said stroking the female cat as he passed to go into the kitchen, once in the oddly clean room he made a small cup of ear grey and looked at the time.Â
05:15 AMÂ
The boy gave a sighed, washed the cup up and stroked his kitten goodbye before leaving the small flat that he shared with her. With the door now locked he headed out into the street, where he found nothing but fog and grumpy early morning commuters. He slide his small hands into his pockets and headed down the road, he walked with his head down and within ten minutes of walking he found out just how thick this fog was. With a loud course he tripped over a trash bin, he swept the dust from his clothes and walked on a new frown a pone his face.Â
He arrived at the small cake shop only to find the boss was not yet in, with a small sigh and roll of the eyes the boy sat in the chair the odd man had pointed to and waited for him to arrive. To the boys surprise he was not waiting long at all, a tall rather hansom man entered and he got to his feet, making sure to stand straight and smart to make a good first impression. The male walked over to him and when he spoke Ciel took it all in and found his voice almost dreamy. "My name is Ciel Phantomhive Sir and i was hoping you would give me a job" he said holding a hand out for the other male to shake if he wanted to. He kept his voice calm and confident, hoping that today would be the day he got the job he needed so badly.Â
This young male seemed rather excited, perhaps way too much excited for Sebastianâs own liking. If there was anything in specific that he did not enjoy was someone licking his own shoes and this boy seemed to perform it quite nicely. Nevertheless, Sebastian would give this boy a chance, although he was pretty confident that the male would soon ruin it all. He soon started his own little investigation of the person before him. It seemed that he had attempted to arrange himself properly for a job interview, so for that he rather deserved some points in the dark haired maleâs consideration. He held his hand and greeted the blue haired boy with a tight hand shake. "Why yes, we were in need of an extra worker. Though do not believe that I am going to simply handle you the job like this. In order for you to get it, you will have to prove me that you are capable of doing at least the basics." He quickly turned around and took his coat off, placing it or the closest hanger he could find. Looking back at the boy, crimson and sapphire met and he gave him a sign so that he could follow Sebastian right into the kitchen. "So as you are seeing, this is our kitchen. It is not too grandiose but it is big enough for a few workers. We are mainly specialized at baking cakes, though another sort of sweets can be made too if they are ordered. If you are going to work here I need to know what you are experienced in. You can be for example be a decorator, or simply another baker it is up to you." He stated as he grabbed a white apron and immediately put it on, giving another to Ciel so that he could put it on as well. He grabbed some utensils, sugar, eggs, flour and many others elements that Ciel could possibly need. He placed them on the table in front of the boy and gave him some space, crossing his arms as he exhibited a sneaky smirk. "Well then, would you show me what you are capable of performing, Ciel? Surprise me will you?" At such young age, Sebastian pondered about whether Ciel would be able to please him either in taste or visual aspect, for he knew that he was a hard one to impress.
Ciel eyed the older male the hole time he was standing there, was this male judging him? OR was he simply seeing is Ciel had the right look to be asking for a job in this shop. Never the less Stood, listened and did as he was told every time Sebastian has said nor done something.Â
He was at first a little taken about by the abruptness of being told to make something, but then again the small boy had been awaiting this and had spend meany weeks working up to this and was confident he knew what he was doing and that he could do well enough to get him this job and even wipe that dame smile off Sebastian's face.Â
He took the apron and slide it on, making sure it was done up tight as to not get in the way but still keep him clean. He went over to a sink and washed his hands, dried them and then came back over to the side. He spend a few moments examining what Sebastian had given him before smiling and starting to make one of the things he new would make him seem rather good.Â
After about 20 minutes it became clear that Ciel was making Red Velvet Cup Cakes. He was working well, everything was done as it was meant to and being small made it easy for him to make things to net and rather dainty. He worked with a small frown on his face, moving around the kitchen with easy as he made the cakes with out a recipe. They where now in the oven and he was washing what he had used and getting out what he would need to decorate them.Â
Another 20 minutes and Ciel slide the finished cakes towards Sebastian, everything was washed and the kitchen looked as it did before he had started but with the added Cakes on the side. Ciel had made ever part of the cake by hand, nothing had been pre-made nor packet made, "i hope you enjoy then" he said bowing his head to him a little.Â
