the more i go on with this season, the more of a … clunky attempt at a second season it becomes. i do not find myself happy nor necessarily dreading another episode, but, it’s hard to make out what it is they are trying to do with daryl. he is experiencing some sort of development of some form, but it only seems circumstantial to me.

it doesn’t seem like something that will stick with him when he finally finds his way home, IF he finds his way home at this rate with how many hiccups there are in his road.

his reunion with carol, that devotion to that woman has just been eradicated. they do not feel like best friends, they do not feel like the carol and daryl that we know. their relationship and how much they mean to one another felt so undermined and this is absolutely incredulous. it was underwhelming and carelessly dealt with.

so, i’m stuck wondering, what happened?

kind of on the fence about watching the new season due to the recent leaks of daryl and isabelle. i’m fairly disappointed. i’d say that 14 years spent developing this character was thrown out of the window just for a cheap shot at a love interest. i’m so disheartened, i wish that carol reunited with daryl at the very least before this was so carelessly written in. :,)

to piggyback off of my previous post, i’m presenting this edit i made some time ago to capture the essence of daryl’s further alienation pre and post beth’s death, creeping into the introduction of alexandria and how he found it difficult to grow accustomed to being apart of a community once more, taking on this role of an outsider.
