Mary Oliver, from “Franz Marc’s Blue Horses”, Devotions
Pain, if sanctified, creates tenderness toward others.
Charles Spurgeon
Misery loves company also applies to sin. You have been redeemed through Christ, get up! Do not let guilt or shame keep you from Him.
Our Lord is most merciful.
your hand on his cheek—you run your hand on his cheek. this is scripture’s only premise
Someone's waiting for you to fulfill your purpose
One of my favourite parts of Orthodox theology is that, not only does it say "no, non-Christians are not categorically damned" it follows that up with "and no, we're not citing a prooftext from the Scriptures or the Fathers for that, the only evidence we need for this is that God is good and loves mankind."
Guys, always remember to pray for your enemies, even if they seem like horrible people, it's the best we can do.
I hope everyone grows tired of being cruel to each other soon
God is inevitable ♡
Mary Oliver from Blue Horses, 2014
“i didn’t intend to start thinking about god, / it just happened. / how god, or the gods, are invisible, / quite understandable. / but holiness is visible, entirely.”
