A drop of Memories/Armand's forgotten memories
Since he is a religious painter and monk in the books I imagined that his series version could be a dancer and a musician to honour the gods.
my literature teacher said today that wells symbolize womanhood and several biblical figures have met their wives at wells and meeting at a well has a meaning. i can't stop thinking about the fact that they met at a well. this is not a coincidence

The stereotype of the nerd girl taking her glasses off and suddenly she's beautiful, but in reverse. A cold tough mean office lady who glares at everyone until she gets glasses and suddenly becomes sweet, approachable and friendly since she no longer has a constant headache over not being able to fucking see, doesn't need to squint at everything, and actually remembers individual people by name now that she can tell them apart at all.
like this OP?
heavily reducing armand’s role when you’re adapting the vampire lestat (1985) by anne rice is like jesus fucking christ this is such an egregiously offensive way of going about it for several reasons because it should be frankly impossible to just methodically remove a character pivotal to exploring all its themes (which the show never bothers to touch on lol!) from the story but it’s also really fucking racist. like one would think it should be impossible to write him out at least for the bare bones reasons of how heavily he’s triangulated with gabistat and nickistat and loustat but okay they won’t even do that + they strip him of material acknowledging his interiority, I don’t know why I assumed they’d begin to at least touch on how it’s fucking crazy that he wouldn’t be significantly impacted by the fact that modern oriental studies were particularly spearheaded by france (and britain) as an extension of their colonial projects in the early 19th century and how france was heavily invested in protecting its colonial interests in asia in the preceding decades and that it reconciled its paradoxical approach to liberty & equality and lack of interest in demolishing its colonial projects by originating theories of race that justified placing (white) europeans at the top of a hierarchy of races and attributing character & genetic defects to people of colour with darker skin but sure okay let’s just never spend time exploring the ramifications of that for armand apart from a throwaway line or two in s2 acknowledging that he’s capable of experiencing racism which the fandom ignores anyway surely that’s enough activism for the day.
INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE (2022-) | S03E04
Armand killed Claudia, but he didn't fail her. Here, I've said it. He wasn't her maker, her parent, her brother. He didn't like her and she knew it. Armand chose the cult he was abused into for 400+ years over a girl he knew for half a year and actively disliked. It was a cruel murder, but it wasn't really a betrayal, because there wasn't anything to betray between them. If anyone had betrayed Claudia it was Louis who had chosen this man (yet another man) instead of her and told him she was a burden, it was Lestat, her father, who actively participated in her execution. But somehow the most evil one is someone who had never claimed to love her, a stranger who (shocker!) chose to let her die to save himself. Why was he expected to be more gracious and noble than the others?
And here I must put the obligatory "I don't condone his actions, I know he is evil, They all are evil etc", but I'm kinda fed up with this shit. Sorry, I expect people to understand nuance and not cry "You woobify Armand!" at every post where he is not seen as a 100% evil. And let's be real, a lot of people hating Armand don't really give a fuck about Claudia and just use her as an excuse to laugh at racist jokes about a CSA victim.
