Hello Post!

Hey, welcome in.

I’m HistorianRoo, my friends call me Roo, named after the little kangaroo in Winnie the Pooh. I am a disabled person currently thriving in college as a Music History Student (my main focus is tchaikovsky, PLEASE ask me about it I would love to talk about him at all times).

I have multiple fandoms I have written for all of which can be found on my ao3: https://archiveofourown.org/users/HistorianRoo/pseuds/HistorianRoo . Fics that can be found on here: a one shot series about Hermitcraft’s Double Life called “Now, Not Yet”, some oneshots for various marvel fandoms, and good omens!

MY MAIN PROJECT:

My main project is an original fiction book about Atlantis. This is the tumblr link. Which has an in-progress conlang, as well as queer characters! And its historical fantasy.

good omens finale (spoilers ahead)

okay my thoughts about the finale is simply

i liked it.

because it felt like a full circle moment.

In season one, Crowley wants to run away when the world is about to end. In season two, it's the same.

But season three?

Crowley chooses to sacrifice himself, not run away.

He chooses the world over himself. And while he was always an empathetic demon, he was still someone who chose himself.

And he didn't even know if he would exist again!!!

And he did!!!

He and Aziraphale got their ending!!! Together, for all of their lives.

Even if that life is just the length of a human life.

It ended like "The Good Place" and I think that that is why I liked it so much.

just watched Mrs. Harris goes to Paris (as it's due to leave Netflix in 3 days, and I thought well... why not?) and it turned out to be the best feel-good movie I've seen in years. nothing about human viciousness or cruelty — just kindness and absolute beauty all around. It strung a chord in me, because I used to be a haute couture fiend in my younger days, and this movie just blends all that fine delight with the sweetest, warmest sparkle of fairy tales...! the soundtrack is absolutely lovely, as well; again, very fairytale-like. what a precious, sweet little thing.

Not to be that person but I think we need a middle ground on #problematic historical authors

You can’t just hand wave “they were of their time” when they were nonethless bigoted and conservative for the time or discount that many present readers find this uncomfortable to read but likewise, we cannot just purge influential authors from the canon and both approaches prevent actual discussion of how prejudice actually manifests in fiction because they both agree that just not talking about it is the best approach

Shouldn't large amounts of old and disabled people in a country be the sign of good? That means that your healthcare is at least good enough to keep disabled people alive and for a long time.

If all the people in a society are able bodied then you failed as a society because it means all your disabled people have died
