It’s like looking at the sunset and not taking a picture bc you don’t need one to remember that moment. It’s like listening to a song associated with bad feelings and knowing that you’re stronger now. It’s like being lost in a book for a solid hour bc that’s more important than stressing. It’s like thinking about the seasons progressing and feeling reassured that life does go on, and you can too. It’s like putting on an outfit you’ve worn a million times before and feeling extra cute for no reason. It’s like texting a friend you haven’t talked to for awhile and having a nice conversation. It’s like knowing a secret that’s dear to you, and holds a special meaning for you. It’s like being wrapped up in your oldest blanket and binge watching your show.

But It’s also like waking up with a steady weariness and knowing you’ll live on. It’s like knowing you’ve relapsed but your previous victories are /still valid/. It’s like knowing you’ve written the most personal poem yet, but being relieved bc you’ve gotten those thoughts out. It’s like looking at the faint scars on your wrist and being reminded of how strong you are to have gotten here today, instead of how weak you were a day, week, month, year ago.
