Stanley wakes up in a hospital after the Parable and finds out it was all a fever/coma dream. The reality, however, feels like a nightmare without the omnipotent voice. Yet still, the Narrator wasn't just a product of Stanley's fantasy :)

note: I really love angst with a happy ending, their co-dependency is well described here. Also, spoiler alert(?), Stanley is an artist and The Narrator a scriptwriter.

They eventually become pen pals, and Stanley only hopes his relationship with Nigel will fill the hole in his heart from losing the Narrator.

note: Your classic romcom with silly misunderstandings and lots of crying. To balance it, there's fluff and also a bit of domesticity to feast on! :D The scenes are sweetly written. Kept me sane in the mornings.
