Yep, I’m not dead yet. First drawing in quite some time... For those who may be wondering why I’ve gone quiet as of late - I’ve been very busy with typical life events. I spent June visiting my best friend in London, and upon returning home I jumped straight into a new full time job - which has been great, but quickly took up all of my free time. On top of what was becoming a 45+ hr/week job, my commute to and from work took 2 1/2 hours out of my day, 5 days a week. I quickly became utterly exhausted and nearing breaking point - I don’t think people realise how much a long commute can take it out of you, unless you’ve experienced it for extended periods of time. I literally did not have any energy for anything besides work. Fortunately, the stars aligned and I managed to secure an apartment with my sister much closer to work! After what felt like an extremely long 6 week settlement, we finally moved in, and after nearly a month of living here I’m finally starting to get back into my old routine (pre-exhaustion). I’m still trying to figure out how to fit in drawing, posting, and filming amongst my full-time job (I literally squeezed this sketch in after breakfast and before work), but I’m hoping that I can spend the next year or so learning from this job, saving up some money, doing a bit of art on the side, and then hopefully being set-up nicely to be able to focus more on my own art again after then :) (Inspiration from the beautiful @chloemorello) #ipadprosketch#portraitsketch#digitalillustration#chloemorello#digitalart#portraitillustration (at Sydney, Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/BsXlE6rh_jQ/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=16al99cogor1k
