THE BRINK. frank/sadie

Most everyone was asleep. 

The camp was quiet and calm: the only noise was the faint snoring of one of the exhausted archaeologists a few tents over. Frank was feeling uneasy. He knew this was the calm before the storm. 

Something terrible waited for all of them in Hamunaptra. 

There were some many innocent lives at stake; so many of them had no idea what was coming. Hunters kept their knowledge close to the vest. It only caused panic, at the best, if you said anything and, at the worst, they’d lock you up; certain you were insane. 

He knew there was nothing they could say, now, that would convince the others. And when they finally could, would it be too late to save them? 

“We’re getting close,” Frank said, his voice, though soft and low, cut through the silence of the night.

!!!!!  OMG I did not even think of this (and I wrote the character list #BYE hahahah) and I love it!!!  In that case, (esp if he’s posed as an archeologist before!) I def think they’re friends and have been for awhile now.  And I can def see the three of them getting up to nonsense together!  Alos honestly I’m laughing bc cue Margo nearly almost being killed by some vamp or something while researching and Olivia and Frank keep her alive…wo her ever knowing #facepalm also:

frank: margo, no! don’t go into that cave!

margo: why not?

olivia: it’s haunted

margo: haha good one, guys *goes in*

the cave: *is literally haunted*

Annnnyway, yes!  I feel like in this case they’ve probs been friends for awhile?  Margo likes to keep her archeology buddies close, esp in case she needs some extra archeologists on any given dig.

HAHAH that kind of thing happens to me all the time #facepalm (its what happens when we write too many characters lol) 

OMG I’m crying you know that that kind of thing has happened pretty much every time she and frank have worked together??? actually i’m sure it’s happened every time b/c the only time frank ever works as an archeologist is when he’s investigating some place that might be haunted nearby a dig or something HAHAH. 

also i’m laughing b/c if margo knows him socially, too, through olivia she’s probably like “omg frank is a jack of all trades!” b/c like the winchesters I feel like he often poses as like a doctor or a cop or something haha and i feel like it is hard to have friends who don’t know about your ~secret~ and keep up all the lies so margo probably knows him as this guy who jumps trades a lot lmao (which probably actually also helps w/ his cover b/c he does know a little about archeology aka enough to get by but he def does  nOT know nearly as much as an actual archeologist should)

hi there jenn!! that’s totally cool with me. so there has to be something about frank that maybe makes andrew ticked off at times? the thing that usually gets him is when he can’t understand the motive behind people’s actions or see the logical side of anyone’s behavior. he’s also pretty straight-forward when it comes to conversations, which isn’t always everyone’s favorite type and i see him as a ticking time bomb when he’s been angered. i also wouldn’t really say that he is easily hurt by people he’s not close to, so maybe we could create some sort of history? idk. i’m really down for anything. even if that means they aren’t rivals? :3

oOOH! I love the idea that maybe they’ve got some kind of history??? Perhaps they’ve hunted with each other before and it went badly somehow that left them both upset with each other?? or at least andrew upset with frank??? also I can see frank perhaps doing something w/o explaining himself to andrew? I’m not sure what, but maybe something that looks bad w/o an explanation???? like he promised x person he wouldn’t tell anyone y, so he’s not gonna break his word, even if it gives andrew a bad impression on him???? idk i really love miscommunication plots b/c they COULD be friends if they just talked to each other haha. but I’m honestly up for whatever?????

lolol but in all seriousness i luv the idea of them going after the same creature in a foreign land and howard showing up at the right time when frank’s in a predicament like “funny we keep running into each other huh francis?” [frank narrowly missing the creature’s claws(?)] “hilarious” 

i’m also super curious about frank’s revenge arc?? has frank gotten his sweet justice or is he still going after the creature that killed his fam? i imagine if he’s still avenging his fam howard would 110% be on board and keep him updated with sightings/recent whereabouts of the creature. either way the thing i luv most about these two is that they have a lot going on under the surface but are genuinely kind and care for those around them?? *wipes tear* luv these 2 hunter bros

okay so I keep going back and forth on that, but ultimately I think I’ve settled on frank having found and killed the creature that got his family. maybe he and frank actually took it out together???? and after it was done there was some sense of relief that it was over but frank was probably also like “now what??” @ his life and that’s when howard recruited him officially into the gresham hunter squad??? altho i can see frank trying to go back to his normal life for a hot second afterwards but he realized he could never quite go back to that life especially now that he knows what’s really out there and that he could do something to stop it. haha maybe at first he turned down howard’s invite but then eventually decided to come back and that’s when he learned martial arts and then showed up like “hi i’m a total badass now” ;DDD 

but omg i love these two hunter bros so much!!!! especially since i think howard has probably saved frank in more ways than one and it hurts (in a good way)

so frank and andrew are rival hunters, but honestly I don’t think frank really agrees that andrew and his crew should leave??? like he figures they can use all of the help and expertise that they can get ++ frank is just naturally a peacemaker haha and I feel like he’s just like “why can’t we just all get along????” so yeah, I don’t think he's trying to get andrew/harold/sam to leave like the other hunters are haha

so frank adores his fellow hunters!!! he lost his family to the supernatural and I think he’d be so lost w/o all of them now && he’s def adopted them all as his new family (whether they like it or not lol). anyway, so he def loves sadie a lot and adores all of her stories (altho sometimes i can see him getting a little Dad Friend on her like “that sounds super dangerous!!! maybe next time you should do x thing instead of y!!!” b/c yeah he knows that they are all super capable but he worries ;) )

okay so I don’t think frank has been interested in anyone since the death of his wife and I also don’t think that he ever expected to be???? but then there’s lizzie and she’s so bright and intelligent and beautiful and lively and he doesn’t even have a chance at NOT falling for her hahah

that being said i don’t think he’d eVER say anything to her??? mostly b/c of his occupation which is obviously super dangerous and not that great if you wanna have a relationship ahaha. so yeah for now I think he just wants to be her friend but most of all wants to make sure she makes it through this experience w/ her life hahah

Ok, so these two are friends!!!  Do you think they met on via this trip, etc, and are new friends or do you think they’ve known each other for some time, now?  I love both, so I’m cool either way!  Regardless, as I mentioned before, Margo is highkey in love with this whole thing and is beyond pumped to get things rolling and she’s so pleased w having this whole team and everything together <333333333

I actually think that its pretty possible that they’ve known each other for a little while??? IDK if they’ve been friends for as long or if you think that it has developed over the course of this trip, but I feel like this probably isn’t frank’s first time posing as an archaeologist??? Plus, he’s also hunted w/ Olivia b/f and she and margo are bffs so there’s the social connection as well, possibly????

omg i love cora so much!!!! (so does frank btw) I feel like part of him is wondering if she should be working again so soon after being injured by vamps but he knows better than to voice his concerns to her lol. I think he’ll def keep an extra eye out for her and try to be ~stealth~ about it but it’ll probably be pretty obvious what he’s doing #facepalm

Teammate!!!!  ;DDD  Ok, so I def think that the Gresham Hunters are def Rick’s family essentially and he loves and looks out for all of them!!!!  Though probs in a different way from Frank hahaha  At the same time though, I feel like they have the potential to balance each other and it’s beautiful <3333333

omg but the same!!! for frank!!!!! I feel like when his fam died he was so alone and hate everything haha and was like in this really bad place and def on a suicide mission but then he met the other hunters and I think they probs saved him in more ways than one haha. anyway he loves them all so!!!! much!!!!! and yeah frank def looks out for everyone but especially on an emotional level and aljdflajfladj omg he and rick balancing each other!!! yes!!!! I totally think that they do!!!

so I have a headcannon that frank was going after whatever spn creature killed his family totally blindly and unprepared and tbh he probably was gonna get himself killed too but maybe howard was hunting the same thing and that’s how they first met??? and howard was kinda there to help guide frank??? either way, as his leader, frank respects the heck outta howard!!!!!
