In case anyone hasn't heard, the cyclospora outbreak affecting tons of people in the US right now is coming from Taylor Farms produce. Best to stay away from bagged lettuce and prepared salads completely right now, but especially the ones mentioned in the screenshot:

This is not the first time I've heard about a Taylor Farms foodborne illness outbreak. I stopped eating their salads after reading a description of the conditions in their facilities. Doesn't sound like they've improved anything.

We need a fully funded and staffed FDA, and regulations with teeth - and that's exactly what we don't have under Trump. To make things worse, the CDC is no longer tracking these outbreaks. We're on our own.

Recently a hate group known as "bogorbersihlgbt" committed acts of transmisogynistic violence against 15+ trans women that took place in Bogor, West Java. With our government recently targetting the LGBTQ+ community more and more it's our responsibility to help out those who are most vulnerable to these hate crimes. Existing as a visibly queer person is getting increasingly more dangerous so we must stand for and protect our trans sisters in this sociopolitical climate.

like and the idea that women are 'allowed' to be emotional under patriarchy while men aren't is so wild to me because anyone who's ever been a woman in a workplace knows there's no fucking way you can ever be emotional without basically being shadowbanned from any opportunity for promotion or important assignments/projects forever and ever and ever. any woman can tell you the social punishment for crying or even getting a little emotional in almost any situation. women are expected to be emotional, but they are not free to be emotional. they are punished for it all the same. and yes, certain marginalized men are also forbade from showing emotion because they will be similarly punished.

but my point is that i feel men can and should discuss the issue of shame which stifles men's emotions without pretending we live in a fantasy world where women are exempt from the issue.

"men are shamed for showing emotion" is a true statement, full stop. there's no reason to begin or end it by insisting women, in contrast, are not.

also no one says it but the punchline of "trans inclusive misogyny" is almost always the implicit assumption that transfeminine people do not actually experience misogyny in our day-to-day life. thats why its considered humorous and acceptable to do, rather than just being. misogyny against women.

it shows their absolutely vile views on womenhood as a whole and also their views on specifically trans women.

on women in general, it shows that they think misogyny is deserved, natural even, so much so that it is the default way that all people interact with women. if you exist as a woman, at any possible moment, you can and should be subject to misogyny, and thats normal.

on trans women specifically, it shows they don't actually see us as women. they think we aren't subjected to misogyny on a daily basis. they think we dont experience this behavior already, when it's not as they refer to as a "joke". they think that like themselves, no one in the world could possibly see us as actual women.

therefore, when we are subjected to misogyny, it should be "affirming". its someone briefly winking and nodding at us, saying "ill pretend you're a woman, get back in the kitchen and make me a sandwich". its the belief that they're doing us a favor, that they're being trans positive, even. they think its the same as calling us pretty. after all, they're momentarily treating us the same way they treat every other women.

the worst part is that they're partially right. it can actually feel slightly gender affirming the first time a stranger says your tits look great. but its not as fun the second time. or the third. or the 50th. or the 1000th. they are right, i would rather be called a cunt or a bitch rather than a tranny or an autogynophile. but id much rather not be called any of that. it can feel nice the first time a man hits on you because he finds you attractive (aka fresh meat), instead of hitting you for not being man enough. it gets old real quick having to cover my drink around literally everyone.

people think trans women aren't subjected to misogyny, and that they can be gender affirming by being misogynistic, something that comes so naturally to them that they already do it to all women. but they don't realize that trans women experience transmisogyny - that we suffer through every single thing a cis woman suffers through on a daily basis, and worse on top of that for daring to exist at all.

Tldr Amnesty International, global human rights organisation, published a report called 'A growing threat: the anti-rights movement in the UK'. In it is detailed, amongst others, a whole bunch of transphobic groups and organisations, including Beira's Place, JK Rowling's trans exclusionary sexual violence support service. JK Rowling threw a shit fit and got Amnesty to take the report down by threatening libel. This was obviously not enough, because you can't appease a fascist, so now she's going to bankroll a bunch of lawsuits anyway through the JK Rowling Women's Fund.*
