Nainital Zoo
Nainital Zoo
A high-altitude zoo, which is situated at a height of 2,100 meters (6,900 feet) above sea level on the Sher Ka Danda hill. The zoo occupies 4.6 hectares, or 11 acres, of lush space. It was founded in 1984, and in 1995, it first welcomed guests. In 2002, the zoo’s official name changed to Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant High Altitude Zoo. The Royal Bengal Tiger, Sambar, Tibetan Wolves, Leopard Cat, Barking Deer, Japanese Macaque, and Himalayan bear are just a few of the endangered animals that can be seen at the zoo. The zoo is also home to a variety of birds, including the Red Junglefowl, White Peafowl, Blossom Headed Parakeet, Kalij Pheasant, and Rose-ringed Parakeet. The majority of animals are adopted by either private parties or organizations that promote animals.
