So I was watching “Rating how well elements flatten” videos and it gave me an idea.
I see a lot of people say Senku doesn’t get jealous, and while I can see it and accept that headcanon, my headcanon is that he shows it differently. It comes up in small, subtle ways that, if you don’t know him like the back of your hand, you’ll miss it.
Imagine this: Senku and his S/O are hanging out and Senku is doing his own thing while S/O does theirs. This is pretty typical for them and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
But then he hears S/O giggling, which again, was a normal thing. But he likes to be nosy and see cause they share memes all the time. He walks over and leans over where they are on the couch and goes,
They take out one of their earbuds and look up at him.
“Hm? Oh it’s just this tiktoker. He makes science videos and said something pretty funny. See look!”
Ooh. A science video. They watch those together all the time. Senku watches the video, chuckles a bit, then goes back to what he was doing. Everything is good, but after that day he starts to notice that S/O watches those science videos a whooole lot. And since S/O sends him the videos so much, they start popping up on his feed. And when he opens the comments, the first thing he sees is S/O’s comments.
It’s nothing nefarious or raunchy, just a lot of, “Wow cool!” And, “Oh I didn’t know that!”
And that right there it was irks him. But it doesn’t show in the way you’d think. It shows when he randomly asks S/O if they wanna watch his experiment, or if they wanna see something cool. Which is normal for him, but the frequency at which he asks has increased a bit. And S/O notices. They also notice how he stands a little straighter when showing them. And how he leans a little closer when explaining things to them.
One night, after Senku has shown them another cool experiment, S/O is lying on the bed, scrolling on the phone once more. Out of the corner of their eye they see Senku glancing over at them, then back to his laptop, scrolling through his current projects. They smile and put their phone down before motioning for him to come over.
He sits next to them and they squish his face in their hands.
“You’re so cute when you’re all jealous.”
He chuckles and glances off a bit.
“No clue what you’re talking about.”
