"Azula..." Ursa starts, making a conscious attempt not to take that strict tone that she had so often spoken to the girl in. "You shouldn't believe everything your father says"

The Princess looked at her mother , the words on the tip of her tongue 【 lacing 】 with the same poison that her mother's presence brought to her day . She looked over her shoulder , causing her obsidian strands to 【 drape 】 over her shoulder , then return when she looked back at second - rate parent .

Ursa stood still in the doorway, sunken in eyes fixed on the child, an attempt to take the verbal lashing with some kind of grace. The words cut deep though, can hear the pain in them, to know she was the source of it was was a terrible, shameful thing. As a mother in this moment she wanted nothing more than to sweep the girl up and and hug her tight, something she hasn't been able to do with Azula in a very, very long time.

Tries not to dwell on the longing for something that resembles a relationship. Ursa knew she wasn't entitled to her forgiveness, that's not why she was here. Azula could hate her all she wanted, but Ursa would be damned if she will continue to stand idly by while that man sinks his claws any deeper into her daughter.

"Your father tells his distorted version of the truth, twists things to fit his schemes, to manipulate you into doing his will" She says, almost pleading with the princess as she begins to step towards her. "Azula, you're a clever girl, you must know he's using you"

“I appreciate the thought,” Zuko replies with an uneasy breath as the tension he carried melted from his shoulders. “But I don’t want you seeing him anymore.”

"A bit of an overreaction... Don't you think?" She couldn't look him in the eyes and ask that question. Gaze dropping down to the bruised wrist and chipped nails she had sustained trying to claw the man's eyes out.
