You talk about gender roles and how people will use said stereotypes to assume sexual roles like Dom and sub yet you do the same thing in your post. You say that Choso is protective and possessive as well as a capable fighter. What does any of that have to do with sexual preference? Can he not be all those things and also bottom? By you saying that someone can’t be all those things AND be submissive or bottom, it’s the same thing as saying you can’t be strong AND feminine.

And even if you still don’t think he’s a sub or a bottom, that’s fine. But I think tagging x reader just to complain about people making content “wrong” when neither side is the “right” way is just silly.

It’s more of an issue where anytime there’s ever a strong woman character it’s always “she tops” or a man that’s vulnerable “he bottoms” when it’s much more complex than that. My thoughts on Choso is that it’s totally non canonical from what we are presented. We never see any indication of him sexually or romantically being top or bottom. Soooo Why is vast majority of us, assuming he’s a bottom because he values his family. Why anytime someone has a trait seen as “womanly” they’re seen as a bottom. I could also talk abt how in pop culture being a bottom is seen as the weaker role. Someone could prob explain this concept better than me. Anyway food for thought.

I think we have to evaluate that giving/receiving being dom/sub approaches a sexist dichotomy. Being a top, pegging ect isn’t synonymous with strength and I think it’s given to women to defeminize them (maki) which is blatantly sexist, because it implies a woman who is strong is inherently “manly” and therefore a woman cannot be strong and feminine. Everyone is so obsessed with sexual roles when a good relationship typically involves majority “vanilla” sex (specially being on equal ground) that doesn’t mean kink or power play is anti feminist, but you cannot have a healthy relationship playing the same roles and strictly that.

Anyway ik u guys don’t rly gaf so here’s the horny list of characters I think prefer to take a receiving whiny role more consistently.

Ino- looks for reassurance a lot, I think he eats it crazy. I don’t think he’s particularly good but wants to learn and gets off on being praised.

Utahime- comfortable in that role, a bit of a pillow princess, rather not worry about dynamics or trying to prove herself. Rather be told what to do in the bedroom by someone she trusts and knows respects her.

Ijichi- doesn’t like to make decisions, likes them made for him

Mahito- has a hard time without direction, isn’t use to the leading/planning role and is more comfortable receiving.

I think everyone else is generally mutual, switch, or dom
