the more i see it the more hosea’s blatant favoritism is honestly so fucking funny bc we’re all just like “what a soft dad!!” and meanwhile he’s out there in camp filming grandpas gone wild @ everyone who isn’t arthur, lenny, john, or the girls, yelling and kicking them off of chairs and pulling guns on them like an absolute incredible maniac
then he turns around and like, to arthur in particular, always takes him on fun trips/missions and makes him coffee in the morning and will always ask him to back hosea up when he’s trying to get The Fuckheads™ to lift a god damn flour sack or something, and when he does want arthur to do something he always phrases it in an extremely gentle way even if arthur is being stubborn about it… like… the DIFFERENCE lmfdsfk
he’s very kind to lenny and jack/the women too; a bit blunter with john but never in an unkind way, which is obviously because all of them do carry their weight and don’t layabout or get piss drunk constantly. but looking closely at everything, it’s just never been so obvious to me that dutch might have had his golden boy in john but hosea honestly just had such a special fondness for arthur and it super kills me
the reality is that hosea was always 100% ready to blow his top on main but we literally Don’t See It most of the time because he adored his sons and was proud of them?? checkmate r* i’m fucking dead thanks
