This is a "video sketch titler" which i am not really sure if that functions as a term on it's own or is just a name thought up by Sony but it allows for drawing and placing text on video, beside few other functions like making the said drawings move in on the screen in few different animations (i can't really show because mine is currently taken apart waiting for recapping but here is a video showing the full features of it)

This titler is basically an MSX computer (MSX2 to be exact) in a custom packaging, which makes it a tad bit outdated for 1992 hardware wise as it is basically almost the same as a 1985 8bit home computer but who cares tbh

Here is how it looks inside:3 it has 2 boards, left one dedicated to the computer part, and the right one dedicated to taking care of the "superimposing 2 video signals onto eachother" part. Notice also the amount of crystal oscillators on it because it uses 3 of them which is not a small amount which tbh makes me wonder how complicated the circuitry for doing just that is.

The CPU, which is the Zilog Z80, and is probably one of the least modern ic's of the whole computer board. It has been used in the ZX Spectrum and Osborne 1 which both predate the video titler by at least 10 years.

You can notice the "9228" which makes this CPU manufactured in 28th week of 1992, which is probably around the year when this video titler was put together.

Here is the graphics processor Yamaha V9938 which has been used in the MSX2 line of computers, and well. I am not sure what the GAME stated in bold excited letters is related to tbh

The DRAM chips! The board has 4 of them but i didn't notice the 2 other ones before taking the picture^^; The service manual states they are TMS4464 - 10FML which are (i think correct me if i am wrong) 64 × 4bit word. And tbh i think 4 of them combine for 128kbytes of ram???????? I am not sure tbh <- actually WRONG. It has 6 DRAM IC's. Out of ideas tbh

The gate array IC, which takes in the the I/O data coming in from the graphics pad and other buttons on the titler. I don't know much about it tbhhhh

And what i presume is the ROM! Which contains the graphics built into the video titler and i think also the animations for various wipes.

Anyway glad to see a post about it i love how it looks and generally how silly this device is:3 and tbh i was so relieved to see it working because it was kinda in shambles when i first got it.
