I love technology and hate it all at the same time. I love how we can connect with millions of people around the world, and express ourselves through photos and keep in touch with people. But I also hate how the people I am physically In the presence of are still consumed by this never ending cyber world.

Call me, FaceTime, Tweet, Text, Instagram, I don’t mind, but when I’m sitting across from you, be present. Check your phone if you need to, I totally get it. Shoot a text here or there. But don’t ignore reality. Laugh with me in real life.

I’m going to do a social experiment for the next 2 weeks. When I am in the presence of others, I’m not going to have my phone in hand, or constantly check it. I’m going to be fully present and engaged. Even if there’s a lull in conversation or anything, I’m not going to pull my phone out as a distraction. When I’m walking alone, I’m going to be aware, not face buried in my phone because I’m alone.

I hope through this experiment some good will come of it. I’ll probably write about my experiences each day. Idk.

But maybe take the challenge yourself and see how it changes your life, or if it doesn’t.

You know one of the reasons I love Cas so much? Because no one really cries for him. No one sobs, not the way Dean breaks when he think’s he’s lost Sam, not the way Sam can hardly breathe when his brother is bleeding to death in his arms. It’s never raw grief, it’s this simmering thing that silently breaks them down, but like everyone else in their life they shut it out. No one breaks down for him and I’m honestly just like… well I will, baby bird. I’ll care.
