I use this blog to share my Jujutsu Kaisen fics - mainly character x fem!reader, both canon verse and AUs, honestly whatever I'm in the mood for.
I'm currently writing one-shots, headcanons, and a college AU series, so make sure to check those out! I am also open to both ideas and requests, just send me an ask! ✌️
Satoru can’t do simple with you. He literally doesn’t know how to keep things low-key, so when you said you didn’t need anything special for your birthday, he practically died inside.
“Baby, what do you mean you don’t want to do anything tomorrow?” He asked, his eyebrows knitted together in confusion as he held you tight against him.
“Satoru, it’s fine.” You said with a light chuckle, “We can just spend the day here, you don’t have to have any extravagant surprises planned.” You moved your hand down, interlacing your fingers with his and squeezing lightly, “As long as you’re here, that’s all I need.”
So, the fact that you awoke in a bed that wasn’t your own, to the sound of ocean waves in the distance, meant you were definitely… surprised.
“Rise and shine, birthday girl!” Gojo comes sauntering into the room, already sporting bright swim trunks and sunglasses.
“Satoru…” You mumble, looking at the excited grin on his face, “What’s going on?”
“Well!” He drops onto the edge of the mattress, the bed dipping under his weight as he pulls off his sunglasses, letting those bright blue eyes beam down at you. “You said yesterday, as long as I’m here, that’s all you need. So, technically? I’m here, we’re just... at the beach now.”
Your jaw drops. “The beach?”
“Yep!” Gojo says, lying on his back right next to you, “I know you love it here so… I teleported us last night and rented out this whole coastline for the weekend!”
Before you can even process the fact that this man fully disregarded what you told him yesterday and carried you through space and time in your sleep, he’s ushering you out of bed. He leads you onto the front porch of the ocean-front house he rented, where the view of the turquoise water takes your breath away. That’s not all, though. The table out front is stocked with your favorite breakfast, along with balloons and flowers.
Gojo sees how your eyes widen at the spread, his arm snaking around your waist. “I know you said no big surprises, baby, but you have to let me spoil you a little bit,” he hums, pulling you back against his chest. His chin comes down to rest heavily on your shoulder, his breath warm against your skin as he presses a tender kiss right below your ear.
“Now you can relax!” He says with a light chuckle, “It’s just you, me, and the ocean. Happy birthday, baby.”
Nanami
You were expecting to wake up to a cold, empty bed today. Nanami told you last night that he was going into the office tomorrow, and while you were a little disappointed, you assured him that he didn’t have to worry. But when your alarm finally went off… the bed wasn't empty.
You let out a sleepy groan, rolling to turn off your alarm when your arm brushes something warm at the other side of the bed. Before you can even look over, Namami takes your hand in his, giving it a nice, soft squeeze.
“Kento?” You mumble sleepily, “Why aren’t you at work?”
Nanami simply looks down at you, lazily swiping his thumb across your knuckles. “I called out,” He says, a rare smirk tugging at his lips, “I wanted to stay here with you today.”
“But your big presentation next week… Don't you have a meeting this afternoon?” You start muttering worryingly, looking up at Nanami.
“Shh,” Nanami interrupts gently, bringing your hand up to press a soft, lingering kiss to the back of your knuckles. “I handled it. Everything for the presentation was finalized yesterday, and the meeting was rescheduled.”
He shifts, reaching over you to finally turn off the obnoxious buzzing of your alarm before settling back down and pulling you against his warm chest. “I knew if I told you ahead of time, you’d waste your energy worrying about my schedule instead of enjoying your own birthday,” he murmurs into your hair, “So I lied.”
Your eyes widen slightly, but before you can even protest his sneaky little scheme, Nanami's arms tighten around you, locking you into his embrace and effectively silencing every thought in your mind.
“You aren't going to lift a single finger today,” Nanami says softly, his thumb tracing a soothing circle over your hip, “Just stay here in bed with me.”
You finally let your body melt into his, letting out a content hum, your eyes fluttering shut as he runs his fingers through your hair.
“Happy birthday, my love,” Nanami says, “Now, go back to sleep.”
Megumi
Megumi’s never quite been one for big, flashy surprises. I mean, he doesn’t hate them, it’s just the idea of willingly stirring up a scene makes his skin crawl. But, because it’s for your birthday, he tries his absolute best to step out of his comfort zone.
He invited you to a small park, the one you two always liked to take walks at, and that’s practically one of your favorite spots in the city. You see him standing under the shade of a massive tree, hands shoved deep into his jacket pockets, looking a little nervous. The second he spots you, he stiffens slightly before pulling a small, neatly wrapped box from his coat.
You let out a small gasp, pulling him in for a hug before taking the box in your hands. “Megs,” You coo, “You didn’t have to.”
“I wanted to,” he stammers, rubbing the back of his neck as an unmistakable flush crawls up his neck. He looks away for a second, trying to play it cool, but the tension in his shoulders betrays him. “Open it.”
You untie the ribbon, sliding the box open to reveal a delicate necklace. The chain shimmers a bit from the sunlight, but the charm at the bottom is what takes your breath away. It’s a small disk engraved with both of your initials with a heart in between. “Megumi, this is amazing,” you murmur, looking up to find him watching you intently.
Megumi lets out a small sigh, a smirk tugging at his lips. “I’m glad you like it,” He rasps, reaching over to slip the necklace out of the box and putting a hand on your shoulder. You turn around, allowing Megumi to clasp the necklace on your neck, his fingers trailing back down to your waist.
“I thought we could hang out here for a bit,” Megumi murmurs, his hands lingering at your waist as you turn back around to face him. His fingers reach up to lightly touch the shiny new pendant resting against your chest, his thumb brushing your collarbone.
But before you could lean into his touch, his hand pulled away. He lets out a huff, putting both of his hands together.
“Megumi?” You say, looking down at his hands, “What are you doing?”
“I know how much you've been wanting to see the dogs lately,” Megumi says, “so I decided they would get a day off today.” He clasps his hands together, making the shadow sign and summoning his divine dogs.
The second they lay eyes on you, they sprint over, knocking you on the ground and smothering you with licks. You tumble back into the grass with a breathless laugh, instantly burying your fingers into their thick fur.
Megumi sits down right beside you, interlacing his fingers with yours. “I know I’m not great with surprises, but I wanted today to be special,” Megumi says, “Happy birthday.”
Yuji
If Yuji excels at one thing, it’s making sure you feel like the most important person in the world. He’s been practically bursting at the seams all week, so the moment your eyes open on your birthday morning, he’s already jumping around.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” he practically shouts, pulling you out of bed into a tight bear hug, lifting your feet off the ground.
Before you can even yawn, he turns toward the nightstand, grabbing a card and shoving it in your hand, completely beaming. The card is clearly hand-drawn, a picture of the two of you in stick figure form, holding hands surrounded by glittery hearts on the cover.
“Awww, Yuu, this is so cute!” You coo, flipping the card to the inside and reading the heartfelt message he left for you.
“I made it myself!” Yuji says with a smile, seeing you admire his work.
You let out a light chuckle at his apparent enthusiasm, tussling his hair as you set the card back down. “You did so good,” You say, pulling him in for another hug. “Thank you.”
He wraps his arms tightly around your waist, burying his face into the crook of your neck for a long moment before pulling back with a grin. “Just wait until dinner tonight!”
Later that night, Yuji took you to your favorite restaurant, but while you were in the bathroom, he called over the waiter. “Hey man,” he whispered to the server as if you were right there, “It’s my girlfriend's birthday tonight, so do you think you could do the song and dessert thing? I want to go all out for her!”
Eventually, you came back to the table, casually ordering your food and enjoying dinner, but Yuji was basically vibrating. His smile was so big you could see it from a mile away, his eyes constantly darting around the restaurant, until finally you figured out why.
After you both finished your meal, five servers came out, one of them holding a sundae with a huge sparkler on top. “Hey, everyone!” One of them shouts, “We’ve got a birthday here tonight!” The whole restaurant turns to look as the staff launches into a boisterous birthday song, Yuji clapping right along with them as they set your birthday dessert in front of you.
You bury your face in your hands, cheeks burning red from embarrassment and joy at the same time.
Yuji laughs, gently tugging your hands from your face. “Happy birthday, babe!” He says, dipping a spoon in your ice cream and putting it to your lips, “I love you so much!”
Choso
You see, Choso didn’t really understand human traditions. He only became a human recently, so whenever Yuji told him about birthdays, he was a bit… confused.
“So, I bake her a cake?” He says, raising an eyebrow at Yuji.
“Yeah!” Yuji nods aggressively, “And maybe get a gift too, some balloons, ooooh what flowers does she like?”
“I… umm,” Choso says, his eyes widening as he looks around the room, completely overwhelmed.
“Let’s just stick to the cake,” Yuji says with a sigh, giving his older brother a pat on the back.
So, the next day you walked into the kitchen with it looking like a complete warzone. The entire counter was sprinkled with flour, dishes were everywhere, and there was somehow frosting on the floor. But, low and behold, on the table there was a cake. Sure, it was a bit lopsided, and the frosting wasn’t exactly even, but you didn’t mind.
Behind the cake, Choso was slumped down in his chair, his body basically in the same state as the kitchen. There’s flour dusted across his cheek and his hair is wildly unkempt, but the moment his eyes land on you, his entire face instantly softens. He practically scrambles out of the chair, taking two large strides to reach you before stopping short, suddenly aware of the mess on his hands.
“You’re awake,” Choso says softly, his dark eyes lighting up the second they reach your face. He carefully wipes his hands off before bringing them up to cup your jaw. “I- I made a cake for your… What is it? Oh. Your birthday, this is for your birthday.”
You look past him to the cake one more time, feeling a warmth blooming in your chest that completely drowns out the chaos of the kitchen. “It looks great, Cho,” you smile, stepping closer and wrapping your arms around his waist, not caring about the stray flour clinging to his clothes.
Choso lets out a quiet sigh of relief, resting his chin on top of your head and holding you tightly. “I’m glad you were born,” Choso murmurs into your hair. “Happy… birthday.”
Higuruma
To you, your birthday was just like any other day. You and Higuruma both had work, the only fun surprise you woke to this morning being him brewing you your coffee. You left after him, preparing to sit at your desk all day, daydreaming about going home with him for the night. So whenever you saw his car idling outside your office only halfway through your workday, you were completely caught off guard.
You pulled out your phone, dialing his number as you squinted at his car, just to make sure you weren’t seeing things. “Hiromi,” You say, resting your cheek on your palm, “What are you doing here?”
“Honey,” He drawls into the phone, “I’m not letting you rot at your desk on your birthday, now come outside.”
The moment you heard that, you practically flew out of your chair, abandoning your work without a second thought. When you pushed open the heavy glass doors of your office building, Higuruma was leaning against the side of his car, looking entirely too unbothered for a man who had just abandoned a mountain of legal paperwork.
He pushes off the car and holds the passenger door open for you, pressing a quick kiss to your forehead before getting back in the car. But instead of heading home, Higuruma drove you straight downtown, navigating the city traffic until you were stopped right outside your favorite restaurant.
"Hiromi..." you gasped, turning to him with wide eyes. "How did you even get a table here on a Friday night?"
“I actually made this reservation weeks ago,” He says with a smile, shutting off the car and circling around to your side to get the door.
The hostess led you guys past the crowd straight to a private, candlelit booth in the back, away from the chatter of the rest of the dining room. Before you could even settle into the plush leather seat, Higuruma caught the eye of the server, signaling him over with a nod.
He immediately points out your favorite bottle of wine on the menu, one you usually don’t get because of the price tag. “Hiromi,” You whisper frantically as the server walks away, “What are you doing? That bottle is really expensive!”
Higuruma just offers an unbothered grin as he reaches across the table, his long fingers gently lacing through yours. “It’s your birthday, Honey,” he says, his thumb softly tracing the back of your hand. “Let me take care of you tonight.”
Chapter Summary: When an unwanted guest comes to the clinic, Choso is presented with a difficult choice.
𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝖂𝖆𝖑𝖐 𝕴𝖓
Ryomen. You type his name into the patient file, leaving it fully displayed on your monitor. As much as you didn’t want to take this strange man back into an exam room with you, he really looked like he needed help. He was still hunched over in the waiting room, gripping his side as he looked at you intensely. You narrowed your eyes at his facial expression, your left hand leaving the scissors tucked in the desk as you finally stood from your chair.
“Alright, Ryomen,” You say with a sigh, mindfully maintaining your distance, while also trying your best to be polite, “Follow me.”
He lets out a relieved breath, falling in step behind you as you lead him to the first exam room. You open and hold the door for him, gesturing to the table while you gather supplies. You turn your back, hearing him hop up on the table, the paper crinkling slightly under his weight.
“Thank you so much for letting me in,” Ryomen says with a heavy breath, “It means a lot for you to make time for me after your long shift.”
As those last words leave the man’s mouth, your hand freezes by the gauze pads. How did he know you worked a long shift? The thought sits there for a moment, uncomfortable and out of place. But you push it aside. It was probably nothing. A lucky guess.
“Umm-” You murmur, your hand adopting a slight tremor as you continue to reach for the gauze pads, “You said you got cornered by some guys, right?” You ask, desperately trying to shift the spotlight off yourself.
'Yeah,” Ryomen sighs, “Before I knew it they got me to the ground, and I took a sharp hit to my side, it’s bleeding pretty bad.”
You let out a soft gasp, turning around quickly as you gather your equipment. You thought you noticed some minor bleeding, but if it’s worse than you assumed, this Ryomen guy could be in serious danger. “I- can you take your shirt off for me?”
Ryomen tucks his hands under the hem of his dark t-shirt, lifting it over his head and exposing his torso. Just like the rest of him, his muscular chest is covered in ink, his shoulders and pecks sporting jagged black lines, and just as you suspected, there’s a laceration on his side oozing with blood.
Without thinking, you roll the small stool in the space right between his legs, pressing one of your hands to his upper side while the other holds a gauze pad to the wound to stop the bleeding. His skin is warm under your palm, his breathing completely relaxed.
“You’re taking this pretty well,” you mutter, lowering the soaked gauze from his side.
Ryomen lets out a gravelly chuckle, “Pain doesn’t really bother me, Sweetheart.”
You hear the nickname slip from his lips, turning your back to grab an alcohol wipe without acknowledging it. You didn’t quite know why, but ever since this guy walked in, you’ve had an uneasy feeling in your chest.
This man, on the other hand, was oddly calm. For someone who had just been attacked, he didn’t seem shaken at all. You grab the wipe, turning back to him when you see him reach out, his hand stopping just short of yours.
You immediately drop the wipe onto the tile, your breath catching in your throat. For a moment, neither of you moved, your eyes trained on the wipe, but Ryomen’s were still on you. Then before you could move to pick it up, his fingers curled around your wrist.
He turns it over in his palm, his eyes falling from your startled face down to a thin trail of blood on your hand. With one smooth swipe of his thumb, he brushes it away, his eyes practically glued to you the entire time.
"There was some blood,” He murmurs, finally releasing your wrist, “Thought I would save you the trouble.”
“Thanks…” You mutter, pushing your chair back a little harder than intended and crouching to retrieve the wipe before tossing it into the trash. You turn to grab a fresh one, your mind racing. He was just being polite… Right?
“Ok,” You say, clearing your throat as you clutch the new wipe in your hand, hesitantly pushing your chair back over, “This is going to sting a bit, you ready?”
Ryomen just watches you approach his wound, offering you nothing but a nod as you press the wipe down. Usually when you clean wounds like this, patients tense up almost immediately, even Choso having a noticeable reaction to it, but this guy, he didn’t even flinch.
“You have steady hands,” Ryomen says, completely breaking your momentum.
You pause to look up at him, only to find his eyes already waiting for you. “It’s kinda an important part of my job,” You say with a simple nod, shifting uncomfortably as you try to get back to your work.
“Been doing this a long time?”
“Almost a year,” You say, trying to clean the wound as quickly as you can now, small beads of sweat forming on your forehead.
“Thought so,” He says with another laugh, “You’re really good at this.”
“It’s just my job,” You shrug, wiping down the last of the wound before pulling away and getting some medical dressings.
"Well, I don’t think you give yourself enough credit,” Ryomen says with a light laugh, pulling his arms behind him to give you better access to his side. “Patching people up like this can’t be easy.”
“You kinda get used to it,” you sigh, beginning to wrap his injury quickly.
“You see a lot of wounds like these?” Ryomen says, gesturing to his side.
Your mind flashes back to Choso, that brutal cut in his side, how much it hurt him. How it reopened when he was fighting Naoya, or how it almost did when your legs wrapped around his waist for the first time. Now it’s just a jagged scar, but the first night you saw it, how scary it was to have to clean it, and how it ended up bringing the two of you closer together will stay with you for awhile.
“More than I’d like,” you reply after a moment, your mind still swimming with the memories of that night.
Ryomen lets out a huff, letting your words hang in the room. “Boxers can be pretty violent, huh?”
“I…” you stutter for a moment, “some more than others, I guess,” you say, your free hand still holding you steady on his broad chest.
“You seem to know them well,” Ryomen drawls. “Do they come around here often?”
You let out a small laugh, some of the tension in your shoulders easing as your thoughts drifted back to Choso. You smooth another strip of dressing over his side, “One of them does.”
“Oh?” Ryomen coos, “A regular?”
You nod absentmindedly, “Yeah, my boyfriend boxes for RSU actually,” You say, a smile tugging at your lips, “I guess you could say he’s a bit of a regular here.”
Ryomen hums, his head angled down as he watches you work, “Lucky guy.”
“I just try to keep him out of trouble,” you say, a slight flush crawling up your neck, “Y’know, wrapping his hands and such.”
“Always hated wrapping mine,” Ryomen says with a chuckle.
“You box?”
“For the curses,” He says with a nod.
Curses. They were dirty fighters, and you remember Choso saying he boxed against them the night he first came in. Who was this guy? “You go to MDI?” You say, reaching over for another bandage.
“Yeah,” Ryomen says, “I guess that makes your boyfriend and me rivals.”
You giggle, the idea this man could fight for that school making your heart jump a bit. “I guess so,” you say, pressing the fresh bandage down, “Honestly, I don’t get what it is with you guys and wanting to beat each other up all the time.”
“It has its perks,” Ryomen shrugs, “I wouldn’t mind getting beat up if I could get treated by a nice girl like you after every time.
You pause for a second, your hand growing cold and still on his warm chest. His tone is so smooth, but something about the way his dark eyes stay locked onto yours while he talks makes the back of your neck prickle. “Don’t… make a habit of it,” you say with a forced laugh, “I’m sure you’d much rather have a quiet night.”
“Sure I would, sweetheart,” Ryomen says, his voice low, “I see why your boyfriend likes you, y’know, you’re nice company.”
“Oh- I… thanks,” you say, though the compliment sits strangely in your chest.
“I mean, you probably don’t realize how much you do for him,” Ryomen says gruffly.
“What makes you say that?” You respond, suddenly wrapping his wound a lot more efficiently than before.
Ryomen laughs, "Just the way you talk about him,” he says, cocking a brow at your urgent movement. “I’m surprised he ended up with someone like you.”
“Someone like me?” You say as you finish wrapping his wound, your browning knitting together in confusion.
“You’re a sweet girl,” He says, a faint smirk pulling at his lips, “I can see why he keeps you close.”
“Mhm,” You hum hesitantly, smoothing his bandage gently with your hands.
“He’s protective of you,” Ryomen says, “I’m honestly surprised he left you alone like this.”
“He’s right at the gym,” you interject quickly, “My supervisor just stepped out like ten minutes ago.”
“Right, well, he should be less careless,” Ryomen says, his voice smooth and slow, “It’s dangerous.”
Dangerous? The word sits heavier than it should. Your mind flashes back to the last time you were here alone. How close Naoya got before Choso stepped in. You force yourself to take a breath, pushing the memory away. No. This guy hadn’t done anything wrong. He’s injured, he just came here looking for help.
“I can handle myself.” You say, desperately wanting to believe your own words. You tried so hard to fight Naoya off that day, you wanted anything but to be that helpless again.
Ryomen lets the room fall into silence, watching as you take your hand off his chest, finally moving away from him. “I believe you,” He says with a slow nod, “I just wouldn’t want Ka-” The word catches in his throat for the briefest moment. His expression shifts before he quickly corrects himself, “... him getting too comfortable.” He clears his throat, “I didn't mean to insult you.”
“I know,” You murmur, setting your supplies down and standing up, facing Ryomen once again. “Alright, you should be good to go, just try to rest your wound for a few days, please,” You say with a quiet laugh, remembering how hard it was for Choso to do just that. “I know you boxers get antsy.”
“Of course,” Ryomen says, his eyes leaving yours to glance down at his medical dressings, “Who would want to ruin all your hard work?”
“You’d be surprised,” You say, backing towards the door as you watch Ryomen put his shirt back on. “Sorry there’s no doctor here to give you any medication.”
Ryomen just laughs, jumping up to follow quickly behind you. “That’s ok, like I said before, the pain isn’t what bothers me.” He pauses, the sound of his steps echoing off the tile coming to a halt, “It’s having to watch people like you be too trusting.”
His words cut through the room, your stomach dropping as you turn around slowly, only to see Ryomen still peering at you. You stare at him for a moment, your breath coming in shallow hitches as you try to decipher what he means. But Ryomen only looks back at you, his expression completely unreadable.
Then he moves.
His hand shoots out behind him, reaching right towards you. It’s faster than before, barely giving you time to flinch before it lands right on… the door handle?
You feel your heart practically beat out of your chest, instinctively letting out a light gasp as he opens the door from behind you.
“Whoa, relax.” Ryomen says, laughing as he notes your flustered expression, “I was only getting the door.”
You let out a ragged gasp, walking out of the room quickly as you hear Ryomen start to follow behind, but right as you move to turn the corner, you hear his steps falter. Before you know it, his shoulder bumps roughly with yours, Ryomen grabbing the wall behind you to steady himself.
“Sorry,” He says with a short breath, shaking his head slightly. “Guess I was more shaken up than I thought.”
"That’s ok,” You say, stumbling a step before planting your feet firmly on the tile, “Just take it easy.”
Finally, you were able to get to the door, his large silhouette looming over you as he moved to leave. “Thank you for taking me in,” Ryomen says with a nod, “it was nice to finally meet you.”
You blink, taking a step back. “Right, well, have a good rest of your night, Ryomen.” You say with a small wave, assuming you must have misheard him.
“You too, Sweetheart,” He says, pushing the door open, his eyes lingering for a moment too long before he walks back into the night.
You watch the clinic door swing shut behind him, the little bell above it chiming softly before the room falls quiet again.
For a few seconds, you just stand there. "...Weird," you murmur under your breath. You shake your head almost immediately, letting out a quiet laugh at yourself. It had been a long day. He was probably just another awkward boxer with no sense of personal space. Plus you still felt a tinge hung over from blackjack last night.
You turn back toward the exam room, opening the door to clean up. You collect the discarded wrappers and bloody gauze before wiping down the exam table for the night, the uneasy feeling in your chest dulling into nothing more than exhaustion and a bit of excitement. You walk back out to the lobby, daydreaming about what flavor milkshake Choso was going to get you when you reach into your back pocket to lock up and… nothing.
You pat it again, and it’s still empty. Shit. You were absolutely notorious for losing the masterkey, in fact you’ve had to get it remade 3 times already. Shoko’s going to be pissed. You look in your front pockets, then your eyes drop to the floor, squinting as you check under all the chairs. You start to get a bit desperate, walking near your desk, combing through all the drawers, and right when you circle back around, getting on your knees to look under the desk, the front doorbell chimes.
𝕮𝖍𝖔𝖘𝖔 POV
Choso had walked into the clinic expecting to see you calmly sitting at your desk, or maybe even waiting at the door, but instead he was greeted with you frantically kneeling on the floor. “Baby?” Choso asks, his voice slightly raspy from his workout, “What are you doing?”
“Oh, hi Cho!” You say with a giggle, pushing yourself up to look at him. “Sorry, I just lost my key again.”
Choso sighs and rolls his eyes, but his lips curl into a small, knowing smile. He drops his gym bag with a light thud, walking over to you. “I’ll help you look.”
“Thanks,” You say with a nod. “Actually, Cho… can you clear that patient file off my monitor and shut it off?”
“Yeah,” He nods, lightly tussling your hair before walking over. He plops down in your chair, a small smirk on his face as his hand moves to your mouse. Then he looks up to the monitor and his hand freezes. His face drops instantly, and for a moment his mind stops. No… it can’t be. Sukuna was here.
That’s impossible. How does he even… maybe it’s not him. Choso feels his chest tighten, his breaths turing shallow as he reads the name again: Ryomen. Sukuna never let anyone use his first name. It couldn’t be. Choso’s mind runs rampant, trying to think through this logically, all while the big bold letters stare right back at him.
R Y O M E N
Why would Sukuna even come here in the first place and then just leave? There’s no way it could be him. Choso continued scanning the file, the sweat on his forehead having nothing to do with the gym. His hand is still paralyzed on the mouse, eyes still wide, mind still in shambles.
“Choso?”
Your warm hands settle on Choso’s broad shoulders. You let out a small snicker, looking at his face, how he’s just staring at the computer. “Did you forget how to clear the files?”
But Choso doesn’t even say a word before you put your hand over his on the mouse, dragging it down to the big button at the bottom and clicking it. “There,” you say with a smile, “Anyway, I’m glad you’re here, that guy was so weird.”
You don’t even wait for Choso to speak, taking his hand off the mouse and squeezing it. “He had all these tattoos,” you say, making a gesture with your free hand, “like his whole face and chest were covered.”
Tattoos. Choso grimaces, Sukuna’s face burned into his mind. He envisions Sukuna here, his smirk, that dangerous look in his eye as you let him in unsuspectingly.
You let out a huff, Choso’s fingers still slightly limp in yours. "And he kept calling me Sweetheart like some kind of pervert, but I told him about you and how you were a boxer!” You say with a laugh. “He actually boxes too, for the curses though.”
The curses. Choso’s heart practically fell out of his chest. “...What?” He blinks, his hand twitching in yours slightly.
“He said you guys were rivals,” You say, letting out a light sigh as Choso finally looks over to you. “Well, I guess I’ll just use the spare key tonight.” You shrug, your eyes falling on Choso’s. “You tired, Cho?”
Choso was so tired. Tired of Sukuna, tired of fighting, tired of everything. He knew he wasn’t out of the weeds with Sukuna, but he sure as hell didn’t think he would be able to show up to your work like this. “I... yeah, sorry.”
“It’s fine, Choso,” You say, releasing his hand from yours and giving him a playful pat on the cheek, “Now let me go get my stuff.”
Choso watches you disappear into the backroom, his mind still trying to catch up when all of a sudden he remembers the very first thing you said, how you were looking around on the floor for your key. He starts putting the pieces together in his head, each one more painful than the next, his limp hand turning into a fist. He clenches his fist so hard his knuckles are white, the reflection staring back at him through the black monitor, looking just as helpless as he felt.
He hears your soft steps echoing from the back, letting out another shallow breath as he finally forces himself to get up, looking down at the floor as you return.
“Alright, Cho, let's go!” You say, giving his arm a light tug, “The ice cream place is probably closing soon!”
Oh, right. Choso feels guilty, you seem so excited to him, and he can’t even focus on you for a moment. His mind is clouded with Sukuna like a poison, he can’t bring himself to think about anything else right now, his chest tight and fist still clenched even tighter.
The worst part? He was falling right into Sukuna’s hands. Instead of simply ignoring him, he let him get into his head. He let him get in here with you alone while he was right across the street, completely oblivious. Right now he doesn’t know what he’s feeling, but he does know that he’s never letting Sukuna get that close to you again.
“Yeah, ok.” He rasps, still detached from this reality as you walk together to his car.
Choso’s brain isn’t in the present right now at all, it’s in pure survival mode. Sukuna crossed the line, and now he was the one who needed to pay. Choso puts both your bags in the trunk, walking over to the driver's seat and starting the car. He grips the steering wheel so tight it groans, the contrast from last night to now almost too hard to bear.
Last night Choso was on top. He won his regional match and had a really good time with you and his friends, actually feeling more like himself for the first time in a while, but now… I mean, I guess you could say he he feels more like himself. His past self. The person in his life he wanted to get away from more than anyone else. Even Sukuna.
“Cho?” You call out, your hand finding his on the steering wheel, “Are you sure you’re fine?”
Choso blinks, realizing his gone almost the entire time without saying a word to you, his hand not even resting on your thigh. God, what the fuck are you doing?
Choso lets out a gruff sigh, “I’m fine, baby. I promise,” Choso nods, the lie slipping off his lips a bit too naturally, “Just tired.”
“Really?” You say, having to squeeze his hand just for him to look over, “Did you work yourself too hard again?”
Choso just gives you a sheepish nod. It’s a guilty pleasure of his, honestly, to go along with whatever narrative you have going on in your head. He doesn’t like to lie to you at all, it practically tears him apart on the inside, but getting to see how you perceive him, how you think his issues are so just normal, he loves it.
“I knew it!” You say, giving his hand a light smack, “You’re always so stubborn about that, Cho, you should really just take it easy.”
Right. Choso lets out a slight huff, but he honestly can’t even remember what you said. The last fraction of the ride is like that, you keep telling him about your day, how excited you were to lie in his bed tonight, but Choso couldn’t even bring himself to listen.
Instead, his gaze is focused out the windshield, eyes cutting sharply between the cars, scanning the dark sidewalks. Anywhere, he could be anywhere.
Eventually, he pulls into the ice cream place, a small little parlor just off campus. It’s pretty dead right now, but even then his hand wraps tightly around your waist as you walk inside, his eyes scanning the dark side streets.
You two go up to the counter, enthusiastically giving them your order. “Cho, do you want anything?”
“I… no, I’m good.” He says, the thought of ice cream just making everything worse. He was already cold enough as it is.
The cashier rings you guys up, Choso stepping forward and paying without hesitation, watching the glimmer in your eye as you grab your milkshake, but then you let out a small yawn.
“Mmm,” You hum, your long shift finally catching up with you, “Cho, can we go back to the car?”
Choso gives you a nod and swipes a couple of napkins, his grip never faltering on your waist as you walk to the car. He opens the door for you, circling around to his side and sitting with you in the quiet. Too quiet. Choso can’t lose himself in you anymore, in fact, he can’t lose himself at all. He sees himself in the windshield, hears himself breathe, feels his arm want to gravitate towards you so badly. But it doesn’t.
You shift in your seat, your hand reaching towards him instead. You wrap your fingers around his, softly caressing his knuckles with your thumb. “I really missed you today,” You say, your voice barely above a whisper.
Choso doesn't understand what there is about him worth missing anymore.
“I…
Baby, I need to tell you something. You don’t know everything about me. I’m dangerous, and the guy that walked into the clinic tonight, he was there because of me. All of this is because of me. The fight with your brother, my spar with Ryu, Sukuna coming after you now, it’s all my fault.
I made some stupid decisions and got involved with some shitty people. I never wanted things to turn out this way, truly, I thought I could just run away. I thought my morals were enough, I thought my strength was enough. I thought I was enough. But I’m not. And I’m sorry I was selfish and put you in danger. You deserve to know who I really am, who I used to work for. You deserve the chance to walk away before Sukuna decides to make my past your problem too.
Is what Choso should have said. But the real truth was far uglier. He can’t lose you. He can’t bear to watch his actions put you in danger, but even more, he doesn’t want you to walk away. He’ll do anything to protect you, anything to stop Sukuna. And most of all, he would do anything to keep you from finding out his dirty secrets.
…missed you too, baby.”
You let out a satisfied purr, leaning more into Choso’s warmth as you continued drinking your milkshake. For the rest of the time, Choso was basically as passionate about the conversation as a brick. He would chuckle occasionally and let you lean into him, but he didn’t lean back. But eventually you started to shift uncomfortably.
"Ugh, Cho,” You grumble, your head resting against his chest. “My shoulder’s kinda sore.”
Choso looks down at you. “What happened?”
“I’m not sure,” you say, shaking your head, getting off of him to rub the spot. “Actually, that guy did stumble into me on his way out.
“Stumbled?”
“Because of his injury,” You sigh. “He lost his footing and totally shoulder checked me, like I almost faceplanted.”
Choso feels his body tense up. Sukuna doesn’t just stumble. His movements are deliberate, everything the man does has a purpose, even something as small as just losing his balance. Choso’s eyes narrow, practically burning a hole in the windshield.
Then the pieces he was connecting earlier in his head come back. You weren’t at your desk, but frantically searching the floor for your key. Choso feels his stomach drop. Sukuna didn't care about the clinic. He cared about getting to what was inside it. That bastard.
He lets out a grunt, his hand suddenly squeezing yours intensely, but you don’t make a sound. Choso looks over, only to see you, leaning against the seat, completely dead to the world. Your lashes fluttered lightly against your cheeks, your face relaxed, and you blissfully unaware. Sukuna had a key to the place you spent almost every day in, and Choso let him steal it right under his nose.
Choso's thumb brushes absentmindedly over the back of your hand, almost like he's reassuring himself that you're still here. He studies your sleeping face for a long moment, guilt settling deeper into his chest. You trusted him. And all he could think about was how easily Sukuna had now slipped into your life.
He sat in the parking lot for a while, the darkness consuming him as your sleepy hums filled the car. His grip on your hand never loosened. His hand was starting to get sore, his thumb continuing its restless drag over your skin. Every time you let out a soft, unconscious sigh in your sleep, Choso’s chest hitches, a fresh wave of sickening guilt suffocating him.
He was right across the street. Just at the gym, completely oblivious while Sukuna walked into your work. He could have done some serious damage, he could have hurt you. Choso’s jaw is clenched so hard it aches. He runs a hand through his hair, his fingers snagging against the damp strands from his workout. Every instinct in him screamed to wake you up. To tell you everything. To drive you somewhere Sukuna could never find you. But Sukuna always found what he wanted.
Choso shuts his eyes, the familiar feeling of helplessness clawing at his chest. He hated it. How one name was enough to drag him back into the man he used to be. He lets out a huff. No, no more running. He was not going down like this. Choso carefully slips his hand from yours, making sure you don't wake. You stir slightly, your head falling against the window before settling again.
"...Sorry," he whispers, almost to himself.
He reaches over the console, popping open the glove box and grabbing his emergency stash. He puts one of the pink gummies in his palm, looking at it for a second before his other hand grasps his phone. Choso looks at you one last time before closing the gummy in his fist. He presses it against his tongue, letting it slowly melt as he unlocks his phone. His fingers shake slightly as he types, the warmth from the edible really not coming fast enough.

Chapter Summary: Choso finally introduces you to some of his friends, but Hakari isn't exactly one for ordinary first introductions.

The drive over to Hakari’s place was a bit longer than you expected, you being at least 20 minutes from RSU by now. “So Hakari lives kinda far, huh?” You say with a light giggle, Choso’s hand on your thigh as he drives.
He just lets out a huff, a small smile tugging at his lips. “We’re not going to his house,” Choso says. “He has a place right outside the city he hosts parties at all the time, it even has a bar.”
Your eyes widen. A bar? The town you live in is completely dry, which is why weed was such a commodity everywhere, but alcohol… You haven’t had your hands on that well, really ever. Gojo can’t hold his liquor very well, and the only person you knew who drank was Shoko, but she refused to give you any.
“A bar?” You ask, “How?”
Choso lets out a sigh. “Nobody really knows,” He shrugs, “Maybe some guys in the city bring it up here or something.”
“Interesting,” you say, tapping your chin in mock thought, “Well, I’m always down to try something new.”
Choso cocks a brow at you, looking you up and down before putting his eyes back on the road. It’s apparent he already knows how this is going to end.
You see the way he’s looking at you from the driver's seat, giving his shoulder a nudge. “I can handle it, Cho!” You insist, “I’m not that much of a lightweight,” you say, crossing your arms and turning your head away from him.
“Sure, baby,” Choso says, clearly not trying to hide his amusement, “Whatever you say.”
Eventually, Choso pulls into a gravel parking lot tucked behind an old warehouse. From the outside, the building looked completely abandoned, but the steady flow of college kids walking in tells you otherwise. The two of you make it out of the car, the faint pulse of music echoing through the night.
“So this is Hakari’s place?” You ask, looking at the beat-down building. “It looks kinda illegal,” you point out with a small laugh.
Choso lets out a huff, tightening his grip on your hand. “It probably is,” He chuckles. “I’ve learned just not to ask.”
“Noted,” you say, your eyes still darting around as you make your way to the door. The second Choso yanks it open, the outside world practically disappears. The warehouse is packed wall to wall with students, music vibrating through the floor beneath your feet. Pool tables line one side, dart boards the other, and exactly like Choso promised, a fully stocked bar sits tucked away in the back corner.
“Wow,” you say, your jaw dropping the second you clear the door, “This place is insane!”
Choso just chuckles and squeezes your hand as he leads you inside, Hakari spotting the two of you right when you walk in.
But before he can get to you, someone comes running up from the side, throwing her arms around you in a tight hug. She lets out a squeal into your neck, your hand falling from Choso’s as you move to hug her back.
After another moment, she finally pulls back, her hands lingering on your shoulders as she looks you up and down with a huge grin. “You’re even cuter than I thought!” She says with an excited laugh.
You blink, laughing awkwardly as you try to figure out who this girl is. “Uhh, thanks?”
She lets out another giggle, pointing a finger at Choso. “It’s about time one of you idiots brought a girl around!” She rolls her eyes at Choso and Hakari, letting out a dramatic sigh as she turns her attention back your way. “Seriously, it’s so nice to finally meet you!”
"I’m guessing you’re Kirara?” You ask, trying your best to remember details about her from Choso’s rant in the car. He tried to give you the lowdown on the place, but now that you’re here, it’s a bit more than you expected. I mean, Choso only gave you the basics, you didn’t know what Hakari’s girlfriend was going to be like, but she’s already more than you were expecting.
“Yep!” She says enthusiastically, letting go of your shoulders to clutch your wrist, starting to pull you through the crowd, “C’mon, you have to meet Yuki!”
You totally go along with her, giving Choso a quick wave as she whisks you off into the sea of people. You’ve had your fair share of college party experiences, but this felt different. It wasn’t just any party, as you looked around, you realized these were Choso’s people. The people he’d spent years laughing with and training beside. And somehow, he wanted you to be part of that too.
The realization settled warmly in your chest, your lips tugging into a smile before Kirara finally came to a stop at the bar. She pats one of the stools, signaling you to sit as she plops down right beside you. She waves over the bartender, calling out to her, “Yuki! You have to come here!”
Yuki turns immediately, her blonde hair swishing as she makes her way towards the two of you. Choso didn’t say much about her, only that she was an old friend and practically lived behind this bar. She comes to a stop right by your stool, looking at you with a soft smile.
“Well,” She says, resting her elbows on the counter, "I was wondering when I’d finally get to meet you.”
You let out a small laugh. “Did Choso tell you about me?”
“No,” Yuki chuckles, “But with the way he’s been acting lately, I could tell.” She shoots Choso a glance from across the room, seeing how he’s looking over to you and smiles, “You’ve really changed him.”
“Yeah,” Kirara chimes in, “We didn’t think we’d ever see him smiling like that.”
You let out a flustered giggle, your face starting to heat up, “I- I don’t know if I can take credit for all that.”
Yuki raises an eyebrow at you, lifting her elbows off the bar, “Trust me, Honey. You can,” she says with a wink.
But right as you go to speak again, you notice the crowd parting, people making a path so Choso and Hakari can pass through, but now Hakari is sporting a wide grin, his eyes glistening with something dangerous. There’s a deck of cards already dancing between his fingers, Choso following behind him, looking significantly less enthused. Hakari continues making his way to the bar, giving Kirara’s waist a quick squeeze as his towering frame settles over you.
“Alright,” He says, tapping the cards against the bar, giving Yuki a small nod, “Let’s find out if Choso’s got one with Passion!”
You let out a small laugh, watching as Hakari shuffles the cards with practiced precision.
“Hope you’re feeling lucky,” Hakari says, scooping the cards back into a stack and offering you his hand, “Blackjack?”
You look at his outstretched hand, glancing at Choso. Choso only gives you an uneasy look before directing his attention back at Hakari's waiting hand. “Sure!” You say with a nod, letting him help you to your feet.
“I like her already,” Hakari says, his grin widening as he starts escorting you through the crowd.
Everyone parts immediately, clearing a path to the poker table in the middle of the warehouse. The second the two of you sit down, conversations begin dying around the room. People drift over with drinks in hand, forming a loose circle around the table while Choso quietly settles in behind your chair.
“Uh…” you mumble, looking around as more and more people gather. “Why is everyone staring?”
Choso lets out a gruff sigh, but before he can answer you, Kirara comes skipping to your side. “Because this doesn't happen very often!” She giggles, “Everyone likes to watch!”
“Seriously?” You say, your stomach doing a small flip as you shift in your chair.
Choso squeezes your shoulder from behind, giving Hakari a glance from across the table, “I tried to warn you.”
Earlier in the car, before you even mentioned Hakari’s place, Choso’s hand suddenly went still on your thigh for a moment. He lets out a deep breath, murmuring, “So… there’s one thing I forgot to mention about the party.”
“What, Cho?” You say, bringing your hand down to his motionless one.
“Well,” He says with a sigh, taking a second to intertwine his fingers with yours. “Whenever we get there, Hakari, he has a little bit of a tradition.”
“Tradition?” You ask with a nervous laugh. “What kind of tradition?”
“He challenges every new person he meets to a game of Blackjack, house rules.”
“House rules?” You ask, raising an eyebrow.
“Basically every time he plays, the rules change depending on who he’s playing with.”
You chuckle, racking your brain to try and imagine how Hakari could manipulate a blackjack game. “That sounds a bit unfair.”
“He actually does it to try and even the playing field,” Choso says with a scoff, “Even in a game like blackjack, he’s a pretty good gambler.”
You stare out the windshield, Choso’s thumb brushing lightly against your knuckles. “So what kind of rules does he make?”
Choso shrugs, “Could be anything, he usually makes them up on the spot.”
You let out a laugh, Hakari’s antics sounding like nothing but cool party tricks. “Sounds fun!”
Now you’re sitting across from Hakari as he begins to set up the cards, his grin widening as he lays them on the table. “Alright,” He says, finally looking up at you, “Let’s make this interesting.”
He waves over Yuki from the bar, who sets down five freshly poured shots between you. Your eyes widen as you look at the clear liquid in the glasses, your heart practically skipping a beat. Some people in the crowd even start oohing and aahing, but Choso is not impressed.
“Hakari,” He calls out gruffly, his hand suddenly tightening around your shoulder, “You know she’s basically never drank before, right?”
Hakari looks between you and the shots, his eyebrows knitting together, “Oh?”
But before he can get another word in, you start laughing. “It’s fine,” You say, giving Hakari a nod before looking back up at Choso. “I can handle it, Cho, remember?"
Choso just lets out a huff, already knowing you’re not going to back down. “Right,” He says with a frantic nod, “You got it, baby.”
Hakari deals himself a card, letting the silence linger as you continue to stare at the shots. “Y’know,” he says eventually, “Blackjack isn’t all about luck.” He slips a card toward you effortlessly, dishing you a grin. “It’s about instinct and taking risks.”
You clear your throat, looking between the shots and the cards, anticipating what type of game you’ll be playing.
Hakari gestures toward the five glasses. “Five rounds. Five shots.” His finger trails down the line of alcohol. “Win the hand, you decide who drinks.”
A few whistles ripple through the crowd, followed by scattered murmurs of approval. A bead of sweat forms on your forehead as you slowly nod. “So if I lose…”
Hakari’s grin widens as he leans back in his chair. “You drink.”
“And if you lose?”
“I drink,” Hakari shrugs, “Simple.”
“Ok, yeah,” You say with another nod, “let’s do it!” A small smile forms on your face. It’s true you’ve never really touched alcohol before, but sitting here now you feel unstoppable. You don’t want to play it safe, and maybe you don’t even want to win, you just want a good game.
You look down at the two cards in front of you, an 8 and a 6, 14. Then you look over to Hakari’s cards: a 10, and the other is still face down. You let out a small laugh, “Hit.”
Hakari raises a brow, “No hesitation, huh?”
“You told me not to play it safe,” you say with a grin, Choso sighing audibly behind you.
“I like it,” Hakari says, handing you another card.
He flips the card, unveiling a 5, 19.
“Still feeling brave?”
“Hmm, I think I’ll stand this time,” You say with a slow nod.
Hakari flips his hidden card, revealing a 6, 16. He grabs another card, a 5, 21. He lets out a low laugh, “Looks like the house takes this one.”
You let out a hum, tentatively reaching over to one of the shots. You feel your stomach churn nervously, but before you can overthink, you put the glass to your lips and chug it down. Safe to say, now you know why Gojo doesn’t drink. The liquid burns your throat on the way down, but when the warmth replaces your anxiety, you see exactly why Shoko does drink. You have to clear your throat a couple times, but eventually place the glass back on the table with a sharp click, the crowd cheering as Hakari moves to start the second round.
He deals himself 2 cards again, but when he moves to place yours, your face lights up. You look down, running your fingers on the cards to make sure you’re not hallucinating. But low and behold, you’re looking at an ace and a king.
You let out a light chuckle, even if you weren’t technically playing to win, it still felt good. “Blackjack.”
Hakari's lips draw into a tight line as he nods, impressed. “Well, alright,” He drawls, “Guess I owe you one.”
He takes the shot, drinking it down with no struggle as you move into round 3.
The artificial warmth in your stomach, along with the high of winning, makes you feel a bit more adventurous this time, maybe luck would be with you the rest of the game.
Hakari deals himself 2 cards, the face-up one a 5. Then he deals your cards: two 9s, 18. Your eyes widen at the cards, usually in this situation you would stand, but seeing that Hakari has such a low number, you take a page out of his book.
“Hit.”
The whole room is silent, Choso’s grip tightening on your shoulder as his other hand pinches the bridge of his nose.
The whole crowd erupts into murmurs and laughter, waiting to see the results of your rash move. Honestly, you were already ready to reach for the shot.
Hakari just lets out a pleased chuckle, looking at you one more time to make sure he heard you correctly. “Riding the winner’s high, huh?”
“I guess so,” you say, ignoring Choso’s grumbling behind you.
“Interesting,” Hakari says with a nod, sliding the card towards you face down. He pushes it extra slowly, the entire crowd watching it in suspense.
You just shift in your chair, inhaling sharply as you try to keep a somewhat confident smirk on your face.
Choso can’t even bear to look, suddenly intrigued by a loose string on his hoodie sleeve.
The card finally makes it to you, your hand already creeping towards a shot. Hakari flips the card up, exposing it to the crowd. You look down at the card, your mouth dropping in pure disbelief. You pulled a 3.
The entire audience erupts, Choso finally turning back towards the table. He lets out a surprised gasp, putting his hand back on your shoulder. “Unbelievable,” he murmurs with a small laugh.
Hakari just scoffs, flipping over his hidden card, unveiling a 6, 11. He takes a breath, reaching to the pile to draw another card. He places down a 7, 18.
He lets out a low whistle, the crowd cheering as he looks at you with a smirk, “Guess this one’s yours.”
He reaches for one of the shots, but in that moment something in you can’t sit still. Instead of letting him drink, you snap your hand out from under the table, grabbing the shot before he can and drinking it down. It burns a little less this time, but the warmth is all the same.
Hakari looks at the empty glass, completely caught off guard, the entire warehouse simmering with chaos now. There are confused murmurs and supportive shouts from the crowd, Kirara is smiling so big it looks painful, and Choso just lets out a defeated sigh. He knows you’re getting carried to the car tonight.
Hakari, though, doesn't react like any of them. He was taken aback for a moment, but now there’s a light in his eye that was not there before. He lets out a gravelly laugh, giving you a look you haven’t seen on him yet, his head nodding in approval. “Taking one for the dealer, huh?” He says with a gravelly chuckle, “I can respect that.”
He starts dealing the next round, the crowd still buzzing from the stunt you pulled. Unfortunately, the round ends almost as quickly as it began, your luck seemingly starting to run out as the warmth starts to spread from your stomach to your head.
“Bust,” Hakari announces with a grin, “Drink up.”
“Okk..” You say with a laugh, your smile coming easier and your voice a tid bit louder and slurred, “Got it.” You take the shot, letting out a giggle as the warmth settles in your stomach again, your head tilting limply against your chair.
Choso sees the way you’re sitting and hears how you're speaking, exhaling sharply. “All good, baby?” He says, leaning against the chair and giving your shoulder a soft shake.
“Mmm hmm,” You nod a little too enthusiastically, “M’totally handling it.”
Choso lets out a guff sigh, looking back at Hakari as he deals the last round.
You glance down at your cards, letting out a quiet hum. Right now you have 11, but with your vision swimming and the warmth pulsing in your veins, you can’t really focus too much on the game. “I don’t want anymore,” you say clumsily, gesturing towards Hakari, “I think I’m goood.”
Hakari just lets out a shallow laugh, “You sure?”
“I’m so goood,” you repeat with a nod.
"Alright,” Hakari says with a shrug, his cards adding to a fifteen. He draws another card, his hand equaling out to 20. “Looks like I take this last one.”
Your lips draw into a pout, your eyes falling to the shots. “Awww,” you murmur, recklessly reaching for a shot.
Hakari looks at you from across the table, seeing how you’re fumbling around, how last time you couldn’t even really play, and lets out a chuckle. He grabs the shot before you can, taking the hit for you.
You let out a surprised hum, but Hakari simply gives you a nod. “Winner’s call, remember?"
He tosses the empty glass back on the table before gathering the cards in one neat pile. A couple more cheers echo through the warehouse before the crowd disperses, the game over being over.
“Good game,” Hakari says, walking to your side of the table and sticking his hand out for a handshake.
Instead of grabbing his hand, though, you look at it confused for a second, letting out a bubbly laugh as you lift your hand tentatively. You clumsily put your hand close to his, Hakari shaking it quickly before turning to Choso.
"She’s a keeper, man,” Hakari says, giving Choso a pat on the back, “Bring her back soon.”
“Yeah,” Choso says, a small flush taking over his cheeks, “I will.”
Hakari moves over to Kirara, giving you one last wave before Choso moves to get you out of your chair. He leans down by your face, cupping your cheek so you look at him.
“Alright,” He says with a sigh as he looks into your glossed over eyes, “Let’s get out of here.”
“Whatt?” You say, your eyes barely focused on Choso’s face, “Cho, we’re not leaving, I- I just won.”
“You’re drunk,” He says, biting his cheek to stop himself from laughing at your cute slurred voice, “We have to go.”
You let out a dramatic gasp. “M’not Drunk!” You say, borderline yelling in Choso’s ear, “I’m just really warmm.” You say, leaning your head into his palm, “And so aree you,” You laugh.
You let your eyes roam Choso’s figure as he’s brainstorming how to get you out of here, not realizing that he’s your main motivation.
“Hmm, actually we should go,” You say with a dangerous giggle, letting your hand fall to Choso’s forearm.
“Yeah?” He says, his hand dropping from your cheek to your wrist to help you up.
“Yeahhh,” You say with a nod, “Because you’re really pretty."
Choso’s hand instantly freezes on your wrist, his eyes widening as he sees Hakari and Kirara are listening to this whole exchange.
“Good luck, man,” Hakari says, letting out a laugh, Choso looking at him completely mortified.
Kirara lets out an excited squeal, squeezing Hakari’s arm. “Oh, she’s obsessed with you!” She says, pointing between the two of you, “That’s so cute!”
Choso just grumbles, his pink ears doing nothing to help as he puts his arm around your waist to guide you out of your chair. You immediately melt into him, your legs practically useless as he starts making his way out. Choso waves back at Hakari and Kirara, you letting out a small laugh as you attempt to say goodbye, getting distracted halfway through.
Eventually though, Choso gets you out of the warehouse, walking you outside and carefully setting you down in the passenger seat of the car, but the second he moves to turn away you reach for the collar of his hoodie, lazily pulling him down to your level.
“You’re like reallyy handsome, Cho,” You say with a big smile, reaching your hand up and patting his face.
Choso’s body tenses up for a second as he looks down at you, your eyes starting to become more heavy than glossed over. He lets out a huff, “Thanks, baby,” He murmurs, holding your hand against his cheek for a second, “Now, let's go.”
You give him a satisfied hum, letting him buckle you in the car and walk to the driver's seat.
Choso starts driving away, placing his hand on its usual spot on your thigh, making you laugh tiredly. “Chooo,” You whine, putting your hand on top of his, “I’mm sleepy.”
Choso laughs a little, giving your thigh a small pat. “Just close your eyes, baby,” He mutters, “We’re almost there.”
The rest of the drive is silent as you doze off against the window, Choso keeping his hand on your thigh as he listens to your breathing even out. By the time he pulls into the parking garage, you are still fast asleep, your head in the same spot on the window. Choso sits there for a second, smiling to himself before reaching over to brush a loose strand of hair away from your face.
“Hey,” he whispers, his voice calm and steady as you crack your eyes open, “Let’s get you upstairs.”
Before you can even reply, he gets out of the car, circling to your side and opening the door. He doesn’t even let you touch the pavement, sliding his hands under your knees and on your back.
You let out a breath against him, “I.. I have legs too, Cho.”
Choso just scoffs, kicking your door shut and walking you to the dorm’s side entrance. “I know,” He says, pulling the door open, “But this is better.”
You give a small nod, letting your body go fully limp in his arms as he carries you up the stairwell, your eyes already threatening to close again. Instead of dropping you off at your room, Choso skips your floor, walking back to his dorm instead. He sets you on the edge of his bed, kneeling to take off your shoes.
He pulls your shoes off, helping you get your legs on the bed and lean against the pillows. “I’ll be right back,” He says, giving your head a small pat.
You settle into his sheets, pulling the covers even tighter against you. You close your eyes, almost falling right back asleep before Choso even comes back in the room.
He comes back eventually, though, holding a glass of water in one hand and 2 pills in the other. He sets the water and pills on the nightstand, placing his hand on your chin to angle your head up. “Here,” He says, grabbing the glass and pressing it to your lips, “Drink this.”
You take a couple sips of the water, the cool liquid helping ease the heat in your throat. Choso swipes the pills from the nightstand next, holding them in his palms.
You stare down at the two little pills in his hand, letting out a small pout as you lazily shake your head, trying to turn your face back into the pillow. “Noo, I want to go to sleep.”
Choso lets out a sharp breath, his touch soft as he cups your chin, his thumb lightly stroking your cheek to coax you up.
“Baby,” Choso murmurs softly, making sure to keep his voice calm. “Take the pills,” he says, holding them up to you, “You’re gonna hate yourself in the morning if you don’t.”
You give a dramatic, sleepy groan, sliding one of your hands up over your face. “Mmm... ok.”
Choso can’t even hide his smile as you take the pills from him and pop them in your mouth, holding the glass of water back to your lips and then letting you lie down. He sets the water back on the nightstand, making his way to his side of the bed and slipping under the covers.
Feeling the dip in the mattress, you clumsily shift towards Choso’s heat, lazily draping an arm over his waist and burying your face in the warm crook of his neck.
Choso exhales deeply, placing his chin on top of your head and an arm over your back. “All good?” He murmurs into your hair, rubbing his thumb up and down your back in a soothing motion.
You nod against him, letting out a small laugh. “Yeahh,” you say, your voice vibrating against his skin, “That was… so fun, Cho…” You trail off, “Thank… you.”
Choso feels your body fully melting against his and how your breaths have evened out, wrapping his arm around you tighter and allowing himself to relax with you. He stares up at the ceiling, reliving the night over and over in his mind, holding you close as he finally succumbs to his exhaustion.
The morning comes way too quickly, the rays of sunshine peeking through Choso’s blinds being enough to drag you out of your deep, alcohol induced slumber. You let out a sleepy groan into Choso’s neck, picking your head up only to be met with a throbbing headache. You instinctively shift away from the sunlight, shielding your eyes as you let out another miserable groan.
Choso feels you stirring beside him, his arm only tightening around your back. He lets out a low rumble, tilting his head up to look at you, immediately seeing how you're shielding your eyes. “Morning,” he mutters, voice still thick with sleep, “Holding up alright?"
“I’ll manage,” You croak out, lowering your hand, “But I’m never drinking again.”
Choso lets out a laugh. “We’ll see about that,” He huffs. “Hakari and the others are eager to have you back.”
“Really?” You say, raising a brow, “You think he liked me?”
Choso scoffs warmly, his hand sliding up from your back to gently massage the base of your neck. “Are you kidding?” he hums, his raspy morning voice vibrating softly against your chest. “I’ve never seen that passionate of a look on his face while he was playing blackjack, plus you totally won over Yuki and Kirara too."
For a second you don’t respond. Even if you couldn't remember everything that happened after the third round, the fact that you were able to ‘win over’ some of Choso’s closest friends made your heart flutter. “I'm glad,” You say, sighing as you rest your head on Choso’s chest, “They were all so nice!”
But in the back of your mind, you knew that wasn't the highlight of the night. You think back to before the warehouse, in the back of Choso’s sedan, your face burning on his skin. You exhale sharply, bringing your finger up to Choso’s collarbone, “Everything about last night was just, I… really loved it, Cho.”
Choso’s breathing hitches slightly at the sudden shift in your tone, his face sporting a similar burning red. “Me too, baby,” he says, pulling you tightly against him, “Me too.”
Unfortunately for you, you had a work shift at 5pm, so staying in Choso’s bed all day wasn’t an option. Now, you’ve been sitting in your swivel chair for 4 straight hours, organizing patient charts and records. You take one last swig from your water bottle, checking the clock as you hear Shoko pace up from the back. 11:25. Your shift officially ended at midnight. Choso was at the gym and promised you some ice cream after your shift to try to help with the last tinge of your hangover, but just as you were fantasizing about the cold treat, Shoko finally appeared.
She looked a bit rattled, her usual calm, neutral expression replaced with a worried look. One of her hands is fidgeting lightly with her lab coat, her eyes looking at you with a foreign urgency.
“Shoko?” You call out, looking up from your paperwork, “Everything ok?”
Shoko lets out a long sigh, shutting her eyes tightly and pinching the bridge of her nose. “I-” She murmurs, “There’s a medical emergency by West Hall.” Before you can even get a word in, she comes behind the counter, gathering some equipment. “Do you think you can handle being here alone?”
Your breath catches in your throat. Alone. The last time you were alone here… You didn’t want to pay it too much thought, actually. It had been over two weeks since it happened, and Choso was going to be here at 12 sharp, plus Shoko seemed so urgent and keeping her waiting would only make things worse.
“Just go,” You nod. “I can close up.”
“Thank you,” She says with a sigh of relief, giving you a light pat on the shoulder. “Kamo’s meeting you, right?”
“He’s at the gym right now,” You say, pointing in that direction out the window. “I promise, I’m fine.”
“Ok,” She says, holding her hands up, “Just close up and get out of here, alright?” She says with a nod.
"Yes ma'am," You say, giving her a reassuring smile as she leaves. Even if you were a little uncomfortable, you would hate to be a burden, plus with your hangover still looming, the peace could be nice.
You reach into the top drawer of your desk, grabbing the clinic masterkey and slipping it into your back scrub pocket, gathering the papers scattered on your desk and putting them in the drawers of your desk. You let out a sigh, fully ready to meet Choso as you walk up to the front door to lock it, but right as you grab the handle, a dark silhouette materializes.
The man steps towards the door, looking down at you with an expression you can’t quite describe. It doesn’t look like he’s stressed, but at the same time, he seems to be in pain. You take a step back from the door, shifting as a spike of anxiety rips through your chest. He tries to open the door fully, but you stick your hand out, only letting in a sliver of the outside air.
“I- I’m sorry, sir,” You start, trying to sound as polite as possible, “We’re closed for the night.”
The man doesn't answer right away. His hand stays braced against the doorframe, his breathing just a touch heavier than normal.
"Please," he says quietly, his voice low and rough. "I don't need much."
Your eyes instinctively drop to where his free hand is pressed against his side. His dark hoodie hides most of his figure, but the fabric beneath his fingers looks damp. He notices where you're looking, his eyebrows forming a nervous arch. "Some guys cornered me in one of the side streets," he mutters, “Took me by surprise, I didn’t know where else to go.”
Your stomach twists. You look at the man, still encased in the night, seeing how he’s clutching his side, and your mind takes you back to how all this began. You remember Choso leaning on the door frame, holding his side that same way. His injuries… You didn’t even want to imagine what would have happened if he didn’t come for help.
Your hand lingers at the door for a moment, but then you let out a defeated sigh, “Can you walk?”
For a moment he doesn’t respond, letting out a groan as he shifts his weight. “Yeah,” He says with a gruff groan, “I think I can make it.”
Finally you let go of the door, immediately backing up to the desk as you let this guy in. You look him up and down from behind the desk, your eyes widening at his build. He was tall, could even be a foot taller than you, but that wasn’t even the most interesting part, it was the tattoos. Since he was standing in the dark, it was hard to notice, but now in the light, this guy has ink crawling up his chin and even some on his forehead.
You sit down in your chair, your left hand lingering by a pair of scissors tucked under the desk just in case. You boot up your computer, pulling up the clinic database. “Do you have a student ID in our system?” You ask, your voice still a tad shaky.
The man just lets out a light scoff, his hand flying back to his chest as he trudges a bit closer to the desk. “I don’t go here,” He says in between breaths, “I was planning on visiting an old friend of mine in the dorms.” He shrugs, “I guess I picked the wrong night.”
You let out a small huff, opening a blank appointment log form instead. “Can I at least get a name then, so I can have it on record?”
The man lets your words hang in the air for a moment, the lobby falling eerily silent. His crimson eyes linger on your face, raking over slowly, then the corner of his mouth twitches into the faintest hint of a smile.
Summary: You and Suguru Geto are bitter band rivals who absolutely hate each other's guts, but all he wants is to rearrange yours.
Pairing: Guitarist!Geto x Reader
Word Count: ~3.1k
Content: MDNI, You and Geto hate each other, slight plot, kissing & making out, Geto is rough, reader bites back, sex, some degradation, overstimulation, Geto is a bit of an asshole
When it comes to the battle of the bands, the unwritten rules of survival are pretty simple. Don’t trust the sound guy, don’t let anyone outside of your band near your gear, and whatever you do, don't you dare fuck the rival band’s lead guitarist.
That last rule should have been easy to follow, considering just how insufferable Suguru Geto is. He and his bandmates, Gojo and Sukuna, always walked around the pub like they owned the place, those smug assholes were your band’s only real competition for gigs.
Right now, they were all huddled under the dim stage lights, Geto’s guitar ripping through the entire venue. His inky black hair was hanging free, swishing around as he played, practically entrancing all the girls in the crowd. But he wasn’t looking at them.
His dark eyes were set entirely on you as you stood at the bar, your manicured nails digging deeply into your leather jacket as his lips curved into a lazy smirk. The second he catches you looking, he arches into his guitar, hitting a sharp, screeching high note, and gives you a wink.
God, you absolutely hate Suguru Geto.
You find yourself giving him a nasty snarl, your eyes narrowed at him until you feel a light tap on your shoulder.
“He’s giving you that look again,” Choso grumbles, his face sporting the same irritated look as yours, “Do I need to gouge his eyes out with one of my sticks?”
You see, it wasn't just you who resented Geto. For years, both of your bands have been considered rivals, and in this industry, that’s not something to take lightly. Every single gig around town, you guys had to compete for, and if you were at the same event, things would be even worse. The trash talking was one thing, I mean, you can’t count how many times Choso has called Geto a pretentious asshole or Sukuna told you that you were dressed like a hooker.
That wasn’t even the worst of it, though, the petty sabotage took the cake. The gig flyers for your band that mysteriously ended up in the venue's dumpster, or how Geto’s amp seemed to be malfunctioning right before show time, but one night after a particularly heated gig, things went too far.
You and Choso had devised a plan to demolish Geto’s pride once and for all. It was supposed to be simple, you just had to sneak into his band’s rehearsal space after hours and steal Geto’s favorite guitar. You and Choso waited out in the parking lot, staking out the place until it was totally clear, and then you got out of the car, practically tiptoeing to the back door while Choso stayed to be the lookout.
Eventually, you made it inside, shuffling through their stage setup until you finally found it: Geto’s infamous shiny black electric guitar. You let out a small laugh, reaching your hand toward the neck of the instrument, when you heard a small thud behind you, followed by a smooth, all too familiar chuckle.
“What do you think you’re doing, pretty girl?”
You freeze, your hand hovering inches away from the glossy wood. Your breath catches in your throat as you slowly force yourself to turn around, your heart hammering a frantic rhythm against your ribs. But right along with the icy fear in your veins, a hot anger gathered in your core the second you heard the words ‘pretty girl’ leave Geto’s stupid mouth. He knew you hated that nickname and only insisted on calling you that every time he saw you.
Geto, on the other hand, was just casually leaning against the heavy metal doorframe, his arms crossed over his tight black tank top, his hair hanging loosely around his face, looking entirely too relaxed for someone who had just caught his rival trying to rob him blind.
"Get bent, Geto," you spat, dropping your hand from the guitar neck and squaring your shoulders to look as imposing as possible in the dim light. "And don't call me that."
Geto just lets out another laugh, taking a step closer to where you’re standing. “I can call you whatever I want when I catch you with your filthy paws on my property,” He murmurs, his smooth voice turning a tad more gravelly, “If you were planning on robbing me, you should have at least brought one of your bandmates that wasn’t a total stoner to be your lookout.”
“Choso, ugh,” You grumble under your breath, cursing your drummer because you know damn well he's knocked out in the parking lot right now. You take a step back, the edge of an amp biting into your thighs.
Geto made quick work of the distance between you, stopping just inches away from you. His towering figure practically engulfs yours, the heavy scent of his cologne wrapping around you. He leans down to your eye level real slow, scanning your form before finally making eye contact. “So," he whispers, his hot breath brushing against your cheek as his hand suddenly comes up, planting itself firmly on the amp right next to your hip. "You want to tell me why you’re so desperate to touch my guitar?”
You swallow hard, refusing to let him see how much his tall frame is rattling you. You lift your chin, glaring right back into his dark eyes. "And what if I don't?" you sneer, your voice steady despite your rapid heartbeat. "What are you gonna do about it, Geto?"
A smug grin tugs at the corner of his mouth, his gaze lowering to your lips for a moment before crawling back to your eyes. “I guess I’ll just have to make sure you won’t go near my stuff again,” He says, his voice vibrating through your core, “And I’m not planning on being gentle, pretty girl.”
That night, you both learned a very dark, very unfortunate truth about yourself. You hated Suguru Geto’s guts, yes, but the second his hands were on you, that resentment, the heat from your anger, turned into a different kind of heat.
Suguru was intoxicating, his long hair, his eyes, traits that you tried so desperately to hate when really you could never look away. And what was supposed to be a one time mistake turned into months of secret hookups. After gigs, in between sets, anytime you could get your hands on each other, but when you were with your respective bands, you still hated him, each of your public interactions going something like this.
“Eat shit, Geto!” You yelled across the corridor when you found your band's posters in the trash, Choso literally having to hold you back so you didn’t rip Geto’s hair out.
“Right back at you, pretty girl,” Geto says with a laugh, continuing to walk the other way with Gojo and Sukuna, who are both giving you nasty looks.
But in private, your relationship was much, much different.
The second you managed to find an empty green room or sneak off to the back of his gear van, the pure resentment in your veins seemed to simmer down.
“Still want me to eat shit, pretty girl?” Geto purrs, his tall frame pushing you against the wall. His breath is hot against your skin, his massive hands roaming your frame intensely.
“Just shut up and kiss me, Suguru,” You murmur back, rolling your eyes and pulling him down by his collar.
But, the two of you both knew if anyone found out about this, it would be bad looks on both of you, so you resorted to sneaking around, which was a nightmare in its own right.
First off, you couldn’t even have his name saved in your phone, his contact sending the same vague texts under a dumb fake one.
Second, the close calls. There have been times where you were shoved behind instrument cases or racks literaly holding your breath because one of Geto’s bandmates walked in.
But all this was necessary because you knew what would happen if people found out. If Choso knew about this, he would lose his mind, lecturing you on what an asshole Geto is and probably trying to throw one of the drums at him. Gojo and Sukuna, on the other hand, wouldn’t just talk down on you but would actively harass Geto out of existence. He knew that between Gojo and Sukuna, the relentless, insufferable teasing would make his life a living hell.
So now you’re sitting at the bar, nails still digging into your jacket as your phone sits in your back pocket, patiently waiting for that one singular text. And finally, a few minutes after Geto’s band clears the stage, you feel a buzz in your back pocket. You pull out your phone slowly, careful to shield it from prying eyes.
Back alley. Van’s already unlocked.
You feel your heart start to race, your face already threatening to flush a bright, undeniable crimson. You tilt your head to the side, seeing Choso caught in an argument with the bartender, and slip off your stool, making your way to the back exit of the pub.
The cool night air hits your face, the muffled sounds of the next band echoing through the empty alleyway. It was practically pitch black out, the sky only lit by one flickering street lamp, but it didn’t matter, your eyes were already set on the rusted black gear van tucked away in the shadows.
You hurry over to the side door, your boots clinking lightly against the asphalt. You feel a ping of anticipation hit your chest as you reach for the door handle, finally giving it a light tug, but the door doesn’t budge. You furrow your brows, pulling harder, only to realize you’re exactly where he wants you.
“Fuck you, Geto!” You shout against the door only for the alleyway to fill with silence once again. You let out an annoyed grunt, tapping your boot on the pavement. “Fine,” You say with a scoff, “I’m leaving.” You turn away from the van, hesitating for a second before taking two steps away, only to hear the sound of the door whipping open behind you.
“Going somewhere, pretty girl?” Geto drawls, his large hand wrapping around your upper arm, dragging you inside before you can even get a word in. He immediately closes the door behind you, pressing you to the metal wall beside it, one of his hands above your head, the other moving to your waist.
The slam of the heavy door echoes through the dark van, the feeling of Geto’s hand on your waist making your body tingle. The air inside the van is suffocating, the scent of Geto’s cologne only making it worse. “Let go of me, you prick,” You snap, shoving your palms hard against his solid chest.
But Geto doesn’t move an inch, his smirk only widening in the dim light cutting through the small side window. "Make me," he murmurs, pressing his chest against yours, his hand only squeezing your waist harder.
"You think you're so funny," You say, lifting your chin and glaring right into his narrow, mocking eyes. "Locking me out there like a joke."
"I think it's hilarious how fast you lose your temper," Geto sneers, leaning down until his hot breath brushes against your lips. "And I think it's even funnier that you actually stayed."
"I was leaving," you lie, your heart hammering a frantic rhythm against your ribs as you feel a heat crawl down your neck.
"Yeah? Then why aren't you running now?" Ghetto scoffs, his eyes dropping to your lips for a moment.
Before you can spit another insult, his mouth slams down onto yours. It’s a brutal connection of your lips, devoid of any actual sweetness. Suguru always kissed you like he wanted to dominate you, his tongue forcing its way past your lips and demanding complete surrender.
Which, of course, you do not give him. Instead, you fight back just as hard, pulling him down by his collar and biting his lower lip until you taste blood, only making Geto let out a satisfied groan into your mouth.
He drinks you in deeper, the kiss only getting rougher as Suguru’s hands fall to your thighs. He hoists you off the ground effortlessly, practically slamming you on the van's cushioned bench seat.
You only wrap your legs around him tighter, locking him against you. Eventually, the two of you pull apart, Geto pressing his forehead against yours. “You don’t know when to quit, do you?” Geto pants out, pulling away from you and teasingly wiping your bottom lip with his thumb.
"Then walk away, Suguru," you challenge, your voice sharp as your hands tear at the hem of his tank top, digging your nails deep into his back muscles. "Go on, walk out the door” you say, cocking a brow at him.
“Shut up.”
Geto doesn’t like asking for permission, his gaze simply falling from your irritated face down to your miniskirt, his large hands catching the sides instantly. He uncoils your legs from his waist, pulling the skirt down to your ankles, your soaked panties following soon after. Once your clothes are out of the way, he lets out a velvety chuckle, catching both of your wrists and pinning them above your head, his other hand drifting to your chin and squeezing it lightly so you look up at him.
“You know the drill, pretty girl,” Geto says with another smooth laugh, “Eyes on me.”
Another thing about Suguru, he doesn’t like to wait. With a demeaning, heavy force, he hoists your hips up, relentlessly driving into you a second later.
A breathless gasp tears from your throat at the motion, Geto’s fat cock stretching you out brutally. You feel tears already prickling at your eyes from the tension, closing them to try and blink them away, but Geto’s grip on your chin tightens.
“I said eyes on me,” He rasps, his thumb pressing into your chin even more, “Open them.”
You force your eyes back open, your chest already heaving as you look back at Geto. His dark eyes are piercing into yours, his face sporting the same smug expression you absolutely resented.
“Good girl,” Geto purrs, starting to move once again, setting an almost punishing pace, his hips slamming into yours as he ruts into you desperately.
The feeling of his thick cock filling you that deeply, only to be pulled out right after, is almost too much to bear. You feel the stinging friction with each thrust, him hitting spots you didn’t even know were there. You continue to keep your eyes up, though, soft moans starting to slip past your lips as Geto becomes even more relentless.
Of course, Geto doesn’t stop there. His hand drops from your chin, slowly tracing down your chest until it settles at the back of your knee, hoisting your leg high on his shoulder. He pulls the other one up right after, opening you up completely to him. He gives you that same god awful wink from the pub, spitting right inside your pussy before burying himself in you to the absolute hilt.
The sensation of his warm glob of spit followed by his cock makes your entire body shudder. Your eyes roll back, a loud gasp escaping you as he pulls himself right back out.
"Look at you," he taunts, a mocking smirk tugging at his lips as he hears you gasp. "Look at how loud you are for someone who claims to despise me.”
Before you can even try to collect yourself, his heavy palm comes down against your bare inner thigh with a sharp smack.
The stinging shock makes your entire body twitch against the seat, and you let out a surprised whine. Geto hears you and snickers, the rough palm of his hand coming down on your thigh again, harder this time. But he doesn’t stop. He continues to drive into you at his same demanding pace, your pinned hands flexing uselessly in his grip.
You arch your back against the seat, your pride entirely unraveling as the sensory overload begins to take over. The hot, muggy atmosphere along with the sting on your thighs and Geto’s cock filling you over and over is simply just too much.
Geto immediately sees the change in your eyes, leaning down to bury his face in the crook of your neck, his teeth clamping down violently on your collarbone, only adding to your overstimulation. He marks you where he knows your jacket will barely cover it tomorrow, swiping his tongue over the deep purple bruise once more before pulling away.
“Tell me how much you hate me,” he demands against your damp skin, his hand sliding to grip your waist while he continues to slam his dick into you. “Say it, pretty girl, tell me how much you fucking despise me.”
“I- I hate you,” you say breathlessly, your voice breaking from the overload as your body completely betrays you. At this point you’re shaking beneath him, but he doesn’t care, determined to punish your poor pussy till you’re left a mess. He hears your stutter and takes it as an invitation, slowly pulling himself out before shoving back in so fast you can’t even hold back your scream. “I fucking hate you, Suguru!”
“Good,” he declares, driving into you one last time before your body finally gives out. You feel a blinding heat in your stomach, your release completely soaking Geto’s cock.
The second he feels you cum, he follows, filling you deep with his warm seed. You let out one final gasp as he finally pulls out, your legs falling from his shoulders limply.
Geto lets out a ragged exhale, rolling beside you on the bench and pulling you into him. He lets out a satisfied sigh, his hand finding the violent slap marks he left on your thigh and stroking them gently. “You’re so wrecked for me,” He murmurs into the darkness.
You weakly shove at his thick shoulder, but let his hand stay on your thigh. “I still hate you,” you huff, rolling your eyes but also melting into his touch.
Geto lets out a low, velvety chuckle, his fingers digging possessively into your skin. "Keep telling yourself that, pretty girl."
You roll your eyes but don’t answer, your gaze wandering to the dark mark Geto left on your shoulder. The one you would most certainly have to cover for your bandmates. Because even if you do happen to break the last rule, nobody has to know.

Chapter Summary: Choso dominates the ring, but a heavy warning from Megumi threatens to pull him away from you completely. Good thing neither of you is very good at backing off.
𝕭𝖆𝖈𝖐 𝕺𝖋𝖋 - 𝕮𝖍𝖔𝖘𝖔 POV
“In the red corner representing Red Scale University,” The announcer's voice echoes through the arena, "And who has a perfect regional record… Choso Kamo!”
Choso feels a bead of sweat trickle down his temple, nice and slow, his hands trembling slightly beneath his gloves. He completely ignores the cheers of the audience, his eyes zeroed in on yours in the front row. He sees how you’re wrapped up in his RSU boxing hoodie, giving him a small wave from your seat, and takes a breath.
Just as the announcer said, Choso had never lost his match in this tournament, and today would be no different. Just because he has a new scar starting to form on his side, or his last memory here was being outside, face down, coughing blood onto the pavement. Plus, his opponent doesn’t seem to be a threat either, he practically has this in the bag.
This competition, despite being a crucial one for the boxers, is actually quite simple. Each person from the team is only required to fight one match, whether they win or lose, being the sole factor for points. But, because of the simple scoring system, this competition is considered a make or break for the rest of the season.
“And in the blue corner, he’s explosive in the ring, Iori Hazenoki!”
Iori bumps his gloves together, narrowing his eyes at Choso. Choso doesn’t know a lot about Iori, but he knows that he fights in sporadic bursts of energy, his punches like bombs, but if he gets cornered, things go south pretty fast. Alright, Choso thinks to himself, stretching his neck out and getting into his fighting stance, I’ve got this.
The second the bell rings for the first round, Iori practically detonates off his side, throwing his body straight at Choso. But Choso doesn’t falter, he starts blocking his strikes, his head clear and body moving with practiced precision. He lands a clean combination, forcing Iori backwards till he’s trapped against the blue corner, Choso barely breaking a sweat.
Iori tries to slip off the ropes, but Choso cuts him off before he can, landing a clean jab to his shoulder. The crowd roars as Choso keeps the pressure on, his performance surprisingly good considering his recent injuries. Choso just feeds into the energy, never quite giving Iori the opening he wants. He keeps landing hits, a hook to his jaw, a jab to his ribs, anything to keep him down, but eventually, Iori gets fed up with being in the ropes.
He looks Choso dead in the eyes, a snarl ripping out of his throat. “Back off, Man!” He shouts, pulling his arm back to execute a strike. But this time, Choso doesn’t block.
Back off.
The words aren’t coming from Iori anymore.
If you really want what’s best for her, you should just back off.
The memory from yesterday floods Choso’s mind. He was already walking on thin ice with you, with Sukuna, with everyone. He didn’t want to mess up and put you in danger, but he couldn’t let you go either. Unfortunately, someone else thought he should.
“Hey.” Someone calls from the shadows, the voice is sharp, catching Choso’s attention instantly. It seems familiar.
Choso was just walking out of the gym, reaching into his pocket for his phone, but before he could take it out, he heard the sound. His eyebrows knitting together at the noise, Choso turning around only to see a mysterious guy looming. He was slightly younger looking, his hair disheveled and his expression pissed off to say the least…
Where have I seen him before? It takes Choso a second, but he finally remembers. Oh right, he’s Yuji’s friend. What was his name again?
You see, Megumi would accompany Yuji to his drug deals sometimes, but he never looked interested in the product. He would just stand there, his gaze heavy and coated with an intensity Choso never quite understood.
Choso slips his phone back into his pocket as Megumi approaches him, clearing his throat. “I’m sorry,” Choso says awkwardly, “Do you need something?”
Megumi just holds eye contact, walking over to Choso and looking him up and down. “You’re Choso Kamo, right?” Megumi says with a huff.
“Yeah.”
“Good,” Megumi says with a nod, “We need to talk.”
Choso lets out a confused sigh, racking his brain for what he possibly could have done to piss this guy off. He never shorted Yuji on any product before, and if this guy wanted some, he could have just asked, but addressing Choso by his real name… this must be serious.
Choso just cocks a brow at him, waiting for some sort of explanation for all this.
“Look, man,” Megumi says, his stern expression not dropping for a second, “I just need you to stay the fuck away from my sister.”
Wait a minute, I thought this was Yuji’s friend? He gives Megumi’s features a long, hard stare when the truth finally hits him. He didn’t just recognize this guy from his drug deals but also from the family photo on your desk. That meant Yuji’s friend was your brother, Megumi.
Choso’s eyes widen, his breaths becoming shallow. He reflects on everything from last night, how you were fighting with your brother, how upset you were in the car. It wasn’t just some dumb sibling argument, Megumi was genuinely looking out for your safety, and the worst part is, he’s right to do so.
Choso takes a final breath, looking back up to Megumi, “I just-”
“Stop.” Megumi’s voice cuts Choso right off. “Don’t even try,” He says, taking on a ruthless tone, “I know what you do, and I don’t want her near any of that.”
Choso takes a second to try and catch his breath, his wrapped hands shaking slightly at his sides. “I would never involve her in anything,” He says, his eyes dropping to the pavement, “I… she means too much to me.”
Megumi looks at Choso for a long moment before he speaks again. “She finally has a good future ahead of her,” Megumi says sharply, “And I’m not going to let her throw that away.”
Choso tries to speak again, but no words come out.
Megumi lets out a guff sigh, looking at Choso’s panicked face numbly. “I’ve already seen what happens when people like you get close to her.”
Choso feels his stomach twist. People like you, the words stinging more than probably intended. In fact, the most painful part about this exchange isn’t what Megumi’s saying, it’s Choso figuring out how alike the two of them really are. I mean, he would do anything to keep his brothers away from his business.
Megumi takes a moment to look around, making sure no one else is around before lowering his voice to a gravelly whisper. “Our older brother…” he huffs out, his eyes glossed over with pure anger, “He almost got her killed doing this shit.”
Choso’s stomach drops. You never talked much about your real family. I mean, Choso knew about Megumi and Gojo, but no one else. Choso starts to pull at his hand wraps, his body becoming full of unwanted, jittery energy.
Before Choso can even try to fathom a reply to that, Megumi takes another breath, looking Choso dead in the eye. “She trusted him too much, and I don’t want that happening again.” Megumi says sternly, “Gojo and I had to spend years helping her get her life back on track,” he says, his jaw clenched so tight it looks painful.
“I- I’m sorry,” Choso says, his words feeling almost foreign as he tries to absorb this new information, “I had no idea.”
“She doesn’t talk about it,” Megumi says gruffly. “No one else even knows we have an older brother at all,” Megumi says with a shrug, “I’d prefer it stays that way.”
“Of… of course,” Choso chokes out with a small nod, bringing his hands up.
Megumi lets Choso’s words sit for a moment, silence brewing between them. Choso’s mind is just racing, his eyes darting across the empty parking lot. He thinks about his brothers, how he would do anything to protect them, and rage starts to simmer in his veins at the thought that your older brother wouldn’t do that for you. But before Choso can even think to say anything else, Megumi finally speaks up.
“I know you care about her,” Megumi says, his voice surprisingly sincere, “But if you really want what’s best for her, you should just back off.”
Choso can’t even get a word in before Megumi simply turns on his heel and walks away. It’s clear he doesn’t want to argue, and it’s painfully clear that he’s not budging. Choso takes a breath, his hands dropping slack against his sides. He watches Megumi walk away, his silhouette disappearing back into the shadows as Choso just stands still, wondering if his love for you was enough of an excuse to stay.
The rest of the day, Choso couldn’t get Megumi out of his head. He still hung out with you, but he felt like he didn’t have the right to be present, to reach for your hand or initiate anything first. When you accused him of being nervous for his match, he simply went along with that, not wanting to bring Megumi up at all because he knew it would hurt you.
He spent that night tossing and turning, refusing to touch weed because of the regional tomorrow. He stared at the ceiling for hours, telling himself how far he would go for you, how the second something seemed off, he would leave. Eventually, he fell asleep, repeating that mantra in his head over and over. But the second you pulled out those crimson handwraps, the promise he'd repeated to himself all night suddenly felt impossible to keep.
“Cho, look!” You say, your radiant voice echoing through the car, "Surprise!"
Up to this point, Choso had spent the whole day trying to come up with a way to honor Megumi’s request and finally leave you alone, but this moment completely destroyed that. He reaches for the crimson wraps slowly, almost cautiously, grabbing them from your palm.
“Where did you find this?” He says the question devoid of any actual meaning.
As excited as he was about the flashy crimson wraps, that's not what got Choso’s attention. It was simply the fact that you went out of your way for him. The gesture makes Choso’s heart race, him turning the roll in his hands almost as if he were checking if it was real or not. He hears your laugh and sees your smile, his brain instantly melting.
"It's perfect, baby.” He says, his thoughts not quite reaching his tongue.
You’re perfect, baby. Plays over and over in his mind as thanks you, as he kisses you, as he finally allows himself to engage with you after yesterday. He'd spent the last day trying to figure out how to leave you without breaking your heart. Instead, you unknowingly reminded him why he'd fallen for you in the first place. He feels the icy tension melting out of his shoulders, a new realization settling in his body. He’s not ready to leave you, and he sure as hell won’t decide for you either. He knew if he walked away, it wouldn't be because you wanted him gone. So if he was going to stay by your side, then he'd spend every day making sure you never had to pay the price for loving him.
Back in the ring, Iori’s words cost Choso some time. He took a couple of unguarded hits to his face and ribs, pushing him back towards the middle of the ring, and now it was on. The arena lights frame Choso and Iori perfectly, both men standing toe to toe in the center of the ring. Choso’s breaths are heavy, his frame dripping with sweat as his eyes lock back on Iori, but then they drift down further.
He looks down at his wrist, a strand of his crimson hand wraps catching the light, reminding him exactly what he was fighting for. Instead of charging Iori, or shouting some petty insult, Choso stayed still, anchoring his feet in the canvas.
Iori immediately takes the bait. Thinking Choso had finally slowed down, he surges forward with another reckless combination, his gloves flying in every direction. The crowd roars as he tries to overwhelm Choso with sheer volume, but Choso doesn't bite, he blocks. He uses his dense muscles to his advantage, each hit Iori lands barely even making a dent.
The crowd is going crazy at this point, everyone on their feet, going crazy for one of RSU’s best fighters. You and Yuji are hollering in the front row, basically screaming every time Choso does anything, and on the side of the ring, things are even crazier. Coach Geto is watching the match intensely, but he doesn’t see the same Choso from his match with Mahito, he sees a disciplined fighter. Only hitting when he has to, taking complete, devastating control of the ring. Todo and Hakari are watching too, cheering Choso on as he helps secure RSU’s win.
And amidst all this chaos, Choso doesn't even bat an eye. He stays focused on his fight, pouring all of his energy into Iori. He keeps blocking consistently, throwing some hits into the mix, completely dominating. On the other hand, Iori is struggling to keep up. Since he’s already used his whole arsenal of combinations, he’s forced to block, and that’s not his strong suit.
Choso starts racking on hits, rocking his frame again and again until finally an uppercut to Iori’s jaw gets him to the ground. The crowd roars as the referee moves to initiate the count.
1… Choso steps away from Iori, practically vibrating in the neutral corner of the ring
2… His gaze drifts towards the front row, everyone blurring together under the arena lights
3… He eventually spots you, waving your arms in the air like a crazed maniac
4… You practically bounce in place, shouting something he can’t hear over the crowd, but he knows it’s for him
5… Yuji notices you jumping up and lets out a laugh, wrapping an arm around your waist to hoist you up the rest of the way, shouting, “Here she is, Kamo!”
6… Choso can’t help the dopey smile tugging at his lips, lifting one of his gloves just enough so you know he’s found you.
7… You’re beaming, reaching towards Choso while Yuji jumps with you in his arms, fully celebrating with you.
8… The entire RSU bench is erupting, Todo and Hakari chest-bumping and shouting at Choso,
“Yes, Brother!” Todo yells, his voice bellowing throughout the ring.
“Welcome back, Kamo!” Hakari says soon after, both of them ecstatic that they had finally gotten their teammate back.
9… Choso hears his friends yelling, but he can’t take his eyes off you, how you're reaching towards him, basking in your beautiful smile and bright energy that’s uniquely yours.
10… He’s done it. Choso has secured RSU’s regional victory and protected his perfect record at the competition. The anxiety that’s been suffocating him since yesterday leaving his chest in one long, shaky breath.
The rest of the celebration was a blur. The announcer joined Choso in the ring, grabbing one of his wrists, and pulling his arm in the air. “Winner, Choso Kamo!”
The crowd went absolutely crazy, the sea of RSU students shouting and celebrating with each other. You and Yuji continued going absolutely wild by the side of the ring, you yelling, “Great job, Cho!” At the top of your lungs. The atmosphere was absolutely electric, and for the first time in weeks, Choso finally felt like himself again. After the celebration, Choso barely sticks around, ripping his gloves off before making a quick stop at the RSU bench.
“Fuck yeah, Choso!” Hakari yells, running up to pull him into a playful embrace and tussling his messy hair.
Todo is right behind him, boxing Choso in between the two of them before he has any chance of escaping.
“You did great out there, bro!” Todo says, giving Choso a pat on the back, “Glad you’re back, brother.”
Choso just lets out a chuckle, pushing both guys away and pulling a hand up to his hair to try and tame it. “Thanks, guys, but I’ll see you in a bit,” He says, the crimson on his cheeks matching his handwraps.
“Party at mine tonight!” Hakari yells as Choso starts walking away, “And you better actually show this time!”
Choso gives Hakari a small wave over his shoulder, turning to run into the locker room real quick. He doesn’t even bother changing his clothes, simply reaching for a towel to wipe off the coat of sweat that’s accumulated on his body. He rubs his bare chest dry, running the towel over his face before finally going on towards the tunnel.
He leans against the brick wall, arms crossed over his chest, doing his absolute best to look like the tough boxer who’d just won RSU the regional championship. Unfortunately, the lovesick grin plastered across his face completely ruins the effect. His cheeks are still flushed a deep crimson, his eyes wandering every few seconds back toward the arena entrance, scanning the crowd for one person in particular.
Eventually, you round the corner, Choso’s entire face lighting up as you run to him. You close the distance between the two of you before Choso can even blink, wrapping your arms around his shoulders and burying your face into his neck. You squeeze him tightly, Choso laughing softly as he puts his arms around you, lifting you off the floor for a moment. You let out an excited squeal into his skin, your legs wrapping around his waist as he holds you against him.
“You were so amazing out there, Cho!” You say, pulling your head up so you can look at him, “I knew you could do it.”
Choso lets out another lap, his wrapped hand coming up to cup your cheek. He pulls your head towards him, stealing a sweet, slow kiss from your lips before lowering you down, his wrapped hands sliding to your waist. “Seeing you in the crowd…” Choso says, his voice raspy from your kiss, “It really helped,” He says, pressing his forehead against yours before claiming your lips again.
The two of you kiss for another moment, eventually pulling away so you can look at Choso’s injuries. His hands stay on your waist, but yours wander, tracing up and down his chest to assess the damage Iori did. “Are you hurting at all, Cho?” You ask, your medical instincts clearly kicking in, even though you’re off duty.
“I’m fine, baby,” Choso says with a chuckle, but his body stiffens the second his eyes wander past your shoulder. About 10 yards away from you, Yuji just rounded the corner, clearly looking for his post-match deal, not knowing you were still around. Choso’s eyes widen practically in sync with Yuji's, both of them having the exact same realization.
Shit. She can’t see us together!
Choso lets out a small sigh, his eyes flicking down for a moment to make sure you're occupied, before mouthing to Yuji a very quick, ‘Go away!’
Yuji, however, stands frozen like an idiot, frantically looking around the tunnel for somewhere to hide.
Choso remains still, trying to avert your suspicions, but unfortunately for him, you’ve noticed his change in expression. “Cho?” you ask, lightly examining a new bruise on his ribs, “Are you sure you’re fine?”
“Yeah,” He says shakily, “All good, baby.” Waiting till you give a satisfied hum to mouth to Yuji again, ‘GO!’
But as if Choso’s luck couldn’t get any worse, some random student behind Yuji drops their water bottle, a loud clang echoing through the tunnel. Yuji lets out a light gasp, and your hands leave Choso’s ribs as you turn towards the noise, Choso intercepting your face at the last second. He desperately frames your face with both of his large, wrapped hands, pulling you in for another kiss before you can turn around.
The second you lock lips, Yuji puts a hand over his mouth, Choso narrowing his eyes at him. He subtly tilts his head to the bathrooms up the tunnel, Yuji finally coming to his senses, basically sprinting away.
You let out a small laugh into Choso’s mouth, finally pulling back before he basically sucked the life out of you simply because he didn’t want you to see Yuji. “Gosh, Cho,” You say between chuckles, your face flushed bright red now, “You really want to get out of here, don’t you?” You say lightly, pushing his shoulder.
“Yeah,” He says with a frantic nod, his eyes still tracking Yuji’s back, “Let me go get my keys, you can wait in the car.”
“Ok,” You say with a smile, Choso giving your waist one more squeeze before he walks off.
Choso slips into the locker room, his hands quickly diving into his gym bag for his keys. He finds them fast, also fishing out Yuji’s stuff and hiding it in the pocket of his boxing trunks. “Jesus Christ,” He mutters, wiping the newly accumulated sweat on his forehead. He walks back to you, handing over the keys and rubbing your shoulder gently.
“I’ll be out in a minute,” He says as he slides the keys into your hand, your fingers caressing his wrapped ones for a moment.
“See you soon,” You say with a small giggle, quickly snatching the keys and walking away.
The second you’re out of his view, Choso walks to the bathroom, shoving the door open with an annoyed grunt. He sees Yuji standing by one of the sinks, a still slightly panicked look on his face as he examines Choso’s intimidating frame.
Without a word, Choso just grabs Yuji by his red hoodie, dragging him to the handicap stall and locking the door behind them. Choso gives Yuji another angry glare, Yuji taking a step back. “What the hell, man!” Choso says in an aggressive whisper, pointing a wrapped finger straight at Yuji’s chest, “You almost blew it!”
“I know, I know,” Yuji whispers back, his back pressing against the wall as he looks up at Choso, “It would have been really bad because I told her I don’t even know you.”
Choso immediately pulls his finger back, immediately face-palming at Yuji’s idiocy. “Dude,” Choso responds, shaking his head, “You at least have the money, right?”
“Always, bro!” Yuji basically yells back, his voice booming through the whole bathroom, the money in his hands, “… Sorry.”
Choso snatches the money, giving it a quick count before reaching into his pocket and slamming Yuji’s goods in his hands. “There.” He says sharply, “I’m leaving now.”
“Bye!” Yuji says, waving at Choso as he leaves the stall, looking at his haul with an excited gleam in his eyes.
Choso just opens the door with a groan, rolling his eyes as he makes his way back to the locker room.
𝕽𝖊𝖆𝖉𝖊𝖗 POV
As you walk away from Choso, another small giggle escapes you. Watching him in the ring, his bare, muscular chest under the light, his face all scrunched up, made your body heat up instantly. As much as you actually wanted to see your boyfriend box, you were too busy watching the way the muscles on his back moved, literally having to bite your lip as you felt your panties getting more damp by the minute.
In fact, the second Choso pulled you in for the last, long, suffocating kiss that sealed the deal. You knew you wanted him, and after such a big win, you were ready to celebrate him your own way. Once the keys were in your hand, you basically speed walked out of the arena, pushing through the crowd just so you could get to Choso’s car. You walk outside briskly, the cold night air hitting your bare legs instantly. Even though you were wearing Choso’s massive RSU hoodie, your black miniskirt underneath wasn’t doing much to keep you warm.
You continue making your way towards the car, finally reaching the passenger side when your eyes fall somewhere else. Instead of simply opening the passenger door, you slowly crawl your eyes to the back seat, a small grin forming on your face. You dropped your hand, opening the backseat and getting in without a second thought. You close the door behind you, leaning against it and splaying your practically bare legs over Choso’s dark seats, leaning over only to drop your purse over the front seat.
Every second feels like an eternity, the feeling of your slick on your panties making it feel even more electrifying, you begin swiping your own finger up and down the top of your thigh, occasionally glancing by the arena exit to see if Choso’s coming. Ever since the roof, Choso’s taken it slow with you for a college relationship. I mean, you’ve been dating for over 2 weeks and have only made out, and even before you started dating, you found yourself fantasizing about Choso, that alone makes your clit whine for attention. Now you were practically ready to beg.
But before you could get too far in your delusions, you finally see his silhouette come out of the arena. His hair is hanging loose, framing his face and lightly damp from his shower, a pair of sweatpants and a zip up hoodie clinging to his frame, his gym bag slung over his shoulder.
You quickly rip your hand off your thigh, fiddling with the hem of his hoodie in anticipation. Your heart is beating against your ribs, your face burning and clit throbbing. Choso opens the trunk, throwing his bag in there before going to get in the car, but the second he sees you in the backseat, he pauses, opening the door and cocking a brow at you.
“What are you doing back here, baby?” He says, giving your shoe a playful pat.
You let out a flustered giggle, leaning over to clutch one of his now bare hands, bringing his fingers between yours. “I just thought we could celebrate your big win,” You murmur, your voice hitting an erotic frequency Choso’s never heard before, “You know… properly.”
The playful smirk Choso has immediately disintegrates, the shift being instantaneous. His fingers instantly tighten around yours, his pupils so dilated his eyes are almost completely black. “Properly?” He repeats, his voice turning into a low rumble that vibrates straight through your chest. He doesn’t even bother waiting for an explanation, the look on your face doing the rest of the talking. He slides into the backseat over you, pulling the door shut behind him with a heavy thud.
The space between the two of you is completely nonexistent now, Choso’s chest pressing into yours as he grabs your jaw. He presses his lips into yours once again, his other hand settling on your bare thigh as his tongue glides past your lips.
At this point, the warmth of his palm pressing into your thigh drives you crazy, your hands flying to Choso’s muscular shoulders for balance as he continues to drink you in. He groans needily into your mouth, no longer allowing himself to hold back. This isn’t like the cautious kisses he’s been giving you for the past 2 weeks, this time, he’s kissing you like he’s starving, tongue tangling with yours in an intoxicating rhythm. His hand on your thigh slowly starts to slide upward, his palm dragging against your skin and pushing the fabric of his own hoodie up to your waist.
You let out a surprised whimper into the kiss, seeming to completely push him over the edge. His grip on your jaw tightens slightly, tilting your head, while his other hand slides all the way up to the waistband of your black miniskirt. Both of you part for a moment, your foreheads pushing together as you catch your breath in hot, shallow rasps, quickly fogging up the car's windows. Good thing Choso parked in the corner of the lot.
“You’re so warm, baby,” Choso mutters against your lips, his fingers starting to tangle in your waistband ever so slightly. His eyes are completely blown out now, tracking the flushed, desperate look on your face. “Tell me what you want,” Choso says breathlessly.
You swallow hard, your heart hammering a frantic rhythm against his chest. You look up into his dark eyes, your fingers tightening in the fabric of his hoodie at his shoulders. "You," you whisper, the honesty of it slipping out of you before you can even think to be shy, "I want you, Choso, please."
“Ok, yeah,” He murmurs with a slight nod, his forehead still pressed hard against yours as his grip tightens around your waistband, “I need you so bad right now.”
Choso’s words barely escape his lips before his hand slowly sinks below your skirt, his hesitation completely stripped away. His palm is warm and massive against your lower stomach, his fingers effortlessly trailing down and tucking under your panties. He moves them aside, dropping his face into the crook of your neck and beginning to cover it in gentle kisses. At the same time, his fingers finally press against your aching heat, dragging slowly along your folds to gather your slick.
You let out a soft gasp, Choso’s touch completely scorching against your slick pussy. He keeps moving his head up your neck, his lips eventually finding your pulse point, your heart beating rapidly against them. You feel your breaths starting to become hot and heavy as Choso continues exploring you, his thumb rubbing dizzying circles on your clit and fingers finally slipping into your pussy. Your wet walls clench around him as he eases in, the tight, burning fullness of his fingers inside you making your hips buck into him.
Choso lets out a groan into your neck, his frame shuddering at just how utterly soaked you are for him. Once his fingers are fully burrowed inside you, he lets you adjust to the girth, simply holding his hand still for a second before moving slowly. His hot breath continues to coat your skin, his damp, loose hair brushing against your jaw.
“You’re so tight, baby,” he rasps, his fingers beginning to move a bit faster, his thumb stroking you clit at a steady pace, “And so wet… I love it so much.”
As his fingers continue to drag in and out of you, a loud whimper breaks free from your lips, heat pooling deep in your stomach.
The second Choso hears you whimper like that, his post-fight adrenaline seems to kick in, his fingers pumping in and out of you rapidly now, your hands moving from his muscular shoulders to his hair, pulling his dark locks between your fingers as you feel your orgasm approaching.
But, right as the heat inside you hits its peak, Choso pulls his fingers out, his thumb brushing against your clit one final time before he pulls his head away from your neck. Right as you're catching your breath, though, he leans back in, stealing a short, steamy kiss from your lips. His hand slides down till his fingers curl around the sensitive skin of your inner thigh, his eyes flicking to yours for a second as he breathes raggedly.
“I don’t think I can stop,” Choso huffs out between breaths, completely lost in you, his hand starting to pry your thighs apart.
“Please, don’t,” You whisper, your heart skipping a beat as you see Choso move to kneel on the floorboards of the car.
He settles on the floor, his giant hands reaching to part your thighs as you tilt your hips to give him better access. He squeezes the soft skin of your thighs gently, pulling his face right between your thighs. He starts small, his hot breath tickling your cunt slightly as he leans down, gathering some of your slick with tiny, kitten licks.
The small, soft brushes of his tongue against your sensitive skin make your toes curl, a desperate shiver running straight down your spine. But Choso doesn’t keep you waiting for long.
He leans in fully, his warm tongue dragging all the way up your slick folds slow and heavy. It meets your throbbing clit with an agonizingly perfect amount of pressure, making you let out a loud, breathless cry that fills the car.
Your fingers instantly tangle back into his hair, holding him close as Choso begins to swirl his tongue in fast circles. He uses his massive hands on your thighs to steady you, anchoring your hips against the seat as his head moves back and forth in a relentless rhythm.
Every lap of his tongue sends more heat straight to your core, your body completely surrendering to him. “Cho, please!” You cry out, grasping his hair tighter as your orgasm comes on again.
He lets out a low, muffled groan against you, only pressing deeper, his tongue moving faster as he drinks you in greedily. He knows exactly how close you are, working at a relentless pace as he feels you start to let yourself go.
Within seconds, your body completely gives out, your thighs clamping tightly against his head as you release. A blinding wave of euphoria crashes over you, your chest heaving, one last, soft moan slipping past your lips as you cum hard against his tongue.
Choso groans into you again, his hands anchoring your thighs during your climax. He continues to lap at your heat, gliding through your folds to collect every last drop of your release, his chin still dripping with it by the time he pushes himself up, sitting back next to you.
He lets out a deeply satisfied sigh as he looks at your flushed face, at how your features are painted with the same feeling. “Let's get cleaned up, baby,” He says, the playful smirk from earlier forming on his face, “We have a party to go to.”
Summary: In this reader insert, you’re an overworked college student, working long nights at the university clinic and having to balance a severe amount of classwork in your downtime. You find yourself running on caffeine, weed, and unfulfilled urges, when all of a sudden, the clinic's most consistent patient starts to become more.
You practically collapse on your bed, curling into a small ball and not even trying to hold back your tears. Today was absolutely horrible. You see, you are a college student, usually always on time, productive, and happy, but today was the total opposite.
You slept through your alarm and almost missed your final, which you had to walk to in the pouring rain, and of course, you forgot your umbrella. And by the time you got to the lecture hall, your white tank top was basically see-through, the boys in the back row raking their eyes over your chest before you even noticed.
Not to mention, you were so flustered that you absolutely bombed the test anyway, your brain turned to mush by the time you went to turn it in. You left the lecture hall already in tears, stopping in the bathroom to cry and sending a desperate text to your boyfriend.
To: Yuta 🫶
Can you come over later?
To: Yuta 🫶
Please I really need you
You clicked your phone off, trying to gain a semblance of composure before walking out. You didn’t even bother to check if Yuta responded, your phone motionless in your back pocket.
Meanwhile, Yuta was walking around the mall with Maki and Inumaki when he saw your texts, the three of them just coming out of the record store. He holds the phone in his hand for a second, eyes narrowed at your message. “Oh, no,” he mutters under his breath, fingers a bit shaky as he tries to think of a reply. Yuta knew you had your final today, and, seeing you begging him to come over, he assumed the worst.
“What’s going on?” Maki says, looking over her shoulder at Yuta, her arms crossed in the entryway of the next store, “You look like you just saw a ghost.”
Inumaki nods in agreement as the two of them step closer to Yuta, whose eyebrows are raised in a concerned arch and has his eyes still completely trained on the phone screen.
He lets out a sigh, looking at his friends with genuine concern. “It’s her,” he murmurs, his voice stripped of his casual shopping mood, “something must have happened with her final, she sounds really upset.” He rubs the back of his neck, frantically trying to type out a reply with his other hand, “She never texts me like this.”
Maki and Inumaki exchange a quick look, Maki’s arms dropping to her sides. “Go take care of her,” she says with a reassuring nod, “we can take the bus back.”
“Are you sure, I-“
“Go,” Maki says firmly.
“Ok, ok,” Yuta says, putting his hands out, “But she seems really heartbroken, I feel like I should get her something.” He starts nervously looking at stores around, his eyes scanning every window for something that could possibly lift your spirits.
Luckily, Maki follows his anxious gaze, her eyes landing on the window display of the boutique right next to the record store. Inumaki follows too, pointing at the colorful array of blindboxes.
“Why don’t you get her one of these stupid green things?” Maki says, her eyes fixed on the blindboxes. “What are they called?” She says, putting her hand on her chin.
“Smiskis!” Inumaki interjects excitedly, his voice slightly muffled through his scarf.
“Oh, right,” Maki shrugs, “Get a Smiski, people are like obsessed with them right now.”
“A Smiski?” Yuta says, raising an eyebrow, now looking at the blindboxes with them, “You think I should get my crying girlfriend a little green plastic person?”
“Yes, idiot,” Maki says, pushing him lightly towards the store entrance, “It would be a good distraction for her.”
Inumaki lets out a hum, nodding along. He grabs Yuta by the wrist, dragging him to the store right by the Smiski display and handing him a box.
Yuta turns the box over in his hands, looking at the various different smiskis on the back. “Yeah…” he says with a smile, this might actually work.” Now he finds himself knocking on your door, a Smiski blind box hidden behind his back.
The second you hear him knock, you let out one final sob, slowly padding across the floor to your door. You open it just a crack, Yuta’s stomach twisting as he sees your puffy eyes and how you’re shivering in your damp clothes. He quickly steps inside, closing the door and wrapping his free arm around you.
“I’m here, baby, I’m here,” he murmurs into your hair, holding you firmly against his side for a moment. He starts coaxing you to the dresser, picking out some pajama pants and one of his hoodies to wear. He helps you into the clothes, sitting on the edge of the bed with you now that you’re dry.
Yuta wraps his arm around your waist, pulling you into his side so you can rest your head on his shoulder. The soft fabric of his hoodie is comforting and warm, completely replacing the chill of the lecture hall as you let out a watery sigh into his neck.
The two of you sit in silence for a moment, Yuta waiting till your breathing calms down before slowly taking his hand out from behind his back. “I grabbed you something at the mall,” Yuta murmurs, pressing a soft kiss to your temple, “I thought it might cheer you up.” He sets the bright smiski box gently on your lap, giving your waist a squeeze.
You blink the remaining moisture from your eyes, slowly lifting your head from his shoulder and taking the box in your hands. You turn it over in your palms, tracing ridges of the hexagon, as you look at the pictures on the sides. “Is this a Smiski?” You croak out, your voice small and raspy from crying, but a small smile starts to tug at your lips.
Yuta lets out a sigh of relief, the tension in his shoulders starting to dissolve. He pulls you a little closer to him, his chest rumbling with a light chuckle. “Yeah,” he says, rubbing his hand against your waist, “Toge practically dragged me into the store to get it, but now I see why,” He says, looking at your face, now completely dry and smiling.
You let out an excited squeal, your fingers picking at the seal on the top of the box, the Smiski box now taking up your full attention. The cardboard gives way with a satisfying rip, and you immediately reach into the box, peeling open the silver bag inside.
Yuta just lets out another laugh seeing how excited you are, looking at how your eyes widen when the little green figure tumbles into your palm.
You immediately clutch the figure in your fist, its goofy stance making you laugh a little too. You set it down on your nightstand, looking up to Yuta.
“Thank you,” You say, pulling him into a tight hug, “Today just got a lot better."

Chapter Summary: After your fight with Megumi, you're surprised to find yourself still in Choso's bed, but as the day goes on, he seems to be a little off.
𝕲𝖔𝖔𝖉 𝕷𝖚𝖈𝖐 𝕮𝖍𝖆𝖗𝖒
As you finally awoke from your much needed sleep, you realized that today was different. You didn’t toss and turn restlessly for hours last night, you didn’t wake up with the taste of smoke in your mouth and a headache, and you most certainly weren’t as tired as you usually were. But only when you began to move around did you realize the true difference. Instead of being alone in your bed, you woke up in Choso’s arms, wrapped up in his sheets.
The two of you had both fallen asleep around the same time last night, Choso still holding you exactly how he was before. His muscular arm was draped around your waist, and your head was still lying on his bicep, the big muscle there making the perfect pillow. You shift slightly, letting out a sleepy groan as you look to see if Choso’s awake.
The second you start to move, Choso’s eyes slowly crack open, his body stiffening just a fraction under yours. He immediately notices the lines of sunshine radiating across the bed, his face slightly confused as he looks down at you. “What time is it?” He grumbles, his voice thick with sleep. He runs a hand through his messy hair, his other arm still under your head.
You reach blindly for your phone on the nightstand, squinting against the bright morning light as you look at the screen. You let out a hum. “It’s almost ten,” you mumble, your voice slightly raspy as you let out a yawn. You shift onto your side so you can look at Choso better, his arm coming out from under your head to swipe a stray hair behind your ear.
“Ten?” He says, his eyes widening suddenly as you both come to the same realization.
The two of you actually slept. It’s almost weird, waking up without being tired or hungover as shit. Especially after everything that happened last night, you should have woken up alone and exhausted. You let your eyes rake over Choso’s figure for a moment, your cheeks already flushing a bright red despite your just getting up. You let out a light chuckle, your arms flying out to wrap around his shoulders before you can even think about it.
The force of your hug was unexpected, sending Choso from his side onto his back and pulling you onto his chest. His arms snake around your waist, his head buried in the crook of your neck. He lets out a quiet laugh against your skin, one of his hands rubbing slow circles into your back. “Good morning,” He murmurs with a slight laugh, pulling his head back to look at you.
Instead of responding right away, you simply look down at him. How his hair is going every which way, how he’s looking at you, the sun making his eyes glow amber instead of their usual dark brown. You feel entranced, sprawled out across his bare chest, his muscular arms wrapped around you. All the weight from yesterday, the fight, didn’t matter right now, all you cared about was being with him. You let your hand wander to his jaw, lightly tilting his head up so he can meet your gaze.
His lips melt into a soft smile, one of his hands creeping to the back of your neck to pull you in. His movements are slow, your lips meeting in a soft, almost syrupy morning kiss. Your thumb strokes his jaw softly, Choso letting out a satisfied hum into your mouth. After basking in each other for another moment, the two of you pull away, Choso resting his forehead against yours. He lets himself study your features, his thumb brushing the back of your neck mindlessly.
You sit in silence for a second, a small smile tugging at your lips. “Thank you,” you say, your voice quiet, but your words leveling the room. “For last night,” You continue, “It really means a lot to me.” Usually, you’re not the type to verbalize your feelings or anything like that, but waking up today and the first thoughts in your head being of Choso instead of the fight with Megumi was a pleasant surprise.
Choso moves his hand from your neck, running his fingers through your hair. “I… uh, I’m just glad you’re still here,” he says, his voice dropping to a low, tender register you’ve never quite heard out of him before.
“Me too,” You say, letting out a small giggle, hearing Choso say something so vulnerable and sweet, making your heart flutter. You lay your head on his bare chest, lightly tracing the definition of his collarbone as he continues to play with your hair.
“Y’know, Todo doesn’t leave for his class till eleven,” Choso murmurs against your hair, “You could stay till then.”
“My quiz isn’t till noon anyway,” you hum, your thumb still moving absentmindedly on his collarbone, “and what time is the weigh-in for tomorrow?”
“One,” Choso says, his hand stopping for a split second at the mention of the regional, “But I was planning on going to the gym at noon, so I could drop you off.”
“You don’t have to,” You say, your voice a small vibration on his chest.
“I know,” Choso says, moving his hand through your hair once again, “I want to.” He says, his other hand giving your waist a gentle squeeze, “We could eat after, too.”
You feel yourself start to smile, letting out a soft laugh. “Ok, yeah, Cho, that sounds nice.”
The two of you stay tangled up just like that till exactly eleven, your head still perched on Choso’s chest, his heart thumping lightly against your ear as you continue talking in lazy murmurs. His hands are soft, moving from your hair to draw slow, tender circles on your hip through the lounge pants he gave you.
Eventually, though, the time comes, and both of you are forced to part ways and get out of bed. The second your bare feet hit the cold floor, you immediately want to crawl under the covers again, but Choso distracts you with a squeeze on the shoulder. You put your socks and shoes back on, about to grab your backpack when Choso intercepts it instead.
“I got it,” he says, throwing the bag over his shoulder and giving you a lazy smirk, “Let's go.”
You give him a nod, grabbing your water bottle off the nightstand and slipping it in the cup holder as you make your way out of his dorm. He walks you down to your floor, giving you a quick peck before sliding your bag into his hand.
“I’ll meet you in the garage at like 11:45.” You nod, taking your bag from him but letting your fingers linger in his for a second.
“Ok, see you then,” He says, brushing your hair out of your face before you turn to the door.
You walk down to your room, quickly unlocking it, and attempting to sneak through the kitchen swiftly.
“Where do you think you’re going?”
Dammit. You look to your left, only to be greeted by Maki and Yuta sprawled out on the couch, both looking at you intensely. Well, Maki was looking at you intensely while Yuta’s features contorted in the best ‘scary’ face he could manage.
You let out a sigh, Choso’s big, baggy clothes draped on your frame not doing you any favors whatsoever.
“So,” Maki coos, “You never came back last night, did you?” Her tone is already making you wish you had just cut your losses and stayed in Choso’s bed all day.
“I… um, no,” you admit, your gaze dropping to the floor instead of meeting either of theirs. You'd had a feeling Maki figured it out a while ago, but after everything that happened with Megumi, the thought of having this conversation again made your stomach twist. As much as you wanted to tell them about Choso, you couldn't handle another reaction like that. Not today.
“Clinic guy, right?”
"Maybe,” you say after a moment, still frozen in place in the kitchen.
“Well,” an unexpected voice murmurs from the couch. Usually, Yuta let Maki do all the talking in these situations, as much as he was your friend, he usually wasn’t invested in stuff like this and flat out just didn’t know what was going on most of the time. “We just wanted to tell you that we support you.”
“What?”
Yuta clears his throat, dropping his ‘scary’ face entirely to look at you sincerely. “You’ve just seemed so much happier lately,” he says with a smile, “and we don’t want you to feel like you have to sneak around.”
“Yeah,” Maki interjects, “As long as he treats you right, we don’t care who he is.”
The second you hear those words, you feel a huge weight lift off your chest. After the emotional beatdown you went through yesterday, it felt good to know there were still people in your corner, even if Megumi was still skeptical.
You feel your face start to burn, your heart doing a little flutter in your chest. “Really?” You say, looking up at both of them in complete shock. Out of all the outcomes you mapped out in your head, this wasn’t one.
"Of course,” Yuta says with a nod, “We know you need this right now.”
“We’re tired of you moping around,” Maki says with an exaggerated eye roll, “it was starting to get depressing.”
You let out a light laugh, feeling a slight flush crawl up your neck. “Thanks, guys, seriously,” you say with a sigh, “You have no idea how much I needed to hear that.”
Both of them exchange a confused look at how relieved you are, but shrug it off as you walk back to your room.
The second you close your door, you let out a deep breath, slumping down on your bed and covering your face with your hands. Your entire body is burning with an undeniable heat, and not just because you’re wrapped up in Choso’s clothes. Your lips curl into a soft smile behind your hands, and for once you don’t feel overworked or stressed, just refreshed, and you plan on basking in that for a long time.
You let yourself enjoy the feeling for another moment before forcing yourself back onto your feet. You swap Choso’s lounge pants for a pair of shorts but keep his hoodie on, brush your hair into a claw clip, and make a quick stop in the bathroom before grabbing your backpack once more.
“Alright,” you murmur, smoothing the front of the oversized hoodie. “Ready.”
You walk out, swiping a granola bar from the counter and giving Maki and Yuta a quick goodbye. You practically fly down the stairwell, wanting nothing more than to see Choso even though you’ve only been apart for like 20 minutes. You eventually make it to the parking garage, Choso’s car already humming a few spots away from the door. You can see him in the windshield, absentmindedly drumming his fingers against the wheel, but the second he sees you walking over, the corners of his mouth lift into a smile.
You give him a small wave, making your way to the car and dropping your backpack in the backseat. By the time you open the passenger door, Choso’s hand has already moved from the wheel, hovering above the center console as you sit down. He cups your cheek the second the door is closed, tilting your head towards his so he can steal a quick kiss.
You let out a small giggle, kissing him back for a moment before pulling away. “Missed me?” You say with another laugh, moving his hand from your face back to its usual spot on your thigh.
“Always, baby,” Choso says with a chuckle, giving your bare thigh a squeeze. “You ready for your quiz?”
You let out a grumble, putting your hand on top of his and tracing his knuckles as he drives off, “Hopefully,” You say with a sharp exhale, “I mean, I’m feeling pretty refreshed after last night so…”
“Oh, really?” Choso says, his lips curving into a smirk, “Maybe you should sleep over more often then.”
You let out a scoff, taking your hand off Choso’s to lightly push his shoulder, “You’re so full of yourself, Cho!”
“Am I wrong?”
The question cuts through the car, your hand freezing over his for a second. You feel your cheeks start turning red, the car suddenly getting a whole lot warmer. Like you literally have to avert Choso from your gaze before the heat starts pooling in your stomach. “Your bed’s just comfier than mine, that's all,” you say with a sigh, your voice conveying how truly flustered you are.
“Whatever you say, baby,” Choso says, tightening his grip on your thigh just a fraction for the rest of the drive.
Eventually, he pulls up right outside of the medical building, moving his hand to put the car in park. He reaches into the backseat, grabbing your backpack, and settling it into your lap gently. “I know you’ll crush it,” he says, placing a warm hand on your shoulder, “Text me right when you’re out, and I’ll come get you.”
You give him a nod, getting ready to leave the car, when you realize Choso is going to the gym. “Wait a second, Cho,” you say, moving your backpack from your lap to the floor and reaching into the side door. Whenever you realized Choso basically never wrapped his hands outside of when you did it, you started stashing tape everywhere. In your bag, in his car, honestly, wherever you could think of. This man was not going to have swollen or split knuckles ever again. You pull the black tape out of the door, peeling up the corners. “Hands, please.”
Choso lets out a soft grumble but puts his hands in front of you immediately, letting your fingers work. You wrap both of his hands with practiced ease, giving the tape on his left one final tug before pulling away.
“Ok, now I’m ready,” you say with a small laugh, taking one of Choso’s freshly wrapped hands in yours and giving it a squeeze.
Choso squeezes back, looking at his wrapped hands with a smirk. “Good luck, baby,” he says, reluctantly releasing your hand so you can get out of the car.
"Thanks, Cho!” You say as you get out, “See you soon.”
Choso gives you a small wave as you walk into the medical building, your hand still warm from where he was holding it. The smile on your face lingers all the way to the front doors, only fading when the reality of the day finally catches up with you. The quiz you’re taking today is worth a good chunk of your grade, but every time you try to focus, your mind goes somewhere else. To Choso and how comfortable you felt in his space, or to Megumi and the words neither of you would be able to take back.
You let out a hard sigh, your stomach pooling with anxiety instead of warmth now. “Goddammit,” You mutter under your breath as you take your hand in your own, trying to replicate the warmth of Choso’s touch to feel a semblance of calm. Then you pull out your phone, your thumb hovering above Megumi’s contact to text an apology, but you just shove it back in your pocket instead.
And now you’re sitting in the back corner of the lecture hall, staring down at your quiz with wide eyes. You see, you’re not a bad student, quite the opposite, actually, but right now you’re at a severe disadvantage. After your call with Megumi last night, when you scattered your notecards all over the gym floor, about half the material you needed to review went with them. You rake a hand through your hair, tapping your foot against the floor in a nervous rhythm.
You let out a sharp breath, the words on the page suddenly looking foreign, your pencil starting to tremble between your fingers. Come on, you think to yourself, squeezing your eyes shut for just a second to try and force the panic back down. One bad night didn’t erase weeks of studying, I mean, you know this stuff like the back of your hand, right?
Suddenly, you pull your free hand away from the paper, gripping your wrist softly. You remember Choso’s words to you in the car, [I know you’ll crush it and you take a deep breath, your hand finally steadying. You spend the next hour looking through the questions, the material coming back to your brain slowly. The memory of Choso’s hand in yours makes your shoulders loosen, and you make it through the quiz eventually. Was it your best? No, definitely not, but it wasn’t a total disaster either.
You hand the paper to your professor, walking out of the lecture hall with a new lightness about you. “I’m so glad that’s over,” you mutter, pulling out your phone to text Choso.
To: Cho ♥️
Just got out 😸
To: Cho ♥️
Hope weigh-ins are going good!!
You send the texts, plopping down on a bench outside as you wait for him to show up. It’s only 1:15, so you figure he’s still a couple of minutes away, leaning on the wall behind you to get comfortable. The second you put your phone down, you feel it vibrate against your pocket. “Seriously,” you mumble, picking it back up and glancing at the screen.
Incoming call from: Yuji 😛
You sigh, your thumb hovering over the accept button hesitantly for a moment before you finally push it down. You don’t want to be mad at Yuji, you really don’t, but it’s so hard. You pinch the bridge of your nose, letting out a sharp breath as you hear his voice come through the speaker.
“Hey…” he says, his guilty tone already making your stomach twist, “got a minute?”
“Yeah,” you say with a huff, “I’m just waiting for Choso to pick me up.”
You hear Yuji let out a long sigh. “I’m really sorry,” he says, his voice lacking its usual excited energy, “Megumi told me about the fight.”
“Yuji…”
“I promise I wasn’t trying to tell him!” Yuji pleads, “I just cracked open my new bag of edibles and got carried away… and it just slipped, I swear I didn’t-“
“I know,” You say, leaning against the park bench and staring at the sky, “Yuji, I know you didn’t mean to.”
“I just, ugh, I should have just gone to bed!” Yuji says, letting out a grunt, “I’m so stupid.”
“Yeah,” You mutter, “You are.”
“That’s fair,” Yuji says, his voice reduced to a sad murmur, “I’m just so sorry, really, I should have been more careful I-“
“Yuji, it’s fine,” You say, resting your chin on your palm, “I’m not mad at you, it just sucked having to deal with all that last night.”
“I know,” Yuji says with a partially relieved sigh, “Megumi said you really went off, he was surprised I slept through it all.”
“Me too,” You say with a shallow laugh, devoid of any actual humor, “I don’t think I’ve ever yelled at him like that.”
“You guys going to be ok?”
You let out a slow breath, your fingers curling into the sleeve of Choso’s hoodie. “Probably, I just can’t talk to him right now.” You let out another sigh, “He’s my brother, and I know we’ll figure it out… but I just need some time.”
Yuji lets your words hang for a moment. “I get it,” He says, “He’ll come around eventually, he’s stubborn, but he loves you.”
“I know,” you say with a faint smile, “You’re still going to the matches tomorrow, right?”
“Of course!” Yuji says, finally regaining his usual enthusiasm, “It’s the start of tournament season, I wouldn’t miss it!”
“Ok, good,” you say, your mood lifting by the thought of watching Choso tomorrow, “Save me a seat, would you? And try to get close.”
“For sure!” Yuji says, Choso’s car pulling up to the curb the second Yuji finishes speaking.
“Alright, I have to go,” you say, “I’ll see you then.”
“See you!”
You quickly hit the hangup button, grabbing your backpack and booking it straight to your favorite beat-up sedan. As much as you wanted to go off on Yuji, call him an idiot and all those things, you knew deep down it wouldn’t fix anything. Plus, you didn’t want to sit by yourself tomorrow.
You practically skip up to Choso’s car, throwing your bag in the back and sitting right in the passenger seat. You let out a big sigh, slowly turning to Choso, but instead of greeting you with a lazy smirk, he had a different look on his face. His eyes lacked their usual glimmer, and the rest of his features were just as dull. His wrapped hands were simply gripping the wheel, not gravitating towards you like they usually did.
“Hey, Cho!” You say with a smile, hoping to brighten the mood, “How’d it go at the gym?”
For a second, Choso stays silent. He doesn’t move or even drive, just staring at the windshield before finally letting himself look at you. He lets out a sharp breath, his hands tensing on the wheel for a moment. “I- uh, sorry,” He murmurs, shaking his head slightly, “It was fine, everything was fine.”
“Ok,” you coo, putting one of your hands on top of his. He eases his grip on the wheel but doesn’t let his hand melt into yours like it usually does, his wraps simply rubbing against your palm. The smile on your face starts to dissolve, your eyes combing over his features slowly, only to see that he had that same empty look on his face.
“Are you sure you’re ok?” You say after bearing the silence for another second. I mean, you and Choso have been dating for long enough now that you can feel when something’s off. The way he’s carrying himself tells you that he’s hiding something. But then you think deeper about it, how tomorrow is his first match after 3 weeks, and the last one landed him in the clinic, beaten to shit.
You let out a rough sigh, your hand still lingering over his. “Hey,” you murmur, giving his wrapped knuckles a small squeeze, “It’s ok to be nervous.”
Choso lets out a small huff, his eyes darting to yours for a second, “hm?”
“For tomorrow,” You say, offering him a reassuring smile, “I know it’s really important.” You give his hand a small pat, shifting it away so he can start driving. “It would be weird if you weren’t nervous.”
You see his expression falter for a second, his usual ironclad composure starting to crack. “Yeah…” he mumbles, his hand gripping the gear shift, “You’re right.”
You scoot a little closer to his chair, deliberately rubbing your shoulder against his as he starts to drive off. “You’re going to do so amazing, Cho,” You laugh softly, already imagining him in the ring, “And I’ll be right there the whole time.”
The rest of the drive was pretty similar, Choso responding to you in short mumbles or simple nods, his eyes still slightly lacking their usual spark. You assumed it was just pre-fight nerves, trying to ground him with your presence and boost his confidence, but nothing was quite working. So, you kept talking about anything, really.
How you almost completely blanked on your quiz, Maki and Yuta giving you a heart attack the second you walked into your room, and even playing some reels Gojo sent you on Instagram. Every now and then you’d hear him let out a quiet laugh, each one making your smile a bit bigger.
But, no matter what you tried that afternoon, Choso never quite settled back into himself. Lunch came and went, and you even spent a few hours tucked away in his dorm afterward, hoping some quiet time together would ease whatever was weighing on him, but it never did. Every smile looked just a little forced and every laugh ended a little too quickly. You chalked it up to tomorrow’s match, convincing yourself that anyone would be nervous before regionals.
Now Saturday had finally arrived, and the two of you are in his car, sitting together outside the boxing arena. Since RSU is hosting the regional this year, it means you get to spend some quality time with him before he has to go in. Plus, you’ve been waiting all morning to show him a surprise you’ve managed to get your hands on.
True, you had athletic tape everywhere, and you wouldn’t even be able to see your wrap job under his gloves anyway, but when you were digging around the clinic storage closet during your shift and somehow manifested a roll of crimson hand wraps, you were ecstatic. Not basic black or white, but crimson. It would be like Choso had the crimson serpent wrapped masterfully around his fists, and the second you pulled them out of your bag, you couldn’t contain your excitement anymore.
“Cho, look,” You say, holding the tape out in your palm, "Surprise!"
For the first time since yesterday morning, you finally see Choso’s face light up. His eyes widen just a fraction as he reaches toward your open palm almost hesitantly, letting his fingertips brush over the crimson fabric before carefully taking the roll into his hands.
“Where did you find this?” Choso says, turning over the tape in his palms.
“In the back of the storage closet at the clinic, can you believe it?” You say with a smile and a small giggle, “Isn’t the color just great!”
He looks at the tape for a moment longer, stroking his thumb over it slowly. “It’s perfect, baby.”
For a second, he just looks at you. At the smile on your face, at the way you’re watching him with that same excitement you’d had since pulling the wraps out of your bag. His eyes soften a bit as he looks down at the wraps, carefully setting them in his lap. He reaches across the center console, taking your hand in his before guiding it up to rest against the side of his neck. His fingers trail gently along your wrist until his other hand comes up to cup your cheek.
“Thank you,” he whispers, his lips mere inches from meeting yours. Once they do, it’s slow and lingering, Choso’s rigid frame finally melting into yours. The tension he’d been carrying since yesterday seems to dissolve little by little as he leans into you, like for just a moment he can forget everything waiting on the other side of the arena doors.
Eventually, though, the two of you part, Choso finally sporting the lovesick smirk you’ve been missing. “You’re going to do so great out there, Cho,” You say, trailing your hand down his chest to grab the tape in his lap. “Now let me give you my new good luck charm.”
You take one of his hands in yours, peeling the corner of the fresh crimson tape and wrapping it around his knuckles and fingers. You take your time, going over each bump and ridge with practiced precision, the crimson contrasting sharply with his pale skin. Eventually, you finish both of his hands, Choso admiring how the color catches the light for a moment.
You bring one of your hands up to his, tracing the wraps lightly. “There,” you say, pushing the tape down, “Now it’ll be like I’m in there with you.”
Choso gives your hand a tight squeeze and lets out a deep sigh, “I’ll remember that.”
The two of you stay there for a moment, your hands intertwined, before you hear a knock on the driver's side window. Hakari peeks his head into the car, giving you a polite nod before turning his attention to Choso.
“Kamo, They’re ready for us.”

~ Immediately Following Cat and Mouse - Part III (Chapter 22) ~
The second Yuta left from dropping Maki’s glasses off at your room, he knew something was wrong. He went back up to his floor, coming into his dorm room with a defeated sigh. Inumaki immediately looks up from the couch, a gaming controller still in his hand. He cocks a brow, his mouth drawn into a thin line.
“Inumaki, I feel like something's going on that I don’t know about,” he says, plopping down on the couch.
Inumaki lets out a confused hum, turning off the TV so he can listen to his roommate.
“I went down to Maki’s room, and I was about to leave when no one answered the door, but then I heard some footsteps, and when her roommate answered the door, she was completely out of breath.”
Inumaki tilts his head.
“And then she told me she was doing cardio.” Yuta sighs. “In a hoodie and pants.”
“...What?”
“That's what I thought!” Yuta says, throwing his hands up. “Then she said she was trying to lose weight, which is just totally ridiculous!”
Inumaki's eyebrows knit together in thought. He recalls the last time he saw you, how you were walking Choso back to his dorm, all flustered, and explicitly told him not to say anything. His eyes narrow ever so slightly, but he decides to stay true to your agreement. Plus, watching Yuta completely misinterpret everything was pretty fun.
Yuta continues rambling, while Inumaki simply nods along. Yuta’s worries only grow until a knock echoes through the room. He gets up to answer, Maki standing in the doorway with her computer under her arm.
“Hey, Yuta, I got assigned another one of those essays. Think you could help me?"
Yuta gives her a fast nod, closing the door swiftly behind her. “Sure, sure, but Maki, there's something I think we should talk about first.”
Maki sits down on the couch by Inumaki, giving him a look, only for him to shrug like he has no idea what’s happening.
“So, what's going on this time?”
You see, after dating Yuta for as long as she has, Maki’s used to this sort of thing. He’s usually too nice for his own good, and honestly, she doesn’t know how he made it through life before he had her to look after him.
“It’s.. it’s your roommate,” He says, sitting down next to Maki, “I think she’s really struggling.”
Maki lets out a heavy sigh. Her mind immediately drifts back to the other night when you went to the convenience store and how, when she called, you were with ‘clinic guy.’ The way you’d nearly combusted when she called him your boyfriend over the phone and how you told her you were going to see him again. She couldn’t help but wonder if the two of you had already taken things a step further.
I mean, she knew you well enough to recognize when you were trying to hide something, and with all the weird stuff going on lately- your sleeping at Gojo’s that one night, how you only gave her bits and pieces of what happened with Naoya, she knew something was up.
“You know, she said she was trying to lose weight and was doing this weird cardio workout, like in a hoodie and pants,” Yuta says, pushing his hair back, his face genuinely concerned. “Her face was all red, and she was really out of breath, too, like she wouldn’t even let me inside.”
Maki sighs, pinching the bridge of her nose. She starts connecting the dots in her head instantly, practically seeing your flustered face at the door. She lets out a laugh, “Yuta, was she maybe wearing her scrub pants?” She says, raising her eyebrow, “And the hoodie was the one with the rabbits?”
Yuta puts a hand on his chin, trying to picture it again. “Now that you mention it… no.” He pauses. “The hoodie was plain black.”
Maki lets a small chuckle escape her. “Plain black, huh?” She says, Yuta, still looking at her, confused, “And you said she was out of breath?”
“Yeah, she was also really red in the face,” Yuta says, leaning closer to Maki and whispering, “I think she was crying.”
The sincerity in his voice makes it difficult for Maki to keep a straight face, her hand flying to her mouth to muffle her laughter.
Inumaki shoots Maki a look from the other end of the couch, a small smirk tugging at his lips.
“Maki?” Yuta says, looking up at her, cutting off her laughter, “What’s so funny?”
She shakes her head, giving Yuta a light pat on the shoulder. “I don’t think she was doing cardio,” she says, Yuta’s eyes slowly widening in realization.
He blinks, looking at Inumaki, only for him to shrug. “Then why was she so out of breath then?”
Maki just facepalms, her eyes narrowing at Yuta. “Seriously?”
“Wait…” He says, his brain slowly putting the pieces together. She wouldn’t let me in, her face was red, and she was out of breath too. Plus, she was still in her work clothes… “Do you really think she was with someone?”
“Bingo,” Maki says with a slight laugh.
“And you think they were…”
“Yes, Yuta,” Maki says with a nod, “So I guess she was doing some kind of cardio.”
Yuta puts his hands to his eyes with an embarrassed groan, “You think it was the same guy from the clinic?”
“If I had to guess.”
“Well,” Yuta says, finally raising his head with a sheepish smile, “Good for them.”

~ Immediately following Cat and Mouse - Part II (Chapter 21) ~
“Why do you always call me to help you clean the ring? It’s so gross,” Gojo says, grabbing the wet cloth resting in Geto’s hand.
“Because,” Geto says, taking a small sip of his coffee, “You know more about this medical shit than I do, plus it’s nice to see you on your knees for once.”
Gojo lets out a scoff, rolling his eyes as he assesses the damage. The ring is basically painted in crimson, the trails from Choso’s knuckles dotting the canvas and the big spray from Ryu’s eyebrow making Gojo’s eyes widen.
“So tell me, Satoru,” Geto drawls, “you think I should have intervened sooner?”
“Judging by the amount of blood on this canvas, probably, but I’m assuming you had a good reason to keep it going?” Gojo says, beginning to wipe the stains.
“Unfortunately,” Geto says, rolling his eyes. “Ryu just won’t leave Kamo alone these days, and by the sound of it, he’s dragging some girl into this now.”
Gojo immediately stops moving, turning back to look at Geto. “A girl?” He asks, remembering everything that’s happened between you and Choso the last couple of days, “What girl?”
“I don’t know, man,” Geto says with a rough sigh, “By the sounds of it, Kamo was walking around campus with this girl and Ryu just started giving him shit for it.”
Gojo’s body tenses up instantly. He recalls that the other day in class, Choso offered to walk you down to the police station when he couldn’t go anymore. “Hold on, what did Choso do about all this?”
“Well, look around,” Geto says, gesturing to the ring, “He made sure Ryu learned not to run his mouth about whoever she is.”
Gojo nods firmly, looking back towards Geto for a moment, “Good, because I think she really likes him.”
“You know this girl?”
“Remember what I told you the other day?” Gojo says, tilting his head, “How Choso intervened with Naoya,”
“Yeah.." Geto says gruffly. The Naoya assault really rubbed him the wrong way, just like Gojo and Megumi. He genuinely felt for you and was thankful that one of his students intervened, but when he heard Choso was involved, he just figured it was because he was a good kid, not because he had personal ties to you.
“What if I told you it didn’t end there?” Gojo says, standing up to lean over the ropes towards Geto. “Choso stayed with my kid for probably five hours afterwards, literally carrying her back to me after she fell asleep.”
“Really, Kamo did that?” Geto says, his eyebrows knitting together, “I don’t believe you.”
“I’m serious!” Gojo says, holding his hands out, “I swear it really happened.”
“The violence part I believed, but the comforting..” Geto says with a huff, “That doesn’t sound like Choso at all.” I mean Geto's known Choso for years, and never ever has he seen him have a soft side. Not even close.
Gojo just snickers, finally getting down to start scrubbing the ring, “Trust me, it totally happened.”
Geto just scoffs, taking one last drink before stepping away from the ring, “I’ll need to see it to believe it.”
~ During the Events of Hot Water (Chapter 22) ~
“Suguru! Suguru!” Gojo yells, running into Geto’s office at full speed.
“What, Satoru?” Geto says sleepily, “I need to finish this paperwork for the regional.”
“That can wait!” Gojo says, snatching the files from Geto and practically yanking him out of his desk chair, “We have to hurry!”
“What's going on?” Geto says, scratching his head, reluctantly following Gojo out of his office.
“They are outside right now.”
“They?” Geto says, grabbing Gojo’s forearm to stop him midstride, “Who are you talking about?”
Gojo just lets out a big sigh, dragging his hand down his face, “You don’t remember? Choso’s out there with her right now, I guarantee he brought her to the hot tub for a date!”
Geto lets out a sharp exhale, “This is seriously what you dragged me out here for, I’m telling you there’s no way Kamo would ever-“
“Just shut up and follow me,” Gojo says with a smug laugh, gently prying his arm out of Geto’s hold, “Your mind is about to be blown.”
The two of them make their way to the side door, Gojo pushing it open with a wide grin and giving Geto a wink. “I’m telling you, Suguru, I think I heard something out here,” Gojo says, unable to contain his laughter.
Geto rolls his eyes, whispering, “Are you really doing this?”
Gojo gives him a nudge, “C’mon, just play along, please.”
“Fine,” Geto says gruffly, but only because he’s secretly curious if Gojo’s actually right. “Are you sure, Satoru? It’s late, just give it a rest,” Geto says, trying to make his voice sound casual.
The two walk a little further, the slight splash in the water making Geto freeze in his tracks. Was Satoru telling the truth? Kamo actually was capable of taking a girl on a nice date?
Gojo continues tracking towards the tub, purely trying to mess with you now. “Gosh, I swear there were people out here," Gojo says, his amusement showing in his voice. “Are those towels?" He says, giving Geto the biggest shit-eating grin he’s ever seen.
Geto takes one look at the hot tub and how the water is still rippling slightly, understanding exactly what's happening. That’s actually quite thoughtful of him… I need to get Satoru out of here, he thinks to himself. “Shut up, Satoru, we’re going inside,” Geto says, grabbing hold of Gojo and forcing him back towards the door so the two of you can actually enjoy yourselves.
Geto opens the door, Gojo practically vibrating as he rushes in. “I told you! What did I say? I knew it! I’m the most amazing-”
“Fine, fine,” Geto says, placing a hand on Gojo’s shoulder, “You were right.”

~ During the events of Detour (Chapter 18)~
Megumi wasn’t a huge fan of Yuji getting high, especially right before his bedtime. Having a bedtime in college may seem crass, but Megumi had a big project due tomorrow, and he needed his sleep. He’s been hunched over his computer for hours now, reviewing the final product tediously until the clock finally hits 11:30. He closes the lid of his laptop with a tired sigh, plugging it in for the night and finally getting into bed. He catches a glance of Yuji when he reaches to turn off his lamp, only to realize that he’s been popping edibles this whole time. Yuji’s on his bed, his eyes red and glassy as he stares at the ceiling, but the second he sees Megumi looking at him, he starts laughing. Megumi’s hand falters by his lamp, dropping to his side as he lets out an annoyed grunt.
Seriously… not again. “Itadori,” he grumbles, “can you quiet down? I need to sleep.”
Yuji lets out a disappointed sigh, rolling on his side to get a clearer view of Megumi. “You’re no fun, Gumi,” Yuji says with a grin, “Stay up with meee.”
Gumi. Megumi’s one weakness. Yuji only ever said it when he was high, probably not even processing that he called Megumi a nickname at all, while Megumi found himself blushing every time. And just like every other time, Megumi forced himself back into reality.
“No, Yuji,” He says gruffly, “I have to present my project tomorrow, remember?”
Yuji just lets out another high laugh, “Nooo, that’s fake, everything’s fake, even your hair I’ll prove it!” He says, suddenly sitting up.
Megumi just glares at him. God, what is in those things nowadays?
Yuji continues to mumble about nonsense for the next few minutes, Megumi growing more and more annoyed, well, until he said this,
“Y’know what’s funny?” Yuji laughs, his chin resting in his hand. “Your sister kissed my brother.”
The second those words leave Yuji’s mouth, Megumi’s entire body stiffens. At first, he’s confused, Brother? Yuji doesn’t have a… but then it clicks. Yuji doesn’t have an actual brother, but he sure as hell has a drug dealer.
“What did you just say?” Megumi says, his voice already straining. It’s safe to say he wasn’t married to his bedtime anymore.
“You didn’t hear me the first time?” Yuji says, tilting his head, “I said your sister kissed my-“
“I know, I know!” Megumi shouts, Yuji flinching at the sudden change in his tone, “What do you mean they kissed? How do you know?”
Yuji just collapses back into his pillows, letting out a low hum. “She fuckeddd up,” Yuji says, dragging a hand down his face, “Like, really messed up. She got way too high, like in the clouds, y'know," he says, gesturing wildly towards the ceiling, “And then she totally, like, threw herself, I think, and they kissed, like, what!” He says with a snicker
Megumi throws his covers off, his jaw clamping shut as he stands up. "Yuji, what the hell are you talking about? Who?"
Yuji rolls onto his back, staring at the ceiling with a dazed, dramatic sigh. "Myyy brother, I already told youuu.” He says with a pout as Megumi’s shadow slowly engulfs his figure, “Now your sister she was just saying and doing things, it was crazy, and like she was scared looking for him… running like… like a race…” his voice trails off, his eyelids starting to grow heavy. But he had already said enough.
On the floor, Megumi was absolutely fuming. He deliberately told you that the boxing team was bad news, and you ignored him. His mind was running red hot, his project completely out the window as he picked up his phone… he knew it was going to be a very long night.

Chapter Summary: You take Choso back to your place to patch him up, but that's not the only time you get caught in a steamy situation
𝕮𝖆𝖙 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝕸𝖔𝖚𝖘𝖊 - 𝕻𝖆𝖗𝖙 III
Choso lets himself hold you close, his head resting on yours as you continue to hug him. After a moment, you begin to feel the light tremor in his hands, how his breath is shallow against your hair, so you pull back a bit. His arms expand around you, but you’re looking up at him now, his body housing bruises it definitely didn’t before.
“Choso,” you drawl, your eyes filling with concern, “Are you ok?”
Choso takes a moment to respond, his eyes sweeping the empty lot once more before finally letting himself be vulnerable.
“I..” He starts, his voice gravelly and rough, “I’m just so tired.”
The words hit you like a truck. He was so excited to go back… He was waiting all week, and now that Ryu jerk just had to go and ruin it for him. You don’t even know what happened, why they were sparring, the things he was saying, but the look on Choso’s face tells you that you probably shouldn’t ask.
So instead you simply reach for his wrist, gesturing softly towards the car. “Come on, let’s go,” you say with a smile, “I can patch you up back at my place.”
Choso gives you a nod, finally pushing himself off the car, but then his eyes linger. He notices the slight red flush in your face and how in the absence of his touch, you’re shivering. Without a word, he picks up the hoodie you dropped on the pavement, straightening it out with his palms and holding it back towards you before you move to get in the car.
“Come here,” he mutters, “you’re cold.”
You see the way he’s holding his hoodie out to you, his body all beaten and battered, yet he’s still worried about you. Your heart does a soft flutter in your chest as you step towards him, extending your arms out as he moves the fabric over your head. His movements are careful, guiding your hands through the sleeves before tugging the fabric the rest of the way down. Choso adjusts the collar once, making sure it sits properly against your neck before finally pulling his hands away.
You immediately pull the fabric towards you, the hoodie still smelling faintly of him even though you’ve had it all this time. His hand lingers towards your shoulder for a moment, Choso still looking down at you like he’s making sure you’re actually warm. After a moment, he steps back, his face softening as he sees you pulling on the fabric.
“Better?” He asks, his rough, gravelly tone from earlier slowly dissolving.
You give him a firm nod as he gets the keys to unlock the car. “Yeah,” you murmur, “thank you.” Your face is still red, but this time it’s not because of the cold. The two of you say nothing else while he unlocks the car, both of you practically melting into the seats when it’s open. He puts the key in the ignition, his shoulder slightly tense as he waits for the car to start up, but the engine hums eventually.
He puts the car in drive, changing gears as he exits the lot, but the second you’re on the main campus road, his hand shifts from the center console. He slowly moves past the gap between the seats, sliding his hand right on your thigh. His thumb begins swiping the fabric of your scrub pants back and forth, the warmth of his palm sweeping into your skin.
You love how his hand feels on you, how he finally anchors himself to you, even if his knuckles are covered in dried blood. You put your hand on top of his, your fingers interlacing between his hurt knuckles. The two of you sit like that the rest of the time, Choso pulling into the garage and moving his hand only to park the car.
The second you get out of the car, you move to grab your stuff from the backseat, but notice Choso already has both your bags in his grasp. You feel your face flush, your lips forming a tiny smile as you let out a small laugh.
“You know I can carry my own stuff,” you say, looking up at Choso as you both make your way to the dorm building.
He just lets out a huff, his hand coming up to pat your shoulder. “I got it,” he says, his voice a reassuring rumble in your ears, “You’ve been working, just let me handle it.”
“Whatever you say, Cho.”
Eventually, you reach the stairwell, and unfortunately, the three flights of stairs are no better, even when Choso is carrying your bag. You catch your breath once you reach the top, your calves cramping, but Choso just looks at you with a grin, barely even having to draw in any shallow breaths. Not fair.
You guide Choso to your door, turning towards his arm and reaching into your backpack to get your room key. You unlock the door slowly, praying that Maki didn’t decide to blow off class today. The only reason you let Choso over in the first place is that you knew she would be out at her class till at least 6:00, which is plenty of time. Choso walks into your room right after you, his eyes studying the place intently. I mean, it’s not that much different than his room, but the fact that it’s yours makes him want to take it all in.
Thank god it’s clean right now, you think to yourself, instructing Choso to put your backpack by the door. “Alright,” you say with a sigh, “Up on the counter, I’ll get my kit.”
Choso nods, walking over to the kitchen island and hopping right on top, his feet basically still touching the ground. You look back at him, the sight of him in your room is strange, but making you continue to blush. You quickly duck into the bathroom, opening the bottom cabinet to find your kit. You haven’t used it in a while, so it’s bound to be buried pretty far back here, but instead of your kit, your hand settles on a big box.
You pull the box out into the light, seeing nothing but the big box of condoms Maki told you about last week. Your eyes widen immediately, your hands shoving the box away from you so fast. “Oh my god,” you murmur, your face immediately flushing a much darker, undeniable red than before. And because Choso is right outside, your mind immediately starts floating off to impure places.
“Nope,” you mutter, shaking your head, “Get yourself together.”
After taking another breath, you manage to collect yourself, your kit eventually coming into your line of sight. You snatch it up at lightning speed, shoving the condoms back far into Maki’s side of the cabinet. You stand up, your kit tucked under your arm as you straighten out your scrubs and look at your embarrassingly flushed face in the mirror, letting out a helpless sigh.
You walk out of the bathroom, Choso sitting in the exact same spot on the counter, looking like he’s about to burn a hole through his bloodied hands. You let out a shaky sigh, rushing back over to him, wedging yourself in between his knees and pulling his hands towards you before he can stare any longer.
“Choso,” You call out, reaching over to wet your gauze pad in the sink, “Are you sure you’re ok?”
Your question hangs for a moment as you start scrubbing the blood off Choso’s hands and forearms, the gauze pad quickly turning crimson.
Choso lets out a gruff sigh, looking down at you cleaning his hands. “I.. I’m not sure.”
“What?”
He watches you drag the bloodstained gauze around his knuckles for another second, a faint red encasing his eyes from the joint. “I mean,” he says, pausing for a moment to try and find the right words, “I thought I was fine.”
He lets out a small breath. You can hear the disappointment lacing his voice, how he sounds like he isn’t even completely sure how to navigate what he’s feeling.
“Everything was going good,” he continues, “I was holding up fine, and my side wasn’t in pain but-“ he cuts himself off instantly, looking away from you.
You stop moving, placing the bloodied gauze on the counter. You move to look up at Choso, who’s still averting his gaze. “Cho?” “You call, placing your hand on his knee, “It’s ok, you can tell me.”
The tension in his posture loosens a bit at your sentiment, his eye slowly drifting back onto yours. “I’m sorry,” He mutters, “for making you so worried.”
You feel your heart sink a little, immediately sliding your hand up to Choso’s forearm. “Choso,” you murmur, “You don’t have to apologize to me.”
His gaze drops to where your hand is sitting in his forearm, the vulnerability in his expression making him the complete opposite of the boxer you found in the parking lot.
“I just thought I could handle it this time,” He sighs, “Ryu just had to keep pushing and I-“
You squeeze his forearm a little tighter now, bending down a little so you're in his line of sight. “Shh,” you mutter, letting Choso see your gentle smile, “It’s fine, Choso, really, Ryu’s just an asshole.” You let go of his arm, giving it a soft pat before you step back to reach into your kit. “We don’t have to talk about it anymore,” you say, prepping an alcohol wipe in your hand, “You can tell me later.”
He gives you a slight nod, a small smile tugging at his lips. The first time he’s gotten anywhere close to smiling since you found him.
You smile too, pressing the wipe softly to his skin, Choso letting out a soft hiss as you slide it over his raw, split knuckles. “Ow,” He whines, pulling his hand away.
You let out a snort, looking up at Choso, only to see his eyes have gotten significantly more red, and his body is swaying a bit. “Really, Cho?” You say, covering your mouth with your free hand. “You can fight Ryu bare-handed, but this is the part that hurts?”
Choso lets out a grumble, pressing his knuckles close to his chest, “It’s different.”
“How?”
Choso rolls his now glassed-over eyes, setting his hands down on the countertop, “Maybe you shouldn’t scrub so hard,” He says with a pout.
“You’re so ridiculous,” You say with a laugh, finally gripping one of Choso’s wrists to guide his hand back towards you. “Now hold still.”
Choso lets out another angry grunt, but you have another trick up your sleeve. You move your hand, slowly letting go of his wrist and trailing up towards his jawline. You let your thumb rest against the sharp definition of his face, trailing it up and down to distract him. I mean, it worked the first time.
Choso lets out a low hum, leaning into your hand as you continue to clean his wound. Even when you hit the worst of the scratches, he doesn’t even flinch, his gaze focused on you the entire time. A small smile tugs at his lips, Choso finally able to relax a bit as he watches you work.
Eventually, you finish cleaning both of his hands, wrapping his knuckles with some fresh white gauze before finally setting his hands down. “Alright,” You sigh, looking up at Choso. “Good as new.”
Choso’s eyes were still melting into you, his posture completely relaxed as he takes in your form. “Thanks, baby,” He says, tilting his head and extending his hand into the open space between you. “But I guess now I have to repay you.”
His mellow tone makes you blush a bit as you reach for your kit, your face starting to match your scrubs again. You’ve noticed in your recent interactions with him that Choso’s always been a little more openly flirtatious when he’s high. Not that he doesn’t make moves on you when he’s not, just that he’s a bit more… forward than usual.
You just chuckle at how he’s slightly slurring his words now, but Choso doesn't laugh. Instead, he intercepts the kit from you, sliding it down the countertop. And before you can even get a word in, his freshly wrapped hands are clamping around your waist. He effortlessly lifts you off the floorboards, making you let out a surprised gasp as he sets you right in his lap.
You wrap your legs around his waist, your hands flying to his shoulders to steady yourself. “Cho, what are you doing?” you say with a laugh, your face turning bright red as you feel his muscular shoulders through his tank top.
“Y’know, my hands feel a lot better now,” he says, lifting one of his freshly wrapped hands to cup your cheek. “But I think you missed my split lip.” He looks at you with a lazy smirk, his glazed-over eyes dropping to your lips before trailing back up to your eyes.
You cock your brow at him, leaning into his palm. “You’re so full of it,” you say with a chuckle, “You don’t have one.”
Choso just lets out a huff, his other hand pressing towards the small of your back to pull you closer. “Are you sure?” He says, taking one of your hands off his shoulder and placing it under his chin to tilt his head up, “Maybe you should check again.”
You let out a flustered giggle, looking at the dumb grin on Choso’s face as you pretend to inspect him. And you thought he was cute when he was sober…
Without saying a word, Choso moves his face back down, the gauze on his hand tickling your skin as he slides his hand to the back of your neck. He doesn’t give you a chance to look away, bringing your lips to his with a slow, heavy pull.
The second your lips touch, any lingering thoughts about the fight with Ryu or Choso’s injuries dissolve instantly. The kiss is hot and heavy, Choso’s lips moving in an unrefined rhythm. Because of his high, he doesn’t hold anything back, drinking you in like a man dying of thirst.
Choso begins to lean back against the kitchen island, his wrapped hands sliding down to your hips, anchoring you firmly to him, guiding you along with him until you're leaning over him. Your bodies go horizontal across the smooth surface of the counter, the position completely intoxicating as his lips continue to press into yours. Your kit falls to the floor with a loud clatter, but neither of you cares, Choso grabbing your hands to pin them above your head. But right as he clutches your wrists, a loud knock echoes through the dorm.
“Hey, it’s Yuta, is anyone here?”
Shit. What the hell does he want? Your eyes snap open as you realize the situation. Choso is currently high as a kite, kissing you stupid on the kitchen counter. Your face is undeniably flushed, your clothes and hair completely disheveled, and none of your friends know that ‘clinic guy’ is actually Choso , one of the most notorious boxers at the school.
You pull away from Choso immediately, eyes blown wide as you land on the floorboards. “Oh my god,” you murmur, straightening out the collar of Choso’s hoodie that’s hanging off you widely crooked, “Fuck.”
Choso sits up, clearly confused, rubbing the back of his head as he watches you panic. “Who is-“ he starts, his voice raspy from the kiss but basically echoing across the room.
“Shh,” you hiss, “Choso, don’t talk,” you say, giving him a quick pat on the shoulder, “just sit still.”
Choso gives you a quick nod, immediately looking down at his wrapped hands and tugging at the gauze, his focus shifting completely to the cotton strands.
“Don’t touch those either,” you say playfully, swatting his hand away from his wraps like a child. “Just sit,” you say, finally stepping away from the counter and towards the front door.
“I’ll be there in a sec,” you yell out, trying to make your voice sound at least a little calm. You straighten out your clothes one final time, combing back your flyaways with your hands and making sure Choso is still on the counter. When you glance back, his full attention has shifted to his legs lazily swinging over the edge. You let out a small sigh, positioning yourself so the kitchen is completely out of view.
You open the door just a fraction, Yuta standing outside with his usual smile on his face.
“Hey, Yuta,” you say a little too quickly, trying and completely failing to act natural, “Umm… what’s up?”
Yuta blinks at you, his smile dipping just a fraction. “Are you alright?” He asks, seeming genuinely worried, “You seem out of breath.”
“Me?” You say, trying your best to put an unsuspecting smile on your face, “I was just, uh, trying this new cardio thing.”
“In a sweatshirt and pants?”
"I… uh…” You mutter, trying to think of another excuse. Why did Yuta have to find the worst time to barge in? “Y’know, they say it’s better the more you sweat during a workout.”
“For what?” He says, a confused look taking over his features.
“Losing weight,” You squeak out quickly, “Been having too many energy drinks lately.” You say with a nervous chuckle.
Yuta’s expression falls almost instantly, his smile turning into a concerned frown. “You don’t need to lose weight,” He says, scanning your figure. “Are you doing ok?”
“Yeah, oh my gosh, yeah,” you say, realizing that Yuta is probably the nicest person you know and the worst guy to use that excuse on. “Yuta, I’m fine, seriously.”
“Are you sure?” He says, raising his eyebrows, "…Have you been crying?”
“I… no?” You say, shaking your head, suddenly remembering how flushed your face must be.
“Your face is just really red,” He says, bringing his hand up to his chin in thought, “Here, let me come in. We can talk about this.”
“No!”
Yuta takes a step back, caught off guard by your sudden reaction.
“I mean, I’m fine,” you say, holding your hands out and forcing a dry laugh.
“Ok,” Yuta says, his signature smile starting to return, “Just don’t hesitate to reach out if something’s bothering you, alright?”
"Yeah, of course,” you say with a nod, “I won’t.”
“Good,” Yuta says with a small laugh, “Now can you give these to Maki? She left them in my room.” He says, holding out a pair of her glasses.
“Yep, got it,” you say, practically snatching the glasses from his hand and giving him a small wave. “I’ll see you later.”
“Enjoy the rest of your workout!” He says with a wave as you close the door.
The second the door clicks shut, you let your back slide down it, covering your face with your hands and letting out a groan.

~One week later~
Unfortunately, that's not the only close call you and Choso had in the first few weeks of your relationship. Honestly, you didn’t exactly like sneaking around, but you did know the teasing from Maki would be endless, and if Megumi found out about you and Choso, he would be pissed. I mean, literally no one knows about your relationship… except for Satoru Gojo of course, well, and Shoko, but she was bound to know. The only reason Gojo even knows in the first place is that he took that stupid voice memo on his phone, but I guess that’s also the reason the two of you even got together. Ugh, it’s so complicated!
You’re sitting in your swivel chair, anticipation practically eating you alive as you stare at the clock. You see, it was currently 7:00 pm which meant you only had an hour left of your shift, but that’s not the exciting part. At 3:00, Choso came in to get the stitches out of his side and eyebrow lacerations, the two of you even getting a few minutes of alone time before he had to leave, but right when he was about to leave, he whispered this.
“You wanna go to the gym with me tonight? I have a surprise for you.”
So now for the last three and a half hours you’ve been left in suspense. “A surprise,” You say, groaning into your hands for the nth time, “What does that even mean?”
Shoko lets out a laugh. “No idea,” She says, continuing to scribble something down on her clipboard.
“That’s so not helpful,” You say with another groan, checking the clock again, only for it to be 7:02. Just when you thought your shift couldn’t get any worse, you hear the chime on the door.
“What’s up, party people!”
You don’t even have to look up to know who it is. “You were supposed to pick me up at 8,” You say with an annoyed grumble, but the words instantly die in your throat when you look up to see Gojo holding out a large convenience store cup.
“Relax, kiddo,” He says with a laugh, “I got you that weird drink you like, what do you call it?”
Without answering, you snatch the cup from his hands, taking a big sip before setting it next to you. You let out a soft, refreshed ahh, “Black Flash,” You say, now suddenly smiling.
Shoko lets out another chuckle as Gojo pulls out a lobby chair, flipping it around and straddling it like he has all the time in the world. He rests his arms on the backrest, chin dropping onto them lazily as he looks between the two of you. “You’re still drinking that?” She says dryly, not bothering to look up from her clipboard, “Don’t tell Kamo you drink that shit, he’d probably barf.”
“You guys are so dramatic,” You say in mock defense. “Now why are you here an hour early?”
“I was around,” Gojo says with a nod, “Thought I would drop by to see my favorite little intern a bit early.”
"She's been checking the clock every thirty seconds," Shoko says without looking up from her clipboard. "Apparently, Kamo promised her a surprise.
“Shoko!”
“Oohh, a surprise!” Gojo says way too excitedly, “Now what could that be?”
“It’s a surprise, dumbass.” You say, taking another drink, “I have no idea.”
For the rest of the hour, you debate what the surprise could be. Bowling? No, that's stupid. A movie? There’s nothing good out right now. Food? Wouldn’t be the worst scenario. But overall you can’t settle on it.
“I guess we’re just going to have to wait and see,” Shoko says with a sigh, but you can tell she’s secretly just as invested as you are.
“Well, thinking about all the ‘surprises’ I did back in the day, I'm hoping it’s PG,” says Gojo with a big grin.
Your cheeks immediately flush a bright red. “Jesus Christ,” You say, burying your face in your hands, “Satoru, you're such a boy.”
He lets out a laugh. “I’m just saying,” he says, raising an eyebrow, “I’ll settle for PG-13, but after that I’m taking this Kamo kid to the ring myself.”
Shoko lets out a chuckle, “I’d actually want to see that, considering how terrible at boxing you are.”
“Hey!”
“Remember when you and Suguru sparred for the first time?” She says with a huff.
Gojo just laughs, “My first time getting KO'd, how could I forget!” He rolls his eyes, “It’s not like my friends have been holding it over my head for almost 20 years.”
“Maybe you deserved it.”
But before Gojo can even come up with a petty retort, you check the clock. 8:00pm. You spring up from your chair immediately, leaving the two of them in the lobby to grab your stuff. You slip on Choso’s hoodie and your backpack, walking back out to swipe your drink from your desk. You walk over to Gojo, who just looks up from his chair with a teasing smile.
“Come on, let’s go,” You say, literally tempted to tug on his sleeve like a child. But I mean, you can’t help it;,you’ve spent the last 4 hours wanting to jump out of that chair.
“Alright, alright,” Gojo says, getting up and placing the chair back where it was, “I guarantee you he’s not going anywhere.”
The two of you say bye to Shoko, leave the clinic, and get into Gojo’s car. He backs out of the space, turns up the radio, and gives you a smug look.
“So how’s it going between the two of you?” He says, nudging your shoulder, “You guys looked pretty chummy in class the other day, so I assume it’s all good?”
You let out a sigh. Clearly, you and Choso needed to work on being more discreet. “It’s actually great, Satoru,” you say, starting to ramble on about how much happier you already are, but suddenly Gojo interrupts.
“Does your brother know yet?”
You let out a sharp breath. “I- ugh, no.” You say, rolling your eyes, “You know how he is.”
Gojo just chuckles, “I understand he can be a little hardcore, but trust me, it would be best if you were the one who told him, y'know?"
Your eyes dart around the car nervously. You remember your conversation with Yuji last week, how he made you tell him about Choso. Even though he doesn’t even know you guys are official, he knows enough to completely out you to Megumi.
“Yuji…” you murmur quietly enough for Gojo not to hear, “Please don’t tell.”
You start fidgeting nervously, but a sudden vibration in your pocket interrupts your train of thought. You pull out your phone, completely oblivious to the fact that Gojo’s eyes are not even close to the road.

Meet me in the garage in 20
From: Cho ♥️
Bring a swimsuit
Your eyes widen at the text. A swimsuit in October… what is he planning? Gojo lets out a small snort beside you, prompting you to put your phone down. But the second you look up at him, his eyes are practically glued to the empty campus road ahead.
“What?” You grumble, squinting your eyes at Gojo.
“Nothing," He says with a pout, “I saw a squirrel.”
“Liar,” you say with a laugh, lightly hitting his shoulder, “Mind your business.”
“What?” He says, swatting your arm away from him, “Don’t you want me to see what you’re smiling about?”
“Just drive the car.”
The second Gojo pulls into the garage, you practically throw the door open, hopping out before he’s even finished putting the car in park.
“Remember!” he calls after you. “PG-13!”
“Goodbye, Satoru!” you shout over your shoulder, already hurrying toward the dorm.
You hurry into your room, peeling off Choso’s hoodie and tossing it onto your bed before pulling open your dresser. Your hands sift through a pile of swimsuits, your mind racing. A swimsuit? Seriously?
You settle on a simple black triangle bikini before slipping out of your scrubs. The cool air immediately sends a shiver across your skin, making you hug your arms around yourself.
“You better have a really good explanation for this, Cho,” you mutter under your breath.
You throw Choso’s hoodie back on over your swimsuit, pulling up a pair of sweatshorts with it. You kick on your slippers, adjusting the claw clip in your hair and shooting Choso a quick text.
To: Cho ♥️
I’m ready coming down now!!
You walk out of your room, locking the door behind you before hurrying down the stairs. By the time you push through the side doors, your heart is pounding with anticipation. The parking garage is dead quiet at this hour, Choso’s car humming right by the door. You slide into the passenger seat quickly, Choso giving you a smile.
“Hey,” he says, grabbing your jaw to steal a quick kiss.
You peck him on the lips, immediately finding his hand on the center console and moving it to your thigh. “Hey,” you mutter, giving his fingers a squeeze. “So, what’s going on? I thought we were going to the gym.”
Choso chuckles softly as he pulls out of the parking garage, “We are.”
You cock an eyebrow. “Aren’t you supposed to be working out?”
He shakes his head. “Already did.”
“Already?” You turn to look at him. “Cho, you got your stitches out like four hours ago.”
“I know.”
“You seriously went to the gym right after your appointment?”
A small grin tugs at the corner of his lips. “Just for a little while.”
“You work too hard,” you say with a soft laugh, “You could have at least asked me to wrap your hands first.”
“Y’know,” he mutters, shifting his hand out of your grip to display his freshly bruised knuckles, “I probably should have.”
“Choso, oh my god.” You murmur, gently brushing your fingertips over the fresh bruises. “They’re already swollen.”
He just lets out a quiet hum, allowing you to inspect his hand for a moment before intertwining his fingers with yours. “They’ll be alright.”
You shake your head with a fond sigh, giving his hand one last squeeze before settling back into your seat.
The rest of the drive passes quietly. Before long, the familiar gym comes into view, Choso pulling into the empty parking lot. He helps you out of the car, the two of you walking hand in hand into the building. The second you clear the lobby, he takes you back towards the locker room, grabbing two freshly folded towels and tucking them under his arm.
“Towels? Choso, what’s going on?”
“Shh,” he says, walking you back to the center of the gym, “close your eyes.”
“Seriously?” You say with a laugh.
“Just do it,” He says slowly, inching his hand up to cover your eyes.
With one hand shielding your eyes and the other anchoring your waist, he guides you to the side door, opening it only for both of you to get hit by the chilly breeze.
“Cho!” You say with a sudden shiver, your eyes still shut, “It’s cold!”
He just laughs, his grip on your waist tightening slightly, “It won’t be for long, trust me.”
The two of you walk a little further, Choso’s hand finally falling from over your eyes. “Ok you can look now.”
The second you open your eyes, the sight is marvelous. Turns out on the side of the gym there’s a secret small garden area with a few trees and small lanterns lighting the path you walked on, ivy lining this side of the gym building. But that’s not the surprise, it’s the giant hot tub sitting against the side of the gym.
“You always work so much,” Choso says quietly. “I figured you could use a place to relax,” he says, giving a nod toward the tub.
“Wow, Cho,” you say, completely in shock. “This is crazy!”
He steps away from you, letting out a light chuckle. He sets the two towels on a chair beside the tub, taking off his hoodie right after, the sharp definition of his chest coming to light. “The team comes back here after hard practices sometimes,” he mutters, looking back at you, a faint smile tugging at his lips, “I wanted to show it to you.”
You walk over beside Choso, kicking off your slippers and sliding out of your clothes. You set your discarded clothes next to Choso’s as he lifts the lid off the tub, steam curling lazily in the air. He makes his way up the steps, grabbing your hand to lead you up behind him.
The second Choso looks back and sees you in your swimsuit. He can't help but stare. The black bikini hugs your figure just perfectly, and the way the soft light traces your curves immediately makes his face heat up.
Choso steps into the water first, letting out a contented sigh as the warmth melts into his sore muscles. He turns back toward you, extending a hand. “Careful,” he says.
You take it, easing yourself down the steps. The heat immediately chases away the chill in the air making you let out a relieved laugh. “This is amazing,” you say, sinking down till the water touches your shoulders. “Thanks, Cho.”
Choso just lets out a low hum, guiding you through the bubbling water until you’re sitting right next to him on the bench. He drapes one massive arm over the edge of the tub behind you, his other hand finding your waist under the water to pull you against his side.
You melt right into him, resting your head on his chest as the heat of the water completely unravels all the stress from your shift. For a few minutes, you just sit there in the quiet of the night, the soft lantern light reflecting off the steam swirling around you.
"See?" Choso murmurs, his lips brushing the top of your head. "Told you it wouldn't be cold for long,” He says with a slight chuckle.
“It’s perfect,” you say with a smile, tilting your head to look up at him.
Choso's dark eyes instantly soften as he gazes down at you, the steam dampening the thick strands of his hair. He squeezes your bare waist tighter, leaning down and capturing your lips in a slow, tender kiss. This time it isn’t rushed or heavy, just sweet and slow. His hand underwater is lightly caressing the curve of your hip now, drawing you closer until your legs tangle together.
You let out a breathy sigh into the kiss, your hands tracing his broad shoulders, completely lost in him. He pulls back just a fraction, his thumb softly wiping a stray droplet of water from your cheek, a lazy, utterly devoted smile resting on his lips. “You look so beautiful,” he murmurs, his breath hot against your ear, “I’ve been hoping we could have a moment like this together.”
Your stomach does a small flip at his words, your arms sliding around his neck to draw him back down for another soft press of his lips. The water bubbles around you, casting a soothing rhythm that makes the entire world disappear, well, for a second. You and Choso continued talking in lazy murmurs, His thumb still tracing light circles around your hip. You loved how thoughtful the gesture was, how relaxed you felt lying in his arms, but then you heard the side door of the gym swing open.
“I’m telling you, Suguru, I think I heard something out here,” You hear, along with a familiar laugh.
Your eyes widen immediately, your body stiffening against Choso’s chest. You perk your head up, looking at Choso with panic in your eyes. He gives you the same look the second he hears his boxing coach getting closer.
“Are you sure, Satoru? It’s late, just give it a rest.” Says Geto, his voice smooth as always.
You continue to look at Choso in pure horror. Satoru Gojo. The memory of his smug face in the car flashes in your mind, and a sudden wave of realization hits you. That bastard absolutely saw Choso's texts earlier, and he came out here just to mess with you guys.
“What do we do?” you whisper frantically.
Choso’s eyes are steady despite the sudden panic. “Hold your breath, baby,” he murmurs back.
He proceeds to anchor his hand around your hip and pulls you both straight down beneath the bubbling surface just as Gojo and Geto make their way towards the tub. The roaring hum of the hot tub jets fills your ears as the warm water swallows you whole. Underwater, Choso’s large hands lock securely around your waist to keep you from floating up. You instinctively wrap your legs tightly around his hips, your chests pressed flush together in the warmth as you wait them out. Through the distortion of the water's surface, you can see two tall silhouettes stop right at the edge, and you swear one just flashed you a cheeky smile, making you have to cover your mouth with your hand to prevent an annoyed grumble from escaping you.
"Gosh, I swear there were people out here," Gojo's muffled voice filters down, sounding entirely too amused. "Are those towels?"
“Shut up, Satoru, we’re going inside,” Geto says, practically dragging Gojo away from the water and forcing him towards the door.
Your lungs are burning, fingers tightening into Choso's shoulders. He holds you impossibly close, too, his eyes fixed on the shadows above until they are completely out of view. The heavy side door finally thuds shut, the latch clicking firmly into place.
The second Choso hears the latch, he propels both of you upward. Your heads burst through the surface, both of you gasping wildly for air.
"Oh my god," you wheeze, choking out a breathless, panicked laugh as you cling to Choso's neck. "I am going to kill him. Satoru absolutely saw my texts earlier."
Choso lets out a low, breathless chuckle, his arms tightening around your lap as he presses a warm, reassuring kiss to your wet cheek. "He's gone now. Let’s just stay here awhile, yeah?"
Summary: You thought he didn't care when he threw you out of his life, but a midnight text leaves your ex boyfriend Megumi, on his knees begging for you under the moonlight.
Pairing: Ex!Megumi x Reader
Word Count: ~2k
Content: Slight angst, some comfort, Megumi is your ex, mutual pining, yearning, Megumi not knowing how to navigate emotions, some intimate touching & kissing
You and Megumi dated for six months, a relationship that seems short to some, but for you, it felt you had found the love of your life. Megumi was a good guy, smart, athletic, attractive, literally the whole nine yards. You even stayed with him most nights, basking in his company as long as you could, but he had one fatal character flaw.
He was emotionally unavailable.
He hid all his feelings beneath his dark stoicism and wit, a trait that you grew to despise. Sometimes, you caught glimpses of why he kept his guard up, the way he flinched at certain memories, like someone who'd been let down one too many times before. You yearned for a genuine connection, but whenever it came too close to cracking open his shell, he pushed you away.
Once he broke up with you, you were absolutely devastated. It took you a good week to look at yourself in the mirror, let alone leave the house. You hated yourself for being “too much” for him, for making him angry. But eventually, you realized it wasn’t your fault.
You started getting back into your old habits, going out at night and seeing your friends again. You regained your confidence, your mind finally moving away from the painful end of your and Megumi’s relationship.
Tonight was no different, you were at the club with your friends, having fun on the dance floor, and doing some light drinking. Everything was going well, you were in a really cute black slip dress, your hair all done, and it seemed that you were just magnetic tonight. Guys were coming up to you left and right, hitting on you, asking for your number or a dance, the whole deal. It was honestly a great distraction and made you feel much better, well, until you started to attract guys from outside the club.

Meet me at the park in 10?
The second the text lit up your phone, you gritted your teeth angrily. What the hell was with him! He had the audacity to break your heart, and now he’s just demanding you drop everything to meet him like it’s no big deal, no way. It seemed like he didn’t care before. Why all of a sudden is he being like this, especially now?
To: Fushiguro 😒
Fuck off
You laughed a little to yourself, expecting Megumi to leave you on read while you went back to dancing, but then your phone buzzed again.
From: Fushiguro 😒
Please
Please? The single word felt like a physical blow, your thumb hovering above the screen uselessly. Your heart began to pound against your ribs, your breath turning into shallow rasps.
Megumi Fushiguro did not say please. He didn’t use words that implied he was hurting, and he certainly didn't back out of decisions. He would rather rot in silence than text you that. Or would he? No. Absolutely not. Don’t get your hopes up.
You felt an angry heat take over your stomach, a tiny bead of sweat falling from your forehead. But beneath all that, a tiny ember of your old relationship sparked back to life. You missed Megumi a lot, and every time you thought you were over him, you knew you were lying to yourself.
So, now the two of you are standing face to face at the park, the moonlight cutting sharply between you. The bass from the club you just walked out of still lingers slightly in your ears, a reminder that you shouldn’t be wasting time on this. But when your eyes fall on Megumi, you freeze.
He looks terrible, his neat spiky hair a tinge disheveled and eye bags so prominent you could see them in the dark. He was wearing sweatpants and a tight compression shirt, his usual muscular build hunched under the weight of his own exhaustion. For a guy who held himself together with rigid precision, seeing him this undone feels entirely wrong.
“You have two minutes, Fushiguro,” you hiss, crossing your arms over your chest, “I’m kinda in the middle of something.”
Megumi clenched his jaw. His dark eyes traced your silhouette in silence for a moment, how your dress traced your curves, how it looks like a piece of the night came over to talk to him. He never told you that dress was his favorite. Never told you he thought you looked beautiful in black or that every time you wore it, he had to remind himself to keep looking at your face.
He takes a step towards you, pulling one of his hands out of his pockets, only for it to stall in the air for a moment. It almost closes the space between the two of you, his fingers curling into nothing before dropping slack against his side.
“You look nice,” He says, his words reminding you exactly why you’d broken up.
“Seriously?” You ask, your tone is nothing but sharp and irritated. You roll your eyes at him, already considering turning around. “That’s what you dragged me out here to say.”
Megumi lets out a gruff sigh, his eyes drifting from yours and towards the night sky. He wanted to say more, so much more. All the things he failed to tell you, how much he cared. How breaking up with you was a mistake. But the words didn’t come out.
You took another 10 seconds of him staring blankly before you decided to call it. You let out a dry chuckle devoid of any humor. “Right,” you say, shaking your head, “I’m leaving.”
“Wait.”
His words make you stop immediately in your tracks. The way he’s looking at you now, his dark eyes burning into yours with that soft intensity you used to love.
“Megs,” you call, the nickname slipping out before you can stop it. It painfully hangs between you for a moment. For the first time that night, Megumi’s composure cracked. His eyes widened ever so slightly, the tension in his shoulders easing as hope flickered across his face.
Your lips pressed into a thin line. “…Fushiguro,” you corrected quietly.
The glimmer of hope in Megumi’s eyes dimmed in an instant. His shoulder stiffened again, his every emotion retreating behind the walls he’s spent months building.
Neither of you spoke for a moment, the silence only making things more uncomfortable. You watched how his posture continued to grow more rigid, how he looked like he was forcing words back down his throat before he finally decided to speak. “I.. I didn’t know if you would come.” He mumbles so quietly you almost can’t hear.
“Well, I’m here, so if that’s all you wanted, can I go now?” You say, your voice cutting through the night.
“No.”
“No?” You ask, cocking a brow, “Fushiguro, this is ridiculous,” you say, moving to turn your back to him.
“Don’t turn around,” he says, his voice louder this time but nowhere near confident, but desperate. “Please…”
You freeze, your foot bracing to take another step away, when you feel the concrete move under you. You let out a sharp sigh, planting your foot down and turning back around, but the sight was not something you could have ever anticipated.
Megumi was still looking at you, but this time he was on his knees and instead of a glimmer of hope in his eyes, there was a fresh tear lingering inside.
Your breath caught in your throat, the petty retort you’d prepared dying instantly on your tongue. The image felt completely wrong. Seeing your ex, who was basically devoid of emotion 24/7, the one you thought didn’t care about you, down on his knees when you threatened to leave. Your heart starts to beat faster, your lip starting to tremble.
He was looking up at you through his dark spikes, his eyes full of nothing but a raw, agonizing desperation, the tear now making its way down his cheek and shimmering in the moonlight.
“Megumi…” your voice came out as a fragile whisper, the anger that had been keeping you upright suddenly evaporating, leaving behind a hollow ache.
“I always loved you,” he says, his usually flat voice slipping into a regretful, almost yearning register.
As you walk closer to him, his shaky hands come up to clutch at the hem of your black dress, holding it like he was drowning.
“There were so many things I never told you,” he says as you look down at him, his voice almost more shaky than his hands. “Like how I loved waking up with you beside me, and how those cute sticky notes you would leave all over the apartment made my day.”
The second Megumi started listing off things from your old daily routine, you felt your heart swell. All the things you thought he didn’t care about…
He squeezes the dress tighter, hoping some sort of you is still willing to listen. “I never told you how I thought you looked like a goddess every time you would wear this dress, or how I could never truly relax after you left.” His voice cracks again, his confession turning into a quiet mumble. “I never thought you were too much. I don’t even know why I said it,” He says, the warmth from his hand starting to register in your brain. “I just thought if I let myself love you… It would ruin everything.”
By this point, there were hot tears flowing down your face, your eyeliner making inky trails down your cheeks. You never thought you would hear those words, that he actually cared. The warmth in your chest wasn’t anger anymore; it was something else entirely. This entire time, you wanted Megumi back, but because you thought he didn’t care, you tried and tried to throw it all away. But now you see that’s not the case at all.
“I’m really sorry for throwing you out,” he says, “for acting like I didn’t care all this time.” He lets out a sharp breath, his hands still trembling on your thighs. “Go out at night, hate me, do whatever you want, but please let me be the one waiting for you, just save something for me.”
Your defense finally cracked. Feeling Megumi’s warm, large palms on your thighs, seeing how he’s looking up at you, how he actually cares, you find yourself sinking right down to the floor with him.
“You really hurt me, Megs, you know that?”
Hearing it out loud after a month of deafening silence made a visible shudder run right through Megumi’s shoulders. His grip on your thighs tightened slightly, as if your words were a physical blow he had to brace himself against. He forced himself to hold your gaze, taking in the sight of your ruined eyeliner and the tears still actively spilling over your lashes. He wanted to look at the damage he had caused and wasn't going to hide from it anymore.
“I know,” he whispered, his voice incredibly thick, the words scraping out of his throat. “I know I did. And it’s the biggest mistake of my life.”
He slowly moved his hands from your thighs, his fingers tracing up the sides of your waist before his large, warm palms carefully came up to rest against your jawline. He was so gentle, a stark contrast to the desperate, trembling wreck he had been just seconds ago. His thumbs brushed right over your damp cheeks, black ink smudging onto his skin, trying to wipe away the evidence of your hurt.
“I’m so sorry,” he rasped, his eyes shining as a fresh wave of moisture threatened to spill over. “I was a coward. I saw how much I was starting to care, and it terrified me. But I can’t live without you.”
He leaned forward, his forehead coming to rest gently against yours. You could feel the frantic, uneven heat of his breath against your lips, the familiar scent of him instantly wrapping around you like a heavy blanket. A heat you’ve been craving for a long time.
“Don’t let me go back to the silence tonight,” Megumi begged softly against your skin, his hands sliding around to the back of your neck, his fingers tangling into your hair to pull you just a fraction closer. “Please.”
You let your lips sink into his, drinking him in. You really did miss him, how his hands felt on your skin, how soft his lips were, you needed this. You bring your hands up to his neck like the two of you never even broke up in the first place, letting yourself fall for him all over again.

Chapter Summary: Choso takes Ryu to the ring trying to keep his temper under wraps, but Ryu makes it basically impossible (Choso & Reader POV)
𝕮𝖆𝖙 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝕸𝖔𝖚𝖘𝖊 𝕻𝖆𝖗𝖙 II - 𝕮𝖍𝖔𝖘𝖔 POV
The second that sentence leaves Choso’s mouth, Geto sighs. He heard everything Ryu was saying, saw how Choso was trying to maintain his discipline, and, given the last couple of days the guy had had, Geto didn’t blame him for wanting to lash out. Not that he would ever encourage this type of behavior, but Geto wanted to see what Choso could do, maybe if he could put a dent in Ryu, the kid was more ready for the regional than he thought.
“Alright,” He says smoothly, looking down at Choso’s frustrated expression, “Since you’re hurt, would you like to set any conditions?”
To keep things fair, Geto has established a system with his boxers for sparring. Whenever someone was injured significantly more than their opponent, Geto let them set one condition to try to make the match more evenly balanced, just because he didn’t want these guys genuinely hurting each other. Most guys opted for normal things like banning shots at their wounds or lighter contact, but Choso had a different idea in mind. He was still running hot after his fight with Ryu, the tension that had been brewing between them the last few days finally reaching its breaking point.
“No gloves.”
Choso’s words sit for a moment, the entire gym going quiet.
Ryu’s spine straightens out, the smirk instantly dropping off his face.
Geto reacts similarly, letting out a tired huff as he looks down at Choso. “No gloves?” He asks, “Is that your chosen parameter?”
Choso grinds his teeth, his sharp gaze focused entirely on Ryu, “Yes, sir.”
Geto gives Choso one final stare to make him really contemplate his choice, but he doesn’t budge, only staring at Ryu until he finally starts to take off his gloves.
Normally, Geto would've stepped in by now. A sparring match fueled by personal grudges was rarely a good idea. But Choso already knew the consequences if he lost control. Geto had made it abundantly clear to him how important it was that he stayed disciplined. Besides, after hearing what happened at the clinic from Gojo, he understood why Choso's patience had finally snapped when you came up. Ryu should've known better.
“Alright,” Geto huffs, “Ryu, Choso, step in the ring.”
Choso, already being by the edge, makes his way towards the ropes when he hears Ryu let out a laugh behind him.
“Whoa, Kamo,” He says, inching closer to Choso, “If you’re so strict about this no glove rule, shouldn’t you take off your hand wraps?”
Choso lets out an annoyed sigh, his teammates breaking into hushed whispers as Ryu gives him a sharp pat on the back.
“I hate to be a dick, but I just want things to be fair,” Ryu says, the pure sarcasm in his voice making Choso want to vomit.
His stomach twists as he forces his thumb to slide under his wraps. The wraps that you put on him so carefully. But, with each pull, the bandages grow looser, the fabric hanging in long black strips from his knuckles before falling into a heap on the floor. He does the other hand too, the pile of discarded wraps visibly growing at his feet. Choso pulls his fingers into fists, all the whispers from his teammates stopping immediately.
“Oh shit,” Hakari mutters to Todo in the silence, “Kamo’s serious.”
Todo only nods, his eyes still lingering on Choso’s bare knuckles. He squeezes his eyes shut as Choso and Ryu move to opposite corners of the ring, his mind filling with a simple prayer that Choso will come to his senses.
Choso looks at Ryu across the ring, his eyes narrowed into dangerous slits. His side is still throbbing from Ryu’s hold, but the pain only fuels the fire in his chest. His fists are practically vibrating at his sides, Choso standing firmly while Ryu just looks down at him, leaning lazily against the ropes with a grin on his face. Then Ryu meets Choso’s gaze, bringing his hands up and cracking his knuckles, the sound echoing through the silent gym like a gunshot.
Choso keeps his feet planted firmly on the canvas, refusing to look anywhere but at Ryu. His breaths are heavy, the pit in his stomach only getting bigger as he replays his conversation with Ryu. He wants so desperately to deny it, tell him he’s wrong, but maybe, as terrible as he is… Ryu has a point.
If you found out the truth about Sukuna, the drugs, about everything Choso has done, he doesn’t know what you would think of him. A bitter coldness settles in his chest as he realizes he wouldn’t blame you for walking away. His heavy breaths turn rapid, a cold bead of sweat falling down his temple.
What am I doing?
Choso lets out a shudder, his firm posture suddenly dissolving. He remembers the texts from Sukuna,
Don’t let that girl make you sloppy.
He remembers the feeling of Sukuna’s fist connecting with his eyebrow. The exact words Choso said to him that night replay in a mocking register in his head.
I’m not scared of you, Ryomen
The memory makes his stomach twist, his fists slowly coming undone on his sides. Because for the first time, he can’t even pretend it’s true. He is scared. Scared of what Sukuna might do if he keeps you around. Scared of what he would do if he ever got his hands on you. He knew it was selfish to date you, to place you in danger, but the thought of letting you go was worse. Even though you’ve only been together for a few days, Choso has been hung up on you for months, and now that he has you, it only makes things harder. Because now he has something to lose.
A hand on Choso’s shoulder finally brings him back to reality.
“Kamo,” drawls Geto, his voice quiet enough that only Choso could hear. “You’re shaking.”
Choso lets out a breath, his eyes focusing on what’s around him. Ryu is still leaning on the ropes, exchanging laughs with some of the team as everyone watches Choso shudder. Choso takes a moment, Geto’s hand the only thing holding him back.
Wait.. that bastard thinks I’m nervous to fight him.
The thought is so ridiculous that it makes Sukuna take a backseat in Choso’s mind. He turns back to Geto, the presence of the room coming back to him as he realizes he must deal with what’s in the ring. The tremors in his fists begin to fade, Choso clearing his throat and leaning down toward his coach.
“I’m fine,” he mutters, “Can we just start?”
Geto gives a simple nod, raising his hand in the air and blowing his whistle to signal the start of the match. Now, Geto wasn’t the type to use easy sparring rules. He liked to treat practice just like the ring, no headgear or special treatment. Obviously, he would step in if things got chaotic, but most of the time, his students were able to be mature. Most of the time.
Ryu picks himself up off the ropes, his feet padding along the canvas as he walks toward Choso. The two begin circling each other, Ryu looking down at Choso with a predatory gaze.
“Not talking anymore?” Ryu draws, taking a sharp step towards Choso.
He raises his bare fist, sending a jab towards Choso’s shoulder. But Choso immediately dodges, ignoring the throbbing in his side as he leans away. Then Ryu begins to pile on. He starts showering Choso with hooks and more jabs, Choso skillfully dodging the harder ones and absorbing the others without faltering. Seeing that Choso is taking the defense, Ryu lets out a laugh, backing away to put some space between them.
“What’s wrong, Kamo?” he sneers, “I thought you wanted this?”
Choso hears him, letting out an annoyed grunt but refusing to buy into it. His mind is still swimming because of the argument, but Choso isn’t letting himself lose control. He already let himself ditch the gloves, he can’t afford another mistake.
Across the ring, Ryu noticed Choso’s brief hesitation. He has his gaze zeroed in on him. A grin forms on his face as he moves in like a predator closing in on wounded prey.
Choso sees him coming, resetting his stance and expecting to take another standard punch. But instead, at the last second, Ryu lunges downward, averting Choso’s core entirely and swinging his bare fist directly in the center of Choso’s medical dressings.
A painful gasp tears out of Choso’s throat, the gym falling into a heavy silence. Choso immediately backs away from Ryu, his hand flying to support his side. His eyes are practically piercing through Ryu, his entire body burning with humiliation. But Ryu just takes a calm step back, rolling his shoulder like he simply landed another clean shot.
Choso is practically hunched over at this point, struggling to pull any air into his lungs. His side is flaring with pain, his fingers slipping under his tank top to lightly graze over the bandages. Luckily for Choso, Ryu’s strike wasn’t hard enough to break the wound back open, but it was strong enough to awaken something much more dangerous.
As if the nature of the punch wasn’t clear enough, Ryu waits for Choso to look back up at him, his lips curling up with satisfaction. “Oh,” Ryu huffs, his eyes gleaming with a mocking innocence, “Was that the bad side?”
The gym seems to freeze for a moment. Choso doesn’t even react to what Ryu said, clutching his ribs in silence as he continues to draw uneven breaths, the rest of the team standing by in shock.
“Bro..” Todo mumbles, his hand coming up to his chin as he lets out a worried sigh.
“Ryu’s a dead man,” Hakari sneers, “Get him, Choso!”
But Choso doesn’t hear Hakari, he doesn’t hear the hushed whispers and laughs from the rest of the team, he doesn’t even hear the disappointed huff from Geto. His eyes lift slowly and menacingly, his body still trembling as he stands at his full height. His hands are drawn into compact fists, his side throbbing steadily and filling his core with an unsettling heat. But Choso doesn’t care.
He takes a step, his face morphing into a numb shell, the true irritation he feels buried deep within him now. Then the trembling stops, his side burning, but the rest of him cold. Ryu sees Choso moving toward him, his grin faltering just slightly. Choso doesn’t even bother with words, he simply grits his teeth, his mind completely blank as he pulls his arm back and swings. His sudden switch to offense takes Ryu by surprise, Choso’s punch landing perfectly on his jaw. The crack of bone echoes through the gym, Choso’s knuckles already threatening to bleed as he strikes again, and he doesn’t stop.
He throws another right hook directly into Ryu’s shoulder, making him stumble. Seeing this new side of Choso, his teammates on the floor begin to look around nervously, the jagged energy radiating off of him enough for even Todo to shiver. But Ryu isn’t scared, he’s intrigued.
“Finally,” swiping a thumb across his split lip before licking the blood from it. “Now this is getting sweet.”
Choso’s eyes narrow as he tenses his fist to deliver another jab, but Ryu’s faster. He starts hitting back, catching Choso with a flashy combination to his upper chest. It seems Ryu is only more motivated now, his mouth drawn in a focused line and eyebrows knitted together. He continues to throw punches at Choso, but this time, Choso doesn’t try to distract himself by blocking. He can take the hits, each time Ryu’s bare fist connected with his body, he felt nothing but coldness, like he was doing nothing but putting dents in sheet metal. Now that he’s not blocking Ryu’s attacks, Ryu can’t read Choso at all. He looks at Choso, his confident demeanor slipping for a fraction of a second as he notices the new weight in his stride.
While Ryu’s distracted, Choso manages to land a hit to his core, then another. He’s slowly backing him into the ropes, Ryu’s head snapping desperately as he realizes he’s being cornered. He tries to come back at Choso, launching himself off the ropes straight at him, but Choso doesn't budge. He lets Ryu push into him, forcing the two of them back in the center of the ring. Ryu scoffs, not saying anything but taking a far too confident swing at Choso. His arm goes wide, and Choso is able to dodge instantly, sending a painful hook right into the other side of Ryu’s face. By now, Choso’s knuckles are bleeding, the blood dripping down onto the canvas and smeared all over Ryu’s cheek.
Ryu moves to clutch his face for a moment, feeling Choso’s blood on his fingers with a sick grin. He stumbles back a step, putting some room between him and Choso before Choso can reach his blind spot. He looks over Choso's form, the realization that he could lose beginning to manifest. So, Ryu decided to stoop incredibly low.
“Hey, Everyone!” He yells, sticking his hand out to stop Choso in his tracks, “You want to know the real reason Kamo is so freaked out about this?”
The entire crowd breaks out into gasps and whispers, Choso standing still as Ryu continues to talk. He can either charge him and continue the fight, or wait for the perfect moment to catch Ryu off guard, even if it means he finishes whatever he’s saying, so Choso stays in place.
Hakari and Todo glance at each other quickly.
“Dude, what the fuck is he talking about?” Hakari whispers, his face starting to morph into one of worry.
Todo looks straight at Choso and Ryu, seeing the sudden halt of action in the ring. “I don’t know, but I’m not sure he can take Choso much longer.”
“Maybe he’s stalling?” Hakari laughs, Ryu’s voice quickly taking over the gym again.
Ryu turns his body sideways towards all his teammates on the floor, keeping an eye on Choso as he stands fully.
“It’s because that girl already thinks he’s hers.”
Confused murmurs continue spreading throughout the gym, Choso looking at Ryu with nothing but cold anticipation. Geto is already bracing himself on the side of the ring. As much as he trusts Choso not to take it too far, he knows the kid, and he knows whatever Ryu says next has the potential to dismantle him.
“He’s been hiding it like a coward this entire time,” He sneers, taking a fast step towards Choso. Their faces are close together now, Choso looking at Ryu and timing exactly when to execute his next attack. But there’s a reason Choso doesn’t fight offensively. While he’s focusing on himself, Ryu is able to snake his hand right to the collar of Choso's tank top.
Choso’s stomach drops, his hand braced in a fist, suddenly pausing in mid air. “Ryu-” He mutters, looking up to the heavyweight, but it’s too late.
Ryu ruthlessly yanks down Choso’s tank top, his last piece of leverage finally exposed to the rest of the gym. That’s right, the dark, extremely obvious hickey you gave him on the roof is exposed to the entire team. The floor immediately erupts. Some people laugh, some whisper, but Choso just stands frozen in embarrassment.
“No way! Is that…?”
“What kinda man gets hickeys?”
“Damn! Ryu wasn’t kidding!”
While the rest of the team basks in Choso’s humiliation, Todo and Hakari both look at each other in shock, with Geto flat out turning away from the ring. Whatever happens to Ryu next, he has coming. Ryu looks downright delighted, gripping the fabric of Choso’s tank top tighter and shoving him away. He lets out a snarky laugh, taking a firm step towards Choso’s corner.
“You ready to fight now, Kamo!” He yells, beating a fist against his chest, Let’s let it all out!”
The crowd erupts, the laughter continuing. But Choso doesn’t move, he doesn’t speak, he just meets Ryu’s eyes with an icy stare. The pain in his side is nothing but background noise now, the blood dripping from his knuckles, not relevant whatsoever. If it’s a true fight Ryu wants, then that’s exactly what Choso’s going to give him. Geto sees the rigidness in Choso’s stance, the way his hands are shifting by his sides. Now he’s very well aware that Ryu and Choso don’t get along, and he’s given both of them warnings, but this time, he knows no amount of intervention will prevent the inevitable.
He keeps his back turned, a hand combing through his hair as he mutters under his breath, “Just this once, Kamo.”
Choso doesn’t move for a moment, Ryu still grinning down at him maniacally. But he gets distracted, a shout from the crowd distracts his attention for a second, and Choso knows that’s his chance. He rushes Ryu immediately, landing a quick jab to his ribs, then his shoulder. Ryu stumbles backwards from the pure power of Choso’s hits, his eyes now full of shock. But Choso doesn’t stop there. All the shit Ryu’s given him for his injuries, his choices, and now his girl, he’s not making it out of this ring with that grin still plastered on his face. Choso feels the coldness in his body fade, replaced by a dangerous warmth he always feels in moments like these, but he doesn’t back down, if anything, he leans into more, like he always does.
He lets his fists convey what his words can’t, what his mind can’t. Right now, to him, Ryu is just a heavy bag, a canvas made for Choso to destroy. He was done with Ryu acting kike he was so superior, treating Choso like he wasn’t a real man. But in his haste, in his blindness, Choso only digs the hole deeper. He starts fighting scrappier, just hitting to do it, his eyes still narrowed into menacing slits.
And right at Ryu's breaking point, instead of just backing him into a corner or declaring the match over, Choso does something so much worse. In his efforts to prove himself, he tears a page from the worst book possible, his old life bleeding right back into the ring like his dripping knuckles. As he moves towards Ryu again, he positions his left arm to look like he’s going for a hook to Ryu’s shoulder, Ryu bracing to block, but instead Choso’s hand wraps around the back of Ryu’s neck. He squeezes hard, his strength enough to hold Ryu steady, forcing him to look right at Choso.
“What the fuck..” Ryu mutters, his voice faltering with a rare tinge of fear.
But before he gets an answer, Choso’s right fist crashes directly above Ryu’s eyebrow. Just like when Sukuna executed the strike, his eyebrow splits instantly, a thin line of blood falling down Ryu’s face before the wound becomes wider, spilling enough blood to blur Ryu’s vision. Ryu takes another step back, bracing himself against the corner of the ring as he brings his hand up to his eyebrow, it coming back covered in pure crimson. The grin finally disappears. Blood continues to slip between his fingers, dripping onto the canvas with the drops from Choso’s knuckles below. And for the first time since stepping into the ring, Ryu doesn't have anything to say.
It honestly seems like no one has anything to say. The entire team stands on the floor in silence, as if anyone makes a sound, Choso will pull them into the ring next. Choso stands still too, his chest rising and falling in a violent rhythm, pulling his hand away from Ryu’s neck and looking down at his palm. The blood seems to flip a switch in his head. His dripping knuckles, Ryu’s split brow, the smear on the clinic floor from Naoya, the stain on the pavement from Choso’s fight with Sukuna. It’s all the same to him, he remembers how it felt when his blood was blurring his vision, being nervous enough to get his eyebrow wound stitched, and you offered to hold his hand.
Choso's stomach twists as he realizes what he did. Stooping to the same low as someone so abysmal. I mean, it’s not like Ryu was innocent, but Choso was supposed to be better than this. He left his old life behind, left Sukuna, but it seems that no matter what, Sukuna hasn’t left him. He continues to watch Ryu clutch his wound, focused enough on him that he doesn’t even hear Geto coming. Geto steps through the ropes, clamping a firm hand on Choso’s shoulder to hold him in place.
“That’s enough,” He mutters, wrenching Choso back and away from Ryu, “Match over.” He continues walking towards Ryu, prompting him to lift his hand. When he sees the wound, Geto just lets out a sigh. “Kusakabe,” He calls out, “Can you take Ryu to the clinic? He’s going to need stitches.”
Kusakabe lets out a slight grumble, parting his way through the rest of the team and waiting for Ryu to walk down to him, “Yes, coach.”
Ryu shoots Choso one last glare, walking out of the ring and heading towards the door with Kusakabe, still clutching his eyebrow. The second Ryu clears the doors. Geto turns back to Choso, his face completely drained of emotion. His eyes are sharp, but he doesn’t look angry, he’s definitely not impressed either.
Geto steps away from Choso, leaning over the ropes to capture the rest of the team's attention. “Everyone out,” He orders, his voice velvety and smooth despite the irritation he is most likely feeling.
Hakari looks up at Choso, still in the ring, taking a step in his direction, but Todo pulls him back. “Don’t,” he mutters, both of them turning in silence to get their things. Todo knows his roommate well, and if he knows one thing, it’s that Choso needs some alone time to process things, and after this fight with Ryu, Todo might just leave him all night.
The gym starts clearing fast, the rest of the team knowing better than to stay after something like that. Geto turns back to Choso, his face still a mask of nothingness as he approaches. At this point, Choso’s mind has entered a devastating phase of clarity. He thinks back to Geto’s words to him on Monday, the warnings he failed to pay attention to.
If you show up next practice looking like you couldn’t control your temper, you’re out for the regional
And after the stunt he just pulled, he wouldn’t blame Geto for benching him again.
But, instead of delivering some harsh speech or telling Choso the bad news he’s expecting to hear, he just lets out a tired huff, looking at Choso with just the slightest gleam of worry in his eyes. “You’re done for today, Kamo,” He says, signaling for Choso to get out of the ring, “Go home.”
Without another word, Choso slips under the ropes, completely abandoning the completely bloodied canvas. He simply slings his gym bag over his shoulder, not even bothering with his hoodie, and steps out into the brisk air. By now, the gym lot has completely cleared, his beat-up sedan waiting for him right in the middle. He doesn’t get in it, though, instead, he leans against the driver's side door, facing away from the gym and pulling a joint and lighter from his bag. His shoulders tense slightly from the cold, but the second he takes that first inhale, his body becomes warm. Not the unsettling kind that courses through his veins when he fights, this time it just numbs the pain.
𝕽𝖊𝖆𝖉𝖊𝖗 POV
The second Choso left the clinic, you couldn’t stop thinking about him. You were honestly nervous for him to go back to practice not at 100%. But you trusted him. You lean back against your swivel chair, taking a sip of your energy drink.
“What could possibly go wrong?” You mutter, setting the can down. The answer to that is being bound to stumble into the clinic any minute now.
Eventually, the door swings open, hard enough to rattle the glass. You hear the chime, immediately looking up from your desk, the sight making your eyes go wide.
“Oh my god,” you mutter, your hand covering your mouth.
Kusakabe just lets out a long sigh as he guides Ryu to the reception area, his blood actively dripping all over the place. Your eyes scan Ryu, immediately recognizing him from the other day, but before you can put everything together, he seems to recognize you, too.
“Oh, well, isn’t this something?” he grumbles, his eyes settling on your face. He turns back to his friend, “It’s her, Kusakabe.”
Kusakabe lets out a huff of a laugh, giving Ryu a pat on the shoulders. “I told you not to run your mouth so much, man.”
Ryu rolls his eyes, leaning further over your desk. “You should have told me not to spar with a psychopath.”
This whole interaction, you’re scrabbling, trying to find anything to compress the wound, but Ryu’s last comment gets your attention. A psychopath, sparring, shit. Considering how battered Ryu was, you only know one person who could have done it.
But of course, Ryu has to double down. “Your boyfriend’s insane, sweetheart,” He mutters, tiny droplets of blood falling on the rim of your desk. His mouth doesn’t form a complete grin, but his eyes light up when he sees your face drop. “Seriously, that guy has some issues.”
Not needing to hear another word, you spring up from your desk, your chair rolling sideways as you lean into the hallway. Good thing Shoko is already coming, her eyes set on Ryu. She also looks at your panicked mannerisms, how you look like you’re about to jump out of your skin.
“Shoko..” you mutter, your voice laced with urgency, “I.. I have to go.”
Even though she’s only been out here for a moment, Shoko can immediately tell what’s happening. “Alright, go get your stuff, I’ll take care of this.”
“Thank you,” you call out, gathering your things. You quickly get all your stuff, not even putting on Choso’s hoodie you brought, when you walk out of the back door. The cold air nips at your exposed arms, but you don’t care; your feet set off at a desperate pace.
You reach the gym parking lot in a matter of minutes, your fears becoming reality the second your eyes lock on Choso. He’s leaning against his car smoking a joint, but that’s not what worries you; it’s the trails of blood dripping from his knuckles. His completely bare knuckles. His entire hands are practically running with them, Choso holding the joint between two fingers like there isn’t blood dripping completely down his forearm.
You feel a chill go down your spine, and this time it’s not from the cold weather. What happened to his hand wraps? He seemed so happy when he left… Now his face is just numb, the joint in his bloodied hand doing the rest of the talking. Choso doesn’t even notice you yet, his eyes completely glossed over, not even from the haze but from whatever thoughts are trapped in his own head.
“Choso!” You call out, but he still doesn’t notice you. You start off running across the empty lot, determined to snap him out of this.
“Cho!”
Finally, his head snaps. His eyes widen immediately, the tension in his shoulders shrinking. He lets out a smoky exhale, his face still frozen in shock as he realizes that you cared enough to come looking for him. Without a word, you drop the hoodie and your backpack on the pavement, throwing your arms around his waist. You squeeze him tightly against you, nuzzling your face into his shoulder before he can say anything.
Choso's arms remain stagnant for a second, his joints falling to the floor the second you touch him. But then he exhales, a shaky breath escaping him. Slowly, he lets himself into your embrace, wrapping his hands around you like you’re made of glass. His bloodied hands settle against your back, hovering for a moment before finally pulling you closer.

Chapter Summary: After getting cleared, Choso is excited to get back in the ring, but that doesn't last long. (Choso's POV)
𝕯𝖔𝖓'𝖙 𝕿𝖊𝖑𝖑 II - 𝕻𝖆𝖗𝖙 II
The second Choso steps out of his dorm, his hands form tight fists at his side. His breaths are short and ragged, lungs burning with anger as he clears the stairs. Each movement creates a slight sting in his side, but he doesn’t even care. The memory of Sukuna setting him up, leaving him beaten and humiliated for everyone to see, stuck to him like a scar. Somehow, someway, Sukuna was watching him. He wasn’t even mad about you anymore; he couldn’t be. All he wanted was to punch Sukuna’s face in over and over and over. He wanted to spit Sukuna’s blood back at him while he was down, he wanted to make his life a living-
“Argh!” A sharp pain interrupts Choso’s thoughts, his hand bracing his side as he finishes walking down the stairs. Choso eventually makes it to the parking garage, maneuvering painfully slow into the driver's seat to try not to tweak his injury. He throws his gym bag in the passenger seat, letting out a large sigh as he starts the engine.
The drive to the gym was silent, Choso’s mind racing. How does he know? Where is he lurking? Is she in danger? He’s honestly not sure what to do, every possibility crossing his mind being worse than the last. He grips the wheel harder, the muscles in his jaw flexing painfully. He hated not knowing, feeling like his life was a game of cat and mouse. And the worst part, he wasn’t entirely sure he was the cat anymore.
Eventually, he pulls into the lot, walking into the gym with a tense, desperate rhythm. The familiar smell of rubber greets him, the tension melting away. The gym is completely empty right now, the sun cutting through the windows, making it feel small. Choso immediately migrates to the bag in the back corner, setting his stuff on the bench next to it. The second he has nothing in his hands, he doesn’t hesitate. Instead of running drills or doing sets, Choso just starts detonating the bag, hitting it till his knuckles threaten to bleed.
Beads of sweat begin to form on his forehead, his breath turning into a ragged, desperate plea for a break. But he doesn’t stop. He hits the bag till his throat burns, till Sukuna’s words are just a dull ringing in his ears. He doesn’t pay attention to the pain, the frequent warnings from his side flaring sharply with each wrong movement. The bag is swinging violently now, his fists connecting with it faster, messier, heavier.
“Choso?”
The second he hears your voice, he stops. His fist frozen in the air, his other arm suddenly slack. The bag continues to swing without him, his breaths slowing to steady drags. The anger inside him is still burning hot, but his rigid frame starts to soften. The tension starts rolling off him like rain, his shoulders dropping as he turns to face you.
“You..” He mumbles, practically forgetting how to speak. He takes a moment to admire your frame before talking again, his eyes combing over how his hoodie is draped on you. “What are you doing here?” As you walk towards him, Choso finally notices an all too familiar glint in your eye, the one that made him forget everything else in the world.
“You talk too much,” you tease, the line immediately making Choso’s face heat up.
His mind, once occupied with Sukuna’s threats, is now completely overrun by the memory of last night. The hot, breathless moment both of you shared, but more so, he remembers how you leaned into him and how he felt when he was holding you. And now, he realizes what he was yearning for all along is closer than he thought. “You... you remember?” He mutters, relief crashing down like a tidal wave.
“I remember everything, Cho.”
What happened next was a blur. At one moment, Choso was stubbornly beating the bag half to death, and the next, he was holding you in his arms, your lips locked in a passionate kiss. In the moment, he wasn’t thinking about Sukuna, or Naoya, or anyone else, just you and how much he wanted this. In the moment, he’s not sure what the future will hold, but right now he knows Sukuna will not ruin this for him.
𝕮𝖆𝖙 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝕸𝖔𝖚𝖘𝖊 - 𝕻𝖆𝖗𝖙 I
The next two days practically flew by, Choso being completely engulfed in your presence. He didn’t have to think about boxing or worry about Sukuna, he just got to be a person, and it honestly started to heal him. But by the time Friday rolled around, he was antsy to get off the bench.
“Alright, Kamo,” Shoko says, looking up from his patient chart unimpressed, “You know when I said seven days, I meant seven days.”
Choso shifts on the exam table, his eyes lowering to the floor. “It has been seven days.”
“Technically,” Shoko grumbles, “Except for the part where you got into a fight with Naoya halfway through your recovery.”
Choso sighs, the room filling with an uncomfortable silence. If he doesn’t get cleared now, he’s going to go insane.
“But..” Shoko says, her voice dragging as she marks something down, “I’m going to let it slide because you were protecting my intern.”
“Thank you, Shoko.”
“Don’t thank me yet,” she chuckles, “You still have another week before your stitches come out, and it’s not like that side wound will disappear overnight.”
Choso nods, his lips pressed in a thin line.
“I’m serious, Choso,” Shoko says, her expression hardening. “You’re cleared for practice, not for being an idiot.”
“I know,” Choso says gruffly.
“No, I don’t think you do,” Shoko says, turning her back for a moment to set his chart on the counter. “Choso, you don’t understand how bad you looked when you walked in here last week.”
Choso’s mind flashes back to the night, just for a moment. A short, painful blimp of what Sukuna has put him through. He fully blocked it out of his mind, the blood, his torn shirt, matted hair, everything.
Shoko huffs, turning back to him. “Look, I’ve seen people after bad fights, broken noses, dislocated shoulders, the whole deal. I’ve even had to treat Suguru after he tried to finish a match with a broken hand.” A small chuckle escapes her before her face stiffens once again, “But Kamo, you truly looked like shit.”
Choso’s face heats up from embarrassment, his eyes looking anywhere but Shoko’s. “Thanks,” he mutters, trying to make a joke, but the word just dies.
“I’m just saying that girl really cares for you,” Shoko says with a small smile, “So do me a favor and try not to come in here all beat up again.”
Choso lets out a sharp exhale, slowly getting up from the exam table. He nods at Shoko as he reaches for the door, the mention of you making his heart skip a beat, “I’ll try.”
Choso makes his way back to the front desk, walking straight to the back of your swivel chair. As he moves to greet you, he’s finally able to process her words, how much you care. He spent so long stubbornly assuming his crush was one-sided. He always thought you would never go for a guy like him; every lingering glance just felt like wishful thinking. But maybe it hadn’t been after all. He sneaks around the back of the desk, placing his hands on your shoulders, turning you gently to face him as you sit.
“Well?” You ask, quickly turning your chair the rest of the way, “Did she clear you?”
Choso takes a breath, a dopey grin spreading across his face, “Yeah.”
Your shoulders immediately drop with relief, your hands flying to his waist as you pull yourself up to hug him. “That’s great!” You murmur into his chest as his buff arms close around you.
The two of you hug for a moment, Choso giving you one final squeeze before pulling away. “Yeah, it’s a relief considering I have practice in twenty minutes.” He says, his grin widening.
You let out a soft laugh, “Cho, why’d you come here so late then?”
“Because..” He mutters, his face undeniably flushed, “Your shift didn’t start till 10 minutes ago.”
Your face heats up as your eyes dart away from him. “Ok,” You coo, gently shoving his shoulder, “I suppose that’s an acceptable reason.”
Choso, seeing the sudden red in your face mirroring his, lets his hands slide down to your waist, pulling your chest against his. “I figured you would give me a bit of encouragement,” He murmurs, his breath hot against you as he leans down.
“I’ll give you more than encouragement,” you purr, tilting your face up to meet his in a tender kiss.
Choso holds you like that for a moment, his hands mapping out your waist through your scrubs. He likes how you feel against him, how the pit in his chest gets seemingly smaller when you’re around. And considering he’s going back into the ring for the first time in a week, he needs the distraction. Eventually, though, he pulls away his hands, squeezing your waist one more time.
“I should go before Geto makes me run laps for being late,” he says, though he’s fully hesitant about moving away from you. Eventually, he reluctantly takes a step back, turning towards the exit.
“Cho, wait,” You say, prompting Choso to turn back around. He sees how your eyes are scanning his frame, particularly his bare, calloused hands. “You’re going straight to practice. Why aren’t your hands wrapped?”
Choso sighs, realising he was caught. Most of the time before practice, he just flat out didn’t wrap his hands. Not because he was lazy or didn’t want to, but because he was inherently bad at it. He could never get the tension right and just ended up ripping it off anyway because it was uncomfortable. “I-uh, I was going to do it in the car,” He says, too embarrassed to admit he didn’t know how.
You cock a brow, “In the car?” A playful smirk tugs at your lips as Choso freezes by the door, "Absolutely not, come back over here and let me do it.”
The second you say that Choso practically teleports back to you, but then realizing how eager he looks, he dials it down. “Alright, whatever.” He says, trying to lean against the counter nonchalantly, but by the look you give him, he knows you see right through it.
You reach into the desk, pulling out a spare roll of black athletic tape and prepping it. “Hands,” you say, looking at how Choso is still leaning against the counter.
He quickly adjusts his posture, placing both of his hands in front of you. You lightly tug on one of his wrists, taking his big hand in your smaller ones. You start placing the tape around his thumb, holding his wrist steady, your warm hand making the chore Choso usually hates way more enjoyable. Plus, you’re actually really good at it, too. Your tension is flawless, Choso fingers fully flexible, but the wraps are staying on perfectly.
“There,” You say, lighting tapping the end of the tape to seal it, “Now just flex your fingers.”
Choso obliges, immediately flexing his fingers and watching as you admire your work. “It feels great, baby, thank you.”
You let out a soft laugh, the same one that makes Choso’s face heat up in an instant. “Of course, I’m sure this is way better than whatever you would have done, now other hand please.”
Choso lets out a mock-irritated scoff as he places his other hand in yours, but something tells him every time you insist on wrapping his hands, he’ll let you.
After saying goodbye to you, Choso decides to get to the gym a bit early, hoping that Geto is already there, setting up. He wants to catch him alone to tell him that he’s cleared, hoping Geto agrees to let him practice today.
Sure enough, when he enters the gym, Geto is standing by one of the practice rings, methodically reviewing a training clipboard. Choso walks up to him, his weak, ashamed expressions from a week ago completely drained. Geto looks up at Choso with a smirk, setting his clipboard down. “You’re early,” He says, giving Choso a sharp look, “I’m assuming that means Shoko cleared you for practice.”
Choso nods, trying to hide his smile. “Yeah, completely clear,” he says with a proud exhale, “No restrictions, I’m ready to be back in the ring, coach.”
Geto lets out a soft chuckle, Choso’s newfound enthusiasm making him crack a smile. “Alright, Kamo, but it’s going to be tough. There are only two weeks till the regional, and you’re already a week behind.”
Choso sighs, Geto’s words hitting him, but not breaking him. “Right, I know,” He says, “But I’m ready to put in the work.”
Geto nods, giving Choso a pat on the back, “I’m sure you are, now go hit the heavy bag before the rest of the guys get here. I know Hakari will be excited to have his sparring partner back.”
“Got it, coach.”
Right as Choso turned toward the back of the gym to head towards the bag, Geto’s voice stopped him right in his tracks.
“Hold on a second, Kamo.”
Choso tenses up completely, preparing for a scolding about his fight with Naoya or not taking care of himself, but instead, Geto was looking at the pristine athletic tape on his hands.
“Wrapping your hands now, huh?” He asks raising his eyebrows.
Choso freezes, his face starting to heat up as he becomes hyperaware of the tape on his fingers. “I-uh, yeah,” he says, trying to drop his voice to sound nonchalant, “Just wrapped them in the car, actually.”
Geto lets out a laugh, pulling out his phone. “Alright, well, it’s a good habit, stick with it.”
Choso nods, remembering how your small, soft hands felt while wrapping his, turning away quickly to hide his now red face. “Sure will.”
Choso spends the next ten minutes repping drills on the bag, trying to get his normal agility back before everyone shows up. Usually, Choso is a menace at practice, the best at most drills, and a scary sparring partner for most, but after this injury, he isn’t sure if he can give it his best. His fists lay into the bag, his mind completely dialed in for once. Because he is so focused, he doesn’t strain his side or push himself too hard, setting a good baseline for the rest of practice. Eventually, the heavy doors fly open, and some of his teammates make their way inside. The second Hakari and Todo lay their eyes on Choso, actually up and moving, the room gets ten times louder.
“Fuck yeah!” Screams Hakari, dropping his duffel bag and running over to Choso.
Before Choso can even blink, Hakari is on him, pulling him into a playful headlock. He ruffles Choso’s spikes with his knuckles, Choso groaning as he gives up on fighting the embrace.
“Finally, I can actually spar today!” Hakari shouts practically for the entire gym, “You better be able to keep up, Kamo!”
His other teammates hit him with similar displays of enthusiasm, well, most of them.
“Finally,” Ryu scoffs, walking over to the team huddle with his signature pompous stride, “The Choso Kamo returns, thought you would be out at least till the regional."
Choso finally manages to duck out of Hakari’s suffocating headlock, smoothing down his hair while giving him a sharp glare. “I’m fully cleared, Ryu, so you can stop worrying about my schedule.”
Ryu hears the annoyance in Choso’s tone, only stepping closer. He’s basically chest to chest with him now, the rest of the group forming a circle around them. He looks Choso up and down with a smug glance, knowing exactly what to say to dismantle him in front of his peers. “Honestly, Kamo, I’m surprised you made it to practice at all,” He says, his voice dropping to a low, mocking drag, “I mean, you’ve just been so busy walking around campus, who was that girl you were with the other night?”
The whole room goes silent for a moment. Choso’s face becomes beet red, partly from the mention of you but mostly because of anger. The crowd lets out a chorus of oohs as the two guys size each other up, Choso’s wrapped hands tightening into fists.
Choso grunts, “None of your business,” he says, gritting his teeth, “Just shut up and worry about yourself.”
Ryu lets out a slow, rage-inducing chuckle, raising a finger up and deliberately nudging Choso’s collar bone, right where the hickey is safely tucked away under his tank top. “Just asking a question, man,” He says, finally taking a step back and putting his hands up like he wasn’t the instigator, “save it for the ring, dude.”
“Alright, that’s enough,” Geto announces from across the gym, “Time for warm-ups.”
The group disperses, everyone going their separate ways to run the warm-up drills. Choso wanders off with Todo and Hakari, his good mood instantly disintegrated. Todo immediately notices the tension vibrating in Choso’s frame, knowing that if he doesn’t intervene, things are going to go south fast.
“Hey, easy bro,” Todo says, giving Choso a pat on the back, “Ryu’s just being a dick cause he’s jealous.”
Choso lets out a long exhale, remaining silent as he sees Hakari trot right up beside him.
“Wait, so you were actually with a girl?” He says, his voice coated with pure disbelief, “Who the hell was able to break through that iron core of yours?”
Choso feels a familiar heat crawl up the back of his neck, keeping his eyes glued straight ahead. “I wasn’t with anyone,” He lies, “Ryu was just... talking out of his ass.”
Hearing the fracture in Choso’s voice, Hakari chuckles immediately, giving Choso a light nudge. “Oh, come on,” He teases, “You can’t lie for shit, Kamo, now who is she?”
“No one,” Choso rumbles, “I’m telling you it’s nothing."
Hakari scoffs, “Alright, alright,” He says, putting his hands up, “Got it.” He says, falling behind to whisper something to Todo.
Choso narrows his eyes at them, but the second he’s out of earshot, he lets himself try to focus even though beating the shit out of Ryu is the only thing on his mind.
Hakari leans over to Todo, trying his best to whisper, “So is there a girl or no?”
Todo sighs, making sure Choso is far enough away before he brings his voice down. “Yeah.. but I'm not sure if-”
Hakari can’t help but interrupt. “What! You actually know something about this?”
Todo grumbles, “Yes, but brother, keep your voice down and just try not to make it a big deal.”
“Don’t make it a big deal! This is huge, Choso, the literal Man of Steel has a girlfriend, no way!”
Todo grabs Hakari’s collar, pulling him closer. “Dude, you have a girlfriend."
“Oh, right!” Hakari says, his eyes widening as if a lightbulb just went off in his brain, “I wonder if Kirara knows her?”
Todo brings his palm up to his face, practically dragging it in slow motion. “I don’t think so, now look, I think Choso wants to keep this under wraps, so can you just-
Hakari lets out a dramatic gasp, his eyes falling to Choso's wrapped hands, which are still clenched into fists. “Choso wrapped his hands?” Hakari mutters, his finger tapping his chin as he squints his eyes, drifting towards Todo
“Wait... he never wraps his hands,” Todo mutters, his eyes meeting Hakari’s, the two having the exact same realization.
The air between them is silent for a moment, the two of them standing like statues in shock. Then, suddenly, both men break out in huge smirks, practically grinning ear to ear as Choso starts stretching in the distance.
“Dude.”
“Dude.”
“I knew it!” Hakari laughs, “Whoever this girl is, things must be getting pretty serious.”
Todo lets out a low hum, thinking of the couple of interactions you have shared. He doesn’t want to out his bro right then and there, but unfortunately, Todo is just as excited about this breakthrough as Hakari.
“Yes!” Todo shouts, his voice turning heads across the gym, including Choso’s. Todo immediately covers his mouth with his hand, still giving Hakari a smug look.
“What the hell are you guys doing?” Choso asks, his brain too focused on attempting to calm down, then whatever they were discussing, “hurry up and stench.”
“Right, right,” Todo says, and he and Hakari gather by Choso to begin warming up.
The three of them stretch in silence for a moment, Hakari and Todo still exchanging glances at Choso’s slightly flushed face. Eventually, though, Choso moved to stretch his left side, straining exactly where you unknowingly pressed on his stitches.
“Ugh,” he mutters, holding his side as pain slowly ripples through.
Both guys turn their heads worryingly.
“I know you were cleared,” starts Hakari, “but are you ok, man?” He says, starting to take in the new bruises and cuts on Choso’s form. He wasn’t aware of his fight with Naoya yet, and didn’t know Sukuna was the cause of his original condition, but deep down, he was certain something was up.
Choso grunts, “Yeah, I’m fine, it’s just my left side.”
Hakari cocks a brow, “Ok, just wanted to make sure.”
If only he knew the true nature of what happened to Choso. Hakari had always stuck by Choso, even when he worked for Sukuna. He was never particularly fond of Sukuna, but he didn’t blame Choso for working with him, and even when things went sideways, he was still there looking out for his friend. God, if he realized what torture Sukuna has been putting Choso through recently, he would be furious.
After his brief interaction with Choso, Hakari looks back at Todo, but instead of snarky, light-hearted stares, the two just exchange looks of concern. They both know Choso is on the brink. Everyone on the boxing team knows that when Choso is aggravated enough, he gets physical. Just like during street fights, Choso has problems controlling his anger inside the ring, too, and especially since he’s coming off a week on the bench, everyone is practically walking on eggshells around him.
Choso, on the other hand, is actually feeling… fine. The heat in his chest has begun to dissolve, fissuring into mere nothingness within minutes. Before, he wanted to take Ryu to the ring, punch his teeth in, but right now, he’s not thinking about that. He’s not thinking about Sukuna either. He’s not even thinking about his fight with Naoya. Ironically, he’s not even thinking about fighting at all; he’s thinking about you.
The second Ryu shifted the conversation; it made his blood boil, his hands tense, but then he felt the black tape wrapped around him tightly. He felt how, for once, instead of being exposed, he was in control, perfectly ‘put together’ by you. He continued to stretch, looking at Todo and Hakari, but unable to pick up on their frantic, worried glances.
“What?” He mutters, looking up at them, confused.
“Nothing, Cho,” Todo says, “We are just glad you’re back at practice.”
“Yeah, me too,” Choso says, a small smile pulling at his lips.
Eventually, Geto brings the team back together to run drills. As practice passes on, it’s honestly better than Choso expected, his side isn’t flaring up, and most importantly, he’s in control, almost forgetting about the outside world and just letting himself decompress for the first time all week.
“Alright, go grab some water and get your gear,” Geto commands, “Dual spars are next.”
Choso lets out an exhale, preparing to partner up with Hakari like usual. He migrates over to his gym bag, pulling out his mouth guard case and opening it when he feels a sharp pain in his side. He drops the case on the floor with a clatter, his eyes widening with shock as he turns around.
“Tch-” He groans, turning to see Ryu’s hand pressed firmly on his left side.
Even though Choso got medical clearance, his wound there is still fresh, and Ryu digging his fingers into the medical dressing makes a sharp pain shoot up Choso’s ribs.
“What the hell man!” Choso says, his voice booming louder than he meant it, slapping Ryu’s hand away. His face was red, Ryu being able to hurt him so easily, fully dismantling his newfound confidence.
Ryu chuckles, pulling his hand away slowly. “Guess she did a good job patching you up, huh?” He says mockingly at his side, “Even got your hands too."
Choso rolls his eyes, turning to pick his mouth guard up off the floor. Just like any interaction with Ryu, Choso just wanted it to end, but Ryu just had to keep pushing. He steps closer to Choso, his voice dropping low.
“Enjoy it while it lasts,” He coos, “Once she finds out who you really are, she will come running to a real man," He says, mocking gesturing to himself.
Ryu’s words make something inside of Choso’s chest fracture, his hands beginning to morph into fists. Who I really am... The words circle over and over. A real man... Even the slight indication is starting to claw at his composure..
“What’s that supposed to mean?” He grumbles, picking up his mouth guard.
Ryu just lets out a smooth laugh, stepping more into Choso’s space. He bumps his shoulder with Choso’s, leaning in close enough so only Choso can hear him.
“You really think she would look at you the same if she knew?”
Choso lets out a frustrated grunt and slides away from Ryu. “Knew what?” He spats, his voice gravelly with irritation.
Ryu smirks. “Don’t play dumb,” he mocks, “You know if she figured out you used to be Sukuna’s little bitch, she might not be so insistent on protecting you.”
Choso’s expression hardens immediately. He tries to hide his shock, but it doesn’t work. He obviously never told Ryu he worked for Sukuna... Wait, there are bigger problems right now.
“Don’t look so surprised,” Ryu drawls. His eyes drift past Choso for a second, like he’s stuck in thought. Then he laughs, “That girl the other day, stepping between us like that, like you were actually worth something,” he says in between mocking chuckles, “it’s funny, honestly.”
Choso squeezes his mouth guard case harder, the plastic starting to groan.
Ryu just sharpens his grin. “Gosh, that poor girl has no idea who she’s defending.”
Choso doesn’t even react to the cheap shots Ryu takes at his character. Ryu always runs his mouth; he’s used to that, but the second he hits Choso’s weak spot, everything goes still. He doesn’t move, he doesn’t even blink. Ryu continued to taunt him, his mouth moving teasingly as more bullshit poured out, but Choso didn’t care. He doesn’t have many insecurities, but it seems Ryu pinpointed his one vulnerability.
He presses his fingers deep into the black tape on his wrists. His eyes are sharp, his breaths are shallow drawls of air, but Choso isn’t backing away. He’s no coward, especially when it comes to people like Ryu. He just thinks about that day, how you were willing to step between them, no one has ever done that for Choso before. They always just let the cycle continue the same one that landed him in the clinic last week. And at this point, Choso knows one thing is true: he might not be worth protecting, but you, your dignity, your likeness, he would put himself on the line for every time.
Choso stays dormant for a moment, not noticing how the rest of the team has seemingly made their way around him and Ryu. Suddenly, Todo places a firm hand on Choso’s shoulder, pulling him to the side.
“Bro, what is Ryu talking about? Do we need to step in?”
“No.”
Choso jerks his shoulder away from Todo, taking a firm step towards Ryu. He sets down his mouth guard, steadily gripping the wraps on his hands. Discipline, just shut this down, he tells himself. He remembers last time, how you stepped in before things got messy, maybe he could do that for himself this time.
He looks to Ryu, scanning the anticipation in his smug face. “Say it again,” he grumbles, much to the surprise of everyone around, “all that bullshit you were just spewing at me, I want to hear it again.”
Ryu chuckles, “Gladly.”
He takes a deliberate step to the side of Choso, looking around the circle of his teammates like this is some big show. “I think that little distraction you’re carting around will drop you the second she realizes what a wreck you are.” He says with a big breath, pausing for a moment as if for dramatic effect.
“Y’know, honestly, Choso, I’m surprised you’re not dead from the stupid shit you’re tangled up in,” Ryu scoffs, taking a step back so the whole circle can hear him clearly, “You’re not a boxer or man, just some worthless street thug that can’t go a week without getting jumped,” he declares, the room practically wrapping around him.
The second he stops talking, the room ceases to exist. The crowd is gone, and the light murmurs from Choso’s teammates are nothing but static to him now. He lets Ryu’s words melt into his bones, his still body suddenly tensing with an all too familiar pure, white-hot rage. Choso’s fingers loosen against the black tape on his knuckles, the semblance of control he’d found beginning to slip away. Without a word, he strides past Ryu, cutting through the circle and straight over to where Geto was silently watching the escalation.
“Coach,” he mutters, his voice devoid of any emotion. “I’m sparring with Ryu today.”
