huntthehunter: @deckthehollys it's kind of hard to ignore them...trust me I've tried.
deckthehollys: @huntthehunter maybe sit by someone in the theater and pretend your with them
Do you know how annoying it is when people call me Dee-Dee?
So, don’t do it, please and thank you.
Okay... I'll remember that. What do you like being called?
huntthehunter: @deckthehollies I think it's nice. I haven't actually been to the movies in forever and I don't usually talk about the movie unless someone brings it up.
deckthehollys: @huntthehunter well if you enjoy it then it shouldn't matter what other people say. Just ignore the girls
huntthehunter: I had a handful of girls tell me they were sorry for the girl that stood me up. Apparently it's very frowned upon to go to the movies alone.
deckthehollies: @huntthehunter well it's very lonely don't you think? you can't talk about the movie with anyone
Exactly. The great outdoors aren’t that great when you hear traffic the whole time.
Personally I think people should just let others stay inside if they want to. Not everyone is an outdoorsy person.
Stacks on Stacks | | Cadence & Holly
Cadence’s face relaxed when she saw who had bumped into her. She began scooping up the books that had been carelessly spilled across the ground. ”I’m really sorry, I should no better than to be in the way of customers.” Cadence carefully selected out the other girl’s books, and stole quick glances at the covers of each one before carefully stacking them. She then handed them over with a smile. ”I haven’t read all of the books in your pile, but I’ve heard good things. You’ve got a nice taste in books.” She then returned to piling up the books for the front of the store. Suddenly her eyes got wide, and she laughed. ”Oh, I’m so sorry, do you need any help? Sorry, I’m a bit new to actually working here.” She stood up and brushed off the knees of her pants, and smiled expectantly.
"Oh, no it's totally my fault, I tripped." she hoped that Cadence wasn't just saying things like that because it was required of employees. The other girl probably thought she was rude, and a huge klutz now. Holly tried to stop her body from reacting to what her mind was thinking about. She could feel her hands starting to shake slightly, what she said in the next few minutes had to respectful. "Oh, thank you, and I'm sorry about your books again. That's nice to know, I'm just picking up some things for me and my siblings."
She watched as Cadence returned to pilling the books at the window. Should she let her finish? It would probably be for best. However at that moment the other girl seemed to realize what she was doing. "I was just going to buy these but if you need to finish up with that it's fine." Holly's lips formed into a small smile. "How long have you been working here?"
[Hazel lets out a long sigh as she drunkenly walks down the sidewalk, easily swaying a bit back and forth with each step. She begins speaking for anyone around her to hear.] Doesn’t the moon just make you feel so alive?
[Holly looks around startled before she notices her classmate not to far behind her.] I guess? I mean it's really pretty tonight.
I follow the moon, in the night sky, even if I lose sight of it.
You know what I like about staying inside? I don’t feel like I’m about to get a sunburn in two seconds like I do when I’m out here.
Not to mention it's more calming and peaceful.
Just leave me be.
I’m fucking fine.
Oh... okay sorry to bother you.
Stacks on Stacks | | Cadence & Holly
Cadence carefully placed another book into the empty slot on the shelf. She knew the shelves of the store better than she’d ever know the back of her hand and always knew when something was missing and had to be returned to its place or restocked. That’s why the bookstore had hired her. She was a loyal customer with a terrifying knowledge of their layout who had refused to take no for an answer when they had originally declined her application to work on the grounds that they did not need another set of hands. But she had proven her skill and agreed to work part time during the summer, and they had agreed to accept her.
She needed the money, so even a part time summer job was better than nothing. Her parents had been bickering about money and who could blame them. With eleven people in their family and a dream of sending nine daughters to college, every penny was needed and Cadence was desperate to relieve some of the pressure.
Cadence finished replacing the missing books and grabbed a box of new books. She moved to the display at the front of the store and began to replace the pyramid of last month’s hot new thing with a pyramid of this month’s hot new thing, when someone bumped into her, knocking down the stack of books she’d been piling. She turned around, unsure whether to be angry or apologetic.
Okay, breath.
Holly stood inside the small bookshop, gripping tightly onto the cover of a book. She could do this, she could survive maybe an hour or two more. Her jittering nerves told her otherwise though and she tried to steady her breathing and her quick beating heart. This was her last stop, she told herself, then she could go home and relax, maybe even cook something. The prospect of being home so soon made her feel a bit stronger and she let go of the book she'd momentarily had grabbed onto.
Slowly drifting through the isles Holly stopped several times to check the titles of books. She was looking for some novels that had been part of her summer homework and some books that the rest of the family asked for or would enjoy. One book her sister had wanted caught her eye and Holly grabbed it off the shelf. It would make a nice present for her, or some sort of bribe if the case ever came. She knew the former was probably more likely since they never really got into any disputes.
Holding the small stack of books in her hand Holly made her way to the front of the shop to see if someone could ring the books up for her. She was buzzing with energy now that she was almost done and out of here. She could almost feel her steering wheel underneath her hands and the slight pressure she put on the gas. Holly had gotten her license a couple months ago, something she was grateful for since it made her time outside of the house shorter. Finally spotting a figure by a book display Holly let out a small "Excuse me," before heading towards the person. However she seemed to trip along the way and ended up bumping into the girl instead, dropping both of their piles of books. "I am so sorry," she dropped towards the floor to pick up both their piles, her anxiety acting up.
@oliviadgaf: A Day To Remember Pandora just gets me tonight. #rageworthy
deckthehollys: @oliviadgaf not feeling well?
If I can forget a week...
Yes, love. Yes I should. I should be drinking all of it.
Doesn't seem very wise.
