ATTENTION MARVEL FAN FIC WRITERS

There is a blog named megamcufangirl that is stealing people’s work and posting it on their blog, making it look like their own by adding pic collages (or just straight up using a screenshot of the imagine itself) to it.

I already found 4 of my fics in their “Masterlist” which is absolute bullshit…

While there are some fics in there that they “claim” they wrote because it was requested, god only knows if that’s really true. I will be asking them nicely to remove my fics from their blog and let them know that stealing is wrong.

Safe Blogging Masterpost

Since Tumblr is purging fan accounts from every fandom I thought I’d make a master post of resources for safe blogging.

What we know so far:

This started with  Backgrid and Splash New using reverse image search through a third party to protect their photos.

It was first limited to  paparazzi photos, events, red carpets and set photos.

However now it is rumored to be extended to other stuff like celebrity photoshoots etc.

A better, proper explanation here.

FAQs:

Rebloging is fine, only the original post will get flagged and deleted.

You get three strikes for copyright infringement and then your blog gets terminated.

If your main blog gets terminated, then all your sideblogs go, no matter if you are a member or an admin.

If you get warnings for your sideblog then only the sideblog gets terminated.

Notes or no notes, if you have posted anything from the above category, it will be flagged.

It’s not limited only to the United States, it’s happening internationally.

If your edit is a part of a larger graphic and different form the original offending photo you’re probably safe.

It’s not limited to one fandom, everyone is being effected from Marvel, to Musicians, to WWE, EVERYONE.

Protective Measures:

The best option so far is to delete any photos you posted (POSTED, not reblogged).

Like I mentioned above it was limited to only paparazzi photos but now it seems to be extended to everything that was not posted by the celebrity themselves.

If you’re very attached to your edit, changing the post to “private” may help (but probably not for very long.)

This is an excellent post about how to buy some time to delete posts or to protect your blog.

This website hides all of your reblogs so you can use it to see all your original post and delete the offending ones. (Also mentioned in the above post)

You can also take a backup of your blog by going to tumblr.com/settings/blog/your url and clicking on Export at the bottom of the page.

@captainevanss has answered many asks on this, please go through her blog before sending another ask, she has answered every possible question there is.

Future Blogging:

If you post photos in future remember to save it as a new post and remove existing EXIF details before posting through third party apps (via @tessathompsson)

It was a lovely day out so you decided to take a walk. You had been busy with work lately and were a bit stressed, to say the least. Your boss had been riding your ass for no reason yelling at you for every mistake you made, no matter how small. Not to mention every guy had been hitting on you lately from out of the blue. You wouldn’t have minded it if they actually tried to get to know you and not just use you for sex. It’s happened so many times it was like you could just sniff it out now, it annoyed the hell out of you.

After ten minutes of walking, you ended up in the park without even knowing it. You didn’t realize you caught the attention of a certain doctor. John had stepped out of the flat annoyed with Sherlock as usual and decided to take a walk in the park. The case that they were working on was a tough one and it was taking a toll on the detective. John was looking aimlessly around the park not looking at anything particular until his eyes landed on yours. For him it felt like time stopped, you looked gorgeous and it made his heart beat faster. He cleared his throat and straightened out his shirt and walked over to you. You had turned your back ready to walk out of the park when you felt a tap on your shoulder.

“Are you an angel becau-” John started before you interrupted him

“Imma stop you right there. You seem like a really nice guy but I’ve had a shit week and I don’t feel like being hit on at the moment.” You told him honestly and saw him deflate a bit at your words.

“I see, well what would you say to me asking you out for some coffee and I listen to your shitty week?” John gave you a gentle smile

“That sounds lovely…” You trailed off realizing that you don’t know his name

“John Watson.”

“That sounds lovely John, I’m (Y/n) (L/n).” You smiled for the first time this week and walked with John to the closest coffee shop.

~A few years later~

John smiled as he walked home. It had been a long day working with Sherlock and doing some shifts at the clinic, he just wanted to go home and relax with his wife and daughter. He unlocked the door to the house and was greeted to rapid footsteps coming his way.

“Daddy!” The little girl called and John bent down and scooped her up in his arms

“Hello princess, did you have a good day?” He kissed her cheek making her squeal

“You could say that.” A new voice rang out

John turned his attention to you as you walked over. You still looked as gorgeous as the day he first met you. How he was able to get you to fall in love with him and marry, he had no idea but he was grateful. Especially with all the shit, Sherlock pulled when he first met you and throughout the relationship. You stuck with him and gave him a beautiful daughter who he couldn’t be more proud of.

“Did you give your mother trouble?” John turned back to (y/d/n)

“Maybe.” She said dragging out the a

John let her down and she ran off somewhere into the house. He stepped over to you and wrapped his arms around your waist bringing you into a kiss. You closed your eyes and placed your hands on his chest. It was a short kiss but a gentle and loving one all the same. You both slowly pulled away and opened your eyes. A gentle smile rested on John’s face that sent butterflies throughout your stomach.

“I have told you that you’re beautiful lately?” John whispered as he gazed into your eyes

“You have, but it doesn’t hurt to hear it said often.” You smiled and brought him into a kiss.

“Have you no shame?” Mycroft asked you as he walked into your apartment.

You sat on the couch eating ice cream. Nothing wrong with that, well you were in just your underwear. You looked at him before standing up and walking into your kitchen.

“No, no I don’t.” You called back to him and walked into the room.

If it was anyone else that just strolled into your apartment you would have slapped them. But since it was Mycroft you let it pass, since he was your boyfriend. Sherlock, on the other hand, has left your place with a red face on multiple occasions. It was your apartment if you didn’t want to wear clothes, you didn’t have too.

“Can you please put some clothes on?” He asked you as he looked anywhere but you.

“That’s not what you said a couple nights ago.” You smirked at him

Mycroft glared at you and all you did was grin. You walked over to him and pulled him closer by his tie. You hummed and played with his tie. It had been a busy week for both of you, so this was the first time seeing each other in a while. You felt his hand rest on your lower back and smiled at him.

Mycroft grinned as he looked at you. You were wearing the underwear he loved seeing on you. You planned this and he knew it, and he wasn’t complaining at all. He could feel his pulse pick up as you leaned up to his ear.

“You know I have a nice pair of handcuffs in the bedroom.” You whispered and leaned into him

“You planned this.” He mumbled and pulled you closer to him.

“Then why don’t you punish me?” You sucked in a breath and bit your lip

“That’s kinky darling.” He whispered back and you smirk.

“I didn’t hear a no.” You said breathlessly and pulled him into the bedroom. Looks like your neighbors will be complaining again.
