“ yeah? was i suppose to pick something else? ” she may or may not be playing favourites. if it were chance or any of her other closely-aged friends, she would’ve made them do something ridiculous, like skydive when it’s below-freezing temperatures. however, @holygabbycakes was still a kid in her eyes, and with his childish antics of pointing at the ice cream and large pupils glimmering in excitement, how could she make him do something excruciating?

“ this way was more fun; i got to prove to you that you can’t beat me in mario kart, and i get free ice cream. it’s a win-win. ” she grins, pride holding her shoulders high. “ i’ll take the strawberry. ” she taps the glass, pointing it out. “ i’m feeling fruity. ” she jokes.

Gabriel quickly shook his head with wide eyes, “No! I think this is the best ‘punishment’ I ever had!” Of course he was thankful. No running out there doing the most awkward and absurd things. He stepped away from the display and turned to look at her with a playful sigh. “I’ll get my revenge. Not today it seems but next time. Next time.” He wagged a finger at her, grinning. 

“Ha. Good choice.” Gabriel gave her a playful wink and went over to the counter to make their orders. It didn’t take too long before they were served their ice cream. Two large scoops on a cone each. “Here you go, Noona! I hope you’ll be the one to buy me ice cream next time.” Of course he was only teasing her. Gabriel had no problem buying his Noonas and Hyungs ice cream if they wanted.

“as in reheat them?” he tried to define. “because i can reheat with the best of the best. awards have been made in my honor at just how brilliant my microwaving skills are.” he was far from a great cook, but what little skills he did have, he was proud to play up, mostly for theatrics sake and if it amused the rather adorably handsome aussie friend of his in the process, so much the better. rather excited for the time they’d set aside for this sleepover of theirs to spend some time together. all had to hope for was for underlying butterflies to just stay down there. 

“kimchi fried rice?” the blonde repeated in an owlish blink. “uh… my dad has a recipe? i usually chopped things and kind of know the basics. do we have to go get anything or are we all prepared?” either option, he knew he wouldn’t mind.

a twtich of his lips compelled the corners to turn upwards into an amused smile as a certain light twinkled in his eyes. something about hearing the australian slang come from gabe’s lips was always a source of joy to him. “yeah, mate! all ready to whip up some breakkie.” a burst of laughter followed at the utter failure that was his own imitation of the accent. “i apologize if that offended you.” he managed to get out through the noise.

Gabriel paused for a second as his eyes darted over to the other in disbelief and amusement all in one. “No~” He answered in a sing-song voice. “Not reheat but making them from scratch.” He allowed a chuckle to escape his lips as he finished gathering all the ingredients for their kimchi fried rice before adding in his comment, “Reheating eggs wouldn’t taste as good. Rubbery I would imagine.” Perhaps Seojoon could help out with the little tasks while he managed the more bigger stuff. All he had to do was stir fry the rice and cook the egg rolls. It was a little nerve-wrecking since he had never cooked for others before but living here in the complex and Seoul itself was a whole new experience.

“That’s great! I have kimchi, spam, garlic, rice and eggs here. That should suffice for a simple breakfast right?” He looked over the ingredients with slight worry. He waved Seojoon over when he placed the chopping board and knife on the counter. “Can you chop up the kimchi and spam in small pieces then?” Gabriel gestured to the ingredients and then pointed at the garlic. “And mince the garlic too. Is that okay for you?” Gabriel wanted to enjoy his time cooking something with Seojoon, just being in his company and giving the other a small task might help them bond too. Maybe if he cooked well, it might make Seojoon’s heart flutter even.  

“Offend me? That wasn’t the slightest bit offensive! You actually sound pretty good with the accent. I should have recorded it to keep it as memory. Say it again later for me?”

“Ok but the smell are really good and my stomach is already crying!” Cleo mused for him to hear it and she sit at the dining table like he said. “At least can I have something to drink?” she asked him. “Hm sounds good. I’m not soup most fan but I have to agree that Korean soups are delicious, definitively have something different” she said and grab the spoon, proving it. “Actually, this is pretty good”.

“I hope it tastes as good as it smells!” Gabriel nodded his head and poured her a glass of water before placing it in front of her. “I should cook something that you like next time then. So what do you like? Do you have a favourite Korean food?” Gabriel leaned in with big eyes, eager to receive her response on his cooking. “It is?” He exclaimed in surprise, feeling his heart swell a little.

Soojin looked at her suit. “N-Not as b-beautiful as T-Tessa T-Thompson but I-I’m feeling b-badass” she said with a chuckle. “W-Will S-Smith c-could d-dream” she said joking and chuckle. “I d-don’t k-know h-how to do this” she said with a frown looking at her tie and get closer to the younger.

Gabriel allowed a soft chuckle to leave his lips before shaking his head, “You’re right. It’s because you’re even beautiful.” He assured her with a warm smile, “That’s why I’m here.” He took her tie in a gentle grasp and began tugging on it, aligning it so that it was straight now. “There. All good now!” 

He glanced around and gave his shoulders a light shrug, “So where to now? Should we crash a wedding since we’re dressed the part?”

Gabriel stared at the customer’s order details with his mouth agape. “Nikita. You’re telling me that the cake we’ve been working on was for someone I actually knew?” He laughed in amusement and smacked his forehead. “Can I go along with you, Minho Hyung?” Minho usually did the deliveries but Gabriel wanted to tag along this time. He had the rest of the day off anyway, so he could perhaps head out to buy Nikita a present before the delivery this evening. 

The young man was now all showered and dressed up. He opted for a simple plain white tee, a black blazer over it and leather pants with boots to match. He quickly made it in time to return to the bakery to help Minho Hyung and his Aunt box up the cake and load it into the car. He was in charge of making sure the cake was secure. 

Once he arrived at the club, Gabriel stared in awe. He had never been to one and it was interesting to step into one for the first time in his life. Gabriel held onto the box tightly as he helped Minho Hyung transport it over to where Nikita was holding her party. “Hey Nikita, Happy Birthday!” He quickly greeted her with a huge grin the moment he saw her appearing and gestured around the area, “A very very fancy party huh? I honestly didn’t know we were making a cake for you but hey, it’s here and I hope it’s to your liking.”

Gabriel usually never minded if someone wanted him to teach them how to bake. He was passionate about baking and to see others wanting to do it gave him a sense of pride. He wanted them to experience the joys of baking too. A few days earlier, Fuyuko, a friend from the same Dallyeog complex had reached out to him for a favour and Gabriel was more than willing to fulfill that. 

Permission from my Aunt has been granted! The bakery will close up around four today. Think you can come over by then?

While he cleaned up and prepared the area, his Aunt warned him to be careful while she worked in the office and that she’ll be around if any problems arose. Gabriel gave her the salute and decided to take a small break while waiting for his friend to come through the back door. Sitting on a stool, the young man whipped out his mobile phone and tried to slip in a few rounds of Call of Duty.

Sweats while looking at all the IMs lined up 😆 DAMN I have a lot to get to. Sorry for not being around much. I’m kind of in a stressed situation so I’m not really in the best mood to write and I don’t want to mess Gabe up. Sorry for the delayed stuff, everyone whom I’m plotting with.

Just on high alert for any monsters that are strong enough to break down that door and get to me. Figured flames might help in that kind of situation so I was ready to turn on the lighter and sprayed some flammable gas towards the monsters. Yes, I dreamed of this the same night I watched a couple episodes of Sweet Home on Netflix.”

whisper a secret no one else knows “I stole a small sum of money from my Dad before. I just really really wanted all those snacks but he wouldn’t buy them for me. So I took the money and bought some for myself after school. He still doesn’t know it. I think I plan on confessing the next time I return home though.”

I do wonder how it would be like to stand on stage, to choreograph, to show the world what I can do. If there is anything else that I am passionate about besides baking, would definitely be dancing.”
