“You should let me sing at your bar, Lyra,” Zarina leans against the bar counter. Her lips curl into that playful yet relaxed smile, a sense of charm and allure weaved into them. Maybe she wants a certain curator to come over and see her perform, somewhere that’s different to usual venues. “One time, one evening. I’ll make it free for you. Or do you have someone who’s already interested in providing some live music?”

" hmm ... quite the negotiator, aren't you ? " lyra playfully hums, amusement present across peach - kissed lips. the request didn't come as much of a surprise to her; zarina's visits to her bar every now and then provided the bartender a few glimpses of her piqued interest over the live music that was present during some of them. ( the dazzle in her eyes, an almost innocent display in them like a child seeing stars in the sky free from city lights. ) she crosses her arms together, expression feigned into a pondering one. " well, i'll have to pull some strings around. " a lie; she was the owner whose entire operations was beneath the palm of her hand. if zarina wanted to sing at her bar, who is she to deny her ? no, she'd be a buffoon to deny her -- her voice would garner more attention, more profit for the bar, more credibility.

ruby - pink eyes flicker with a brief realization. yes ... there's also mr. achim. the two of them were in a relationship, so it's not unplausible to think he'd want to come here to watch her perform. was that also not an advantageous bonus ? his appearance at her bar followed by zarina's performance will no doubt bring her more customers. a win - win.

" consider it done. " lyra gives her an affirming, arms uncrossing as she extends her hand out to her for a shake to seal the deal. " why don't we schedule it for next weekend ? surely that will be enough sufficient time to help prep that voice of yours ? oh ... and why don't i help make it a surprise for mr. achim ? i'll be the one to invite him before he even realizes you'll be performing here tonight. i'll be sure to convince him. "

he tries his damndest not to get distracted, to fall for the butterfly touches trailing along the underside of his jaw right now ... but that's extremely difficult when he has noname pressed up against him while settled on his lap, the professor's arms hovering around his sides while he was midway typing his feedback to his students' assignments. ( how did it come to this again ? ) he remembers noname coming by ... a little get - together with some dinner. they were chatting in the kitchen, eating away. then settled down on the couch, adrian typing at his work as usual. and then .... " mn -- " adrian's breath hitches a little when he feels noname's lips linger along a certain spot that connected his jawline to his neck, forcing his fingers from typing any further on his laptop. his eyes flicker over to him, wondering if the frustration was evident at all; surely it was. adrian was the one driving him insane ?

one of his hands shifts to steady noname by his hips, and the lack of physical contact from his palms felt most frustrating of all. knowing that he can't touch him fully .... the torture of knowing that his hands can never physically make contact with him without these gloves was pure agony. fuck. without warning, never breaking himself away from noname nuzzling up to him, he hooks his arm underneath his bottom to hoist him up in the arm almost effortlessly -- his other hand holding onto his now closed laptop. " ... don't regret this. " he mutters under his breath, the silver frames of his glasses lowered from the bridge of his nose, and showcasing the haze in his eyes. while carrying him in his arm, he walks off into the bedroom, foot lifting to lightly kick the door to a close.

adrian’s cat is an excellent judge of character, and since she’s a ghost, she’s more sensitive to a person’s intentions. if pumpkin doesn’t like someone, she’ll hiss at them or have a tense body language around them, warranting adrian to be more cautious and distrustful of them.

muscles aching and bodies undoubtedly sore after another session of some casual training, bath time together was a routine of their's. taiyou always found it to be the best part of his day .... after a day of grueling exercise, bodies sweating, and muscles in overuse, relishing in the hot water followed by the smell of fresh soap and fresh herbs was divine. ( even better with a certain beauty on his lap. ) with one hand wrapped around his hips and the other massaging his thighs, taiyou's gaze locks down on phainon as he chatters away. his thumb rubs the reddened skin where his thigh straps were locked around, no doubt a bit sore after spending a lot of time and movement with it pressed down on his skin. he took greater priority in ensuring phainon's physical recovery compared to his own .... from planting sweet kisses along the line of his neck or the top of his head.

when phainon's gaze tilts up to meet with his own, he chuckles quietly to himself when he leans in to plant a gentle kiss against his temple; a butterfly's touch. he hums in contentment, his grip around his hips tightening. " i'm still listening, sunshine. " he leans in, planting a kiss of his own on him in turn -- a sweet peck against the tip of his nose. " feeling any better ? when we're done .... i'll carry you back to our room. you must be sore all over. "

" uhhh .... taking a stroll. " he was supposed to be a good liar. the vast amount of bodies, human ones, scattered around his feet were evident enough that it was a lie. taiyou kept it vague when he texted her; giving her his coordinates and telling her to meet with him for something important. ( well ... at least that wasn't really a lie. ) he shrugs, hands lifted up to ' surrender ' himself to her ... with bloodied palms visible for her eyes to see. " hey, i tried to warn them. think they were trying to rob me all at once on my way back from work. " he makes his way over to hana, hopping over one body that was practically in bits and pieces.

" but it wasn't my fault ~ it was in self defense, so i think that's a valid enough excuse to kill them. " like he said, he did warn them. he was at least nice enough to do that ... alas, they just couldn't take no for an answer. " anyways, think you can help me get rid of the bodies ? pretty please ? "

" no, you are not .... ?! how did this happen ? " hikari dropped everything from her hands, quickly rushing over to mello's aid where blood was pouring out from the side of his head. gently, she'd guide him over to one of the empty booths -- thankful that he came in during their closing hours; but not at all glad he was bleeding out ... ! " did someone do this to you ? did you fall down ? " wait, no questions ... she lets him sit there as she shuffles into the breakroom, trying to fish out a towel so at least put pressure on his wound and stop the bleeding.

hikari rushes back over to him, almost tripping on the way. from there, she presses a clean towel into the spot where she noticed bled through the most, wincing to herself at how much blood there was. " stay conscious, okay ? i can patch up the wound for you. " it feels like mello JUST went through something like this ... not even a week ago ? what on earth was he doing ?

he notices movement in the upper corner of his eyes-- warranting his gaze to flicker up towards the balconies of the apartment complex right next to him on the street he was walking on his way to the university. ( a foggy figure; small enough to maybe be a child. ) difficult to make out distinct features, but just enough to give adrian notice that they were not human. a spirit ? perhaps one lingering in someplace they had some prior attachment too ? it didn't give him pause, not when it was practically the norm for him to see spirits or ghosts that lingered in random spots that no one else will be able to see.

ready to continue on his way down to work, he's ready to brush the sighting off until his heart drops when he notices the child - like figure reach out, pushing a large flower pot off from the balcony to make it fall down in the trajectory of a bystander. immediately, adrian rushes forward, springing out with his arms reaching forward. " get back .... ! " he forces his body weight forward to shove against them, pushing them out of the way of the flower pot that shattered in the spot where they were just standing in; with a gloved his hand carefully resting on the back of their head so that they don't meet with the sidewalk too hard as they both fall down. adrian looks down at the person that he pushed down with him, concern over his face. " hey, are you okay ? "
