Let's lend our support to the Sumoud Convoy! Thousands of volunteers from all around North Africa are marching to break the siege by land. They are currently (June 11) in Libya, with many more Libyans joining up and providing them resources along the way. There are reports of business owners along the route pledging to give free gas and food to the convoy!

The next step is whether they will be allowed to enter Egypt. Countless people are flying in from around the world to Egypt in order to join the Global March to Gaza beginning tomorrow (june 12). The convoy seems to be meeting up with them there.

I have seen a few reports of 40+ Algerian activists having been arrested at the airport by Egyptian authorities ahead of the march. We will just have to wait and see now...

UPDATE late night June 11

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement basically stating that they will not approve of any crossings unless the necessary hoops are jumped through. The offical march page is stating that they have filed the correct paperwork and approvals months in advance.

People from multiple countries have been detained by Egyptian police as they fly in. They're not being treated very well. By all accounts, it seems like the convoy is going to have a hard time getting through Egypt.
