Recs for what to put in your bag when going to a protest:

• Covid mask for health, identity protection, and in case of tear gas (it’s better than nothing)

• hand sanitizer

- WATER. STAY HYDRATED.

- portable charger

-small first aid kit, including: antiseptic/alcohol wipes, bandaids, bandages

• wear good shoes, shoes you can kick and run in

• not necessarily essential, but sunscreen!

Regarding concerns about being tracked via cell phone, I recommend bringing your phone regardless. If you are concerned about getting in trouble, you can turn off WiFi/location services/cell service if you want. At this point, they are coming for anyone and everyone and if you get swept into an unmarked ice van or arrested, it’s gonna suck if you can’t call for help. Write or record a statement saying you do not intend to disappear, run away, or get hurt. Thank you to all protesters for protecting the rights of the people of America.
