YES CAN WE TALK ABOUT THIS MOVIE

Megamind has the ultimate example of a “nice guy”, Hal, who liked Roxanne - and he was clear about it. He “complimented” several things to her in the beginning, which guess what - were not flattering at all, but downright creepy, so really, it was no wonder Roxanne didn’t like him.

But after he gets his superpowers, he expects her to - he expects to be rewarded for being the “good guy”, despite the fact that he hasn’t really done anything for her. When she rejects him and later finds out that she had dated Megamind for a time, he’s furious that she would date the “bad guy” when he is the “good guy”.

Yet despite Megamind being “bad” and Hal being “good”, it’s Megamind who respects what she wants - when she told him to back off, he backed off, and then later apologized, while Hal was legit going to kill her for rejecting him. So really, who is the good guy?

This movie was so great at subverting the ‘nice guy’ trope.

And the guy who was supposed to be the shining example of a “good guy” turned out to be insecure and depressed at his status and kind of faded into the ether.

I personally think when situations like this comes up to ignore them. Both Bear and I agree that someone making gestures of disapproval is not worth catching a case over. It's not worth possibly missing work over. It's not worth hospital bills if some real shit pops off. We have too much to lose to just get into conflict on a whim. Now if someone tries to get physical with bear and they hit first and he will defend himself most definitely. To each it's own though. -Honey

For Date Night we had Chinese food. After reading my fortune cookie, I ended up tearing up. (I have been very senstive lately). The fortune is what I really want to happen, we are working hard for it to come true!! After dining we went to the Asian Grocer, they didnt have dumplings or potstickers. We were bummed about that since that’s what we drove a country mile and then some for. We went to IKEA afterwards to get stuff for the house and that’s what our picture together is at. I wanted to go bowling but he was pretty tired. He ended up taking a nap 15 minutes after we came home so he wasn’t exaggerating lol -Honey
