Reviewing Media: Games, Movies and Books that spiced up my ADHD Life
Hello and welcome to my little corner of the Internet!
I’ve often found myself drawn to stories that are told. From memories of events that the people I love share with me to the millions of pieces of media I have probably consumed by now- all of it enticed me into becoming a storyteller myself. Something I could call my own and not need to be good at. Something I could just do for my own gratification and reflection and something that would just let me be myself and put my opinion out there.
I have ADHD and GAD (General Anxiety Disorder) and they were pretty bad growing up. I often found myself on the bad-end of school, relationships and giving things the attention they deserved. Even those things that hit my dopamine centre, felt like phases I just grew distant from, without really having a chance to say goodbye.
So here I am giving myself the chance to reflect on those losses and sharing my love for all those things with you. A reflective backlog for things I wish I could share with someone. So here you are dear reader, taking this journey with me.
I’ll keep it simple though. Here you’ll find media of three types: Games, Books and Movies. They may be recent, they may be old and they may just not be out yet (trade secrets). As I ramble and spill my thoughts on whatever piece I pick for the day I’ll start by breaking it down into three categories:
How much did I enjoy it?
How much did it keep my ADHD mind focused on it?
Would I recommend it?
And then a little comment so you can find if something is worth the hype or if you should fly off and look for something else.
Whatever has brought you here- stay a while- and I hope you enjoy yourself.
