05.08.2020 | two posts in less than a week? who is she? I don’t know her…. anyway, a quick update to say I’m not sick anymore (yayy!) and I got back to writing. monday was very meh, I got only a few paragraphs written but yesterday & today were a lot better. but guys… this documentary is taking forever to analyze. I’m already twenty pages in and I still have ten minutes left to write about. it will be my longest film analysis yet, which means more corrections to make later :(
hope everyone is well and safe! 🌙

getting ready for august with my first collage-y monthly spread! i drew the bee from a doodle i found online, and he looks kind of funky but i love him anyways :,)

30.07.20 / i don’t know why but first thing this morning i endeavored to dust the top of my bookshelf where I keep my art books. i often wonder what my shelves say about me and what impression it would give off to strangers. anyway, after that, i went straight to paint because i felt inspired. sending you good vibes. hope your day turns out a lot better than you planned. stay safe ♡
28.07.20 / happy tuesday. i was going through my planner today because the month’s almost over and i wanted to see if i’ve made progress at all. i think i’ve taken lots of steps towards being more unapologetic when it comes to doing what i want so that was a lovely affirmation. i hope you’re facing the coming of august with a renewed belief in yourself. anyway, i’m off to do more readings this afternoon! take care ♡
For anyone who is struggling in school, please, please remember this. Your life is more important then graduating on time!
Spending my Saturday at the library 🤍
Today I’m doing something a little different for my 100 Days of Productivity / Day 11. Inspired by a reply I had on a @starsandaspirations (who’s super sweet and has a very cute blog!) post, I’m going to be detailing how I create my study schedule. It’s going to be rather detailed, so I’m going to put most of it under the cut.
1. Know when your large assignments are due.
As soon as I get my syllabus, I write down the dates of my major assignments, exams, and finals. I use a planner and a monthly calendar so that I know when my big deadlines are on the horizon.
07.07.20 / i was quickly reviewing japanese yesterday just to get into the swing of things again. i told myself i would study more advanced grammar and maybe i’m just stalling because i’m nervous haha. in the afternoon i had some time to finish reading A Gentleman in Moscow and yup, totally not crying. i hope you’re doing well. don’t forget to take care of yourself! happy tuesday ♡
Types of students as the seasons
all songs can be found on this playlist here
Spring: ‘Put Your Records On’ by Ritt Momney
gentle strokes of your pen hitting the page as nature’s hair tickles against your leg, pastel highlighters matching the subtle hues that are wet against the sky’s sunset, perfectly constructed playlists and working through ocean current problems with friends, sweetly blushing during the study dates with the person who tickles your heart and tiptoes around your thoughts rent free
Summer: ‘Grand Romantic Life’ by Mom Rock
frosted glasses of pink lemonade complimented with striped paper straws, rushing through the final imminent pieces of work, aqua dreams cooling you down, the feeling of catharsis after finishing an exam which has been picking at your soul, cloudy daydreams and glittered rays of gold, the final push at the end of the obstacle course- the sprint
Autumn: ‘Coffee’ by Early Eyes
sipping sweet caramel lattes under the lukewarm sky, the warming joy of researching a topic your heart swells at in the library, falling in love with the education you’re receiving, walking to morning lectures on cobbled streets lined by bonfire trees, starting your day with the scent of vanilla and flaky pastries, dampened embers being relight and sparking in golden joy
Winter: ‘This December’ by Ricky Montgomery
working through essays next to flickering fires cuddled in bobbled sweaters, embracing encouragement from your favourite furry friend, taking your fellow students warm beverages in their favourite mug for a blessed pick-me-up, strolling from class to class with blackberry juice pinched cheeks and numb fingers
I finally finished my summer school so I’ll be making more creative contents for my blog. Here is a small guide on ways to relax after a tiring day. Is there any specific content you wanna see? Feel free to give suggestions!
Thank you so much for your support ❤️

finished d.h. lawrence’s women in love yesterday - i picked it up just before the shelter-in-place started back in march, but have a tendency to start new books while i’m in the middle of others, and so it got lost at the bottom of my pile. i had about 100 pages left and endeavored to finally get to the end by this weekend - i ended up finishing it in one sitting! in the beginning, i felt that lawrence’s style was weirdly repetitive, but by the end i’d grown to love it. definitely going to pick up another of his sometime soon.
the other day my friend sent me a french article and i realized i am woefully rusty!! it got me wanting to start practicing and learning french again. so that may happen this week, once i can bear to stay in my room for more than five minutes. it’s been so hot these past few days that it’s hard to sit at my desk in the daytime heat, and i find myself sitting on the couch in the common room instead where the air conditioner is. lol.
it’s just as hot today, and i just used the oven to make lemon cookies, which didn’t help. but they turned out tasty :-)
anywho, if anyone has good resources for learning french please send them my way~ i’m about at an A2 level.
hope you are all ready to take on this week :D
monday july 6 2020
quarantine has turned me, a former morning person, into a night owl, sometimes i stay up until 2 am to read 🌙
The smallest sustenance: sitting in the sun with coffee, a half-hour run by the river, fresh sheets, phone calls with friends, reading, the texture of the soil in a tiny windowsill garden, pink evening light in the kitchen, dancing to the radio, cooking from scratch, re-organising forgotten papers, opening every window and door to let air in, putting a record on, fresh lemons at the market, heavy rain
a beautiful library is something that can be so personal-
11.07.20 / an old friend of mine once told me that my handwriting in japanese looks like it’s an incantation scroll to summon a spirit lol. in other news i gathered a bunch of scrap drawings and paintings i have laying around and decided to display it. maybe it’ll inspire me to practice more. happy saturday! hope you’ve had a lovely week ♡
