There are several factors we know which makes the life possible on the planet we live.This range includes the earth’s water resource, the solar energy which helps the plants to provide the necessary oxygen resource, the gravitational force which constitutes to the very existence of the planet, the very much of atmosphere we know and so on, which together in a way makes the life possible on the planet we live. Basically, these five elements carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, phosphorous, sulfur and hydrogen are responsible for providing life on the planet Earth.
Possibilities of Life on Other Planets
There are many discoveries which have found evidences stating that there are chances of supporting life found in other celestial bodies. The sustainable life on such celestial bodies requires a proper temperature which is neither too hot nor too cold, has a water source, solar energy and the gravitational force which binds and keeps the supporting layers in place. Even though there are many discoveries made so far which gives a belief that there is a possibility for the sustainable life on the other celestial bodies in the universe , there is no practical solid evidence which can be provided as a proof as of now.But still there are researches going on in order to find a life suitable planet somewhere in the interstellar space.
How the Earth can be destroyed
The life on earth even though it sustains from the enormous energy provided by the forces in the universe but the earth itself has an enormous amount of energy, which  requires much superior energy source in order to destroy the earth and its life forces. An analogy would be that it would approximately take the solar energy collected completely for a whole week in order to destroy the earth completely or a bigger heavenly body if bombards on the earth, then it can be destroyed. If the earth is destroyed in the nearby future by any of the possibilities, the life on earth will be depleted completely and the moon which is held by the earth’s gravitational force will wander in the universe without its own orbit.And all the man made wonders such as space shuttles, satellites will eventually fade.
Gravity is a force of attraction that exists between any two masses, any two bodies, any two particles. The particles stick together because of gravity, it is what makes a star, a planet. Gravity makes the moon revolve around the planet, the planet around the star and star around the galaxy.
Lets start small, if there was no gravity - the objects we throw in the sky will not come back to the ground, they will keep moving in the same direction forever unless they collide with something and change their course.Â
But without gravity there won’t be an atmosphere or ground, the planet is held together by gravity. During the formation of a planet, if there was no gravity the nebula cloud won’t be able to become denser and form a planet in the first place. The dust particles will move in a more random manner never coming together as one to form a planet. So, there won’t be any atmosphere, land or water bodies. Life will not be possible without Earth with its sky, ocean or land.
In the universe we see - asteroids, comets, moons, planets, stars, galaxies, black holes etc. None of them can exist without gravity. The formation of each of these heavenly bodies depends on the existence of gravity. In case of big bang the universe keeps expanding without letting any galaxies form, so eventually the particles would be so far apart that their existence will become insignificant.
In the above scenario we discussed what if there was no gravity, but what if gravity suddenly disappeared? How will our lives, the world and other things change?
In space, the astronauts suffer from bone density reduction and loss of RBC count in absence of gravity. If something is thrown away from the surface of earth, it will keep moving in a straight line and get lost eventually. So in case gravity suddenly disappears, you better stay inside a building and not jump off the surface of the earth.Â
But we have more bigger issues than not jumping and loss of bone density. When the gravity is gone, the atmosphere around earth will not be held either, it will exit into space, and so will most of the water bodies, only things that are firmly attached to the earth will stay.
The stars are pretty dense, without gravity there will be nothing to hold them together and all the stars will burst open into space, this will destroy all the planets and other heavenly bodies around us too.
Imagine if humans had control of the weather! There would be no floods or hurricanes. Farming would become much more easy. We could reverse climate change and bring any kind of weather in any region. There won’t be any extreme hot or cold weathers. There are many possibilities, but who will control the weather? What kind of weather would everyone like?
How can we possibly control the weather? Could there be side effects and downsides to this?
Who will control the weather?
There are three categories of people who could control the weather - The government, the industries/ capitalists and the public. If the government had the control, the weather would most likely be a mix of moderate sunny, rainy and cold weathers. They would certainly ensure that farms get enough water and sunlight. It will be a repetitive one more or less which people might get bored of soon.
If the capitalists had control over it, they would not worry much about the farms unless they are in that sector. They would prefer a cool and breezy weather which they find comfortable. This might not be the best for the planet or farms.
If people had the weather control, we would require a system where they can vote for what weather they want. We can’t expect them to vote for each time slot having what weather. It will be a repetitive pattern which they can vote to change slightly. Maybe if there is an evening rain, they can vote for it to make a windy evening and night rain.
What kind of weather would everyone like?
Everyone has varied opinions, some like sunny weather, some like rainy, some like windy and some like it cold. It can become very difficult to take into account everyone’s opinions. Going with the natural flow - mornings are usually on the cooler side, afternoods are sunny and hot sometimes, evenings are cool and occasionally windy, nights are cool. Rain is unpredictable - mornings, afternoons and nights. We could make modifications to this rhythm and make mornings cool and breezy with occasional rains, afternoons can be sunny but not too hot, evenings can be windy and cool, nights can be cold with rain. This will give most people good balanced overall weather, it will give enough sunlight and rain to the plants.
How can we possibly control the weather?
There are multiple ways to do this - one is by individually controlling the factors
For sunny weather, we will need to disperse the clouds. For rainy weather - artificial precipitation (cloud seeding). For cold weather - a denser layer of clouds to let lesser sunlight in and snow precipitation. For windy - temperature variations at different locations to create air flow from cold to hot regions and maybe some other practical ways.
Another way could be to control the weather city or town wise. Make a huge transparent dome that covers a city and condition the weather inside that dome. It is much easier to control the weather of one city than try to control the weather of a bigger region. It can also give a chance to have large variations in weather specific to each city.
How will the dome work? For cold weather- the dome can reflect sunlight and allow hot air to escape with artificial air coolers. For rainy - just sprinkle water from a water source nearby. For sunny - allow sunlight inside the dome. So as we see, it becomes much easier to completely control the weather inside a dome.
What could be the side effects of weather control?
A major question is who will have the actual control over the weather. This is a debatable topic. Maybe climate change will take pace because of all the weather manipulation we are doing. Climate change does not only involve global warming but also a gradual irreversible shift in the overall climate of the earth. With weather control it is inevitable.
