Success Criteria 2018/19
As the season tips off, let’s do it again. What would qualify as successful season for each and every team? Disclaimer: again, this is a VERY subjective assessment! And yes - it is obvious that it is IMPOSSIBLE that all of the teams meet these expectations ;)
Phoenix Suns: better than last year; >21 wins
Memphis Grizzlies: >25 wins
Atlanta Hawks: >20 wins
Dallas Mavericks: turn it around; ride the rookie of the year; make the playoffs
Orlando Magic: better than last year; >25 wins
Chicago Bulls: >25 wins
Sacramento Kings: >20 wins
Brooklyn Nets: >20 wins
New York Knicks: world’s most famous arena? need to make the playoffs
Los Angeles Lakers: win at least 1 playoffs series
Charlotte Hornets: top 4 in the East after regular season
Detroit Pistons: avoid embarrassment; >30 wins
Los Angeles Clippers: make the playoffs
Washington Wizards: survive 1st round of playoffs
Milwaukee Bucks: survive 1st round of playoffs
Miami Heat: .500 season
Denver Nuggets: >40 wins
Minnesota Timberwolves: do not implode; make the playoffs
San Antonio Spurs: time for lower expectations: make the playoffs
New Orleans Pelicans: .500 season
Indiana Pacers: better than last year; survive 1st round of playoffs
Utah Jazz: make it at least to the Western semifinals
Oklahoma City Thunder: make it at least to the Western semifinals
Portland Trailblazers: better than last year; survive 1st round of playoffs
Cleveland Cavaliers: better than 2010-11; >19 wins
Philadelphia 76ers: Eastern Finals
Boston Celtics: NBA Finals
Golden State Warroris: win it all
Toronto Raptors: NBA Finals
Houston Rockets: Western Finals
