Rest in peace, Tony Todd (1954 - 2024)
Harry Houdini had little tolerance for fortune tellers, mediums, psychics, mind readers or anyone claiming to possess supernatural powers. Houdini became a professional skeptic and would often attend seances in disguise to out the host as a fraud.
In 1926, he testified before Congress to support a bill regulating fortune tellers and mediums. Though the bill did not pass, during proceedings, an astrologer named Madame Marcia told Houdini he’d be dead by November. Harry died on Halloween in 1926.
