With the United States facing a daunting array of problems at home and abroad, leading historians courteously reminded the nation Thursday that when making tough choices, it never hurts to stop a moment, take a look at similar situations from the past, and then think about whether the decisions people made back then were good or bad.
According to the historians, by looking at things that have already happened, Americans can learn a lot about which actions made things better versus which actions made things worse, and can then plan their own actions accordingly.

Keep your messaging simple:
“Trump fired everyone in charge of airplane safety, and a week later planes started crashing into each other.”
That’s it. That’s the messaging. Don’t get bogged down disputing Trump’s false claims. Just blame him, in short and repeatable sentences.
Trump removed bird safety regulations in his first term and now bird flu is killing so many laying hens that eggs are $5 a carton
Trump removed food safety standards his first term and now we have recalls every few weeks
Trump cut the subsidies for the solar farms under construction so now electricity costs more
Trump disbanded the pandemic response team and we now we have bird flu and tuberculosis outbreaks
Hearing the whole “Americans didn’t beat the nazis” thing is so exhausting and counterproductive. Spoiler alert: America isn’t the only country affected by Trump, so this could apply to literally any allies in WW2 (which is more than you think, lots of countries fought alongside Britain and we’re eternally indebted to them). Also even if America failed to rid the world of Nazis in the past until like the last moment where they joined the allies, then surely now is simply an opportunity for them to do it earlier?
History is there to learn from, not to replicate in its entirety. Beat them back earlier this time, America. The rest of the world believes in you.
Don't forget, Trump was the one who tried to ban TikTok in his first term, and Republicans voted to pass the TikTok Ban Bill.
He didn't save it. He just flipflopped when he realised it made him look bad with young people.
And now TikTok are sucking up to Trump and effectively acting as an ad section for him.
Don't fall for it.
So many people are finding screenshots of celebrities allegedly doing a 'nazi salute,' to try and discredit what people have been saying about Elon Musk.
My favourite most recently has been a picture of Sabrina Carpenter which can easily be discredited.
This is the picture:
And this is the video:
Yep, it's just a young woman waving to her fans.
And this is why when you ask any of them who post the screenshots for a video, they refuse to add it in. Because they know the video is of somebody doing something very normal.
We are so absolutely screwed.
Rebuking President Trump’s decision to pardon Jan. 6 rioters, Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) staunchly vowed this week to continue falling down stairs in the face of an apparent fascist takeover. “I can no longer physically stand upright for a party that excuses a violent insurrection that targeted our Capitol,” the 82-year-old lawmaker said as he slid down a row of steps outside the Senate chamber. “There are certain principles I refuse to compromise on, and I will make that known by tumbling down flight after flight of these hallowed steps. Rest assured, I will not stop until every last bone in my body is broken and I can no longer feed myself or recognize my surroundings.Â
