hi guys! long time no see (ish)

i am rewatching/bingeing criminal minds

i haven’t actively watched it in 7-8 years. i’ve caught episodes on cable and stuff but never purposely watched it in order since i was in high school. i’m interested to see it from a different perspective now that i’m older

one thing i do want to ask is what episode(s) scarred you?

there are a few that come to mind for me, but the one i just saw a couple days ago was 02x07. it gave me nightmares again. i don’t know what it is about that episode, but it’s just not an easy watch. if it hadn’t been so long since i’d seen it, i would have skipped it.

it’s like saw but somehow it haunts me more. maybe because i was younger when i saw it. specifically the victim crawling over broken glass toward the open door and the sunset, before he closes it and tells her that times up.

i will say that the thought that 63 people going missing is just not noticed and swept under the rug is awful and frightening. that society has deemed so many classes of people as disposable. the homeless, runaways, prostitutes/sex workers, addicts, etc. they aren’t unimportant. they have value.

so you're telling me that by 8x16 Hotch still doesn't have Garcia's number in his contacts?! that's insane, right? like, doesn't he just have all the teams numbers so he can contact them at home? and, not to make everything about hotchreid (but also it's me what did you really expect), we know for a fact that he has Reid's number saved both from the moment in 4x24 when Reid calls and Hotch immediately knows who it is and also the time when he rushes to his office to meet with Reid literally earlier this season.

honestly, I don't know the point of this post. I mean, I'm genuinely disappointed in the fact that Hotch doesn't have Garcia's number but, also, was this just another excuse for me to ramble on about Hotch and Reid sharing regular texts and phone calls? perhaps....

What if they started practicing in the building's gym some mornings to work on Reid's hand to hand and Reid sucks ass until at some point the sexual tension builds past the point where he's able to overthink

And then he's able to fight just enough to get Hotch out of breath

They hit the mat over and over and Reid still lets out a pained huff each time, but his eyes glint with his focus instead of showing only misery

He's only looking at Hotch's shoulders and back for the play of muscle under his sweaty t-shirt, but it still lets him anticipate the next strike far better than his usual roiling thoughts- and once, he actually throws Hotch to the mat, startled at the perspective flip- Hotch's huff of impact, his face only inches away, and Reid actually bounces off instead of pinning him.

Of course, then Hotch stopped going easy on him, and Reid left with a double helping of bruises.

Ah well. That was only an excuse for Reid to look even harder.

Anyway this has been living rent free in my damn head for days
