This website is still here and some of the asks are heartbreaking. Like âJamie wants a new pair of jeans because heâs never had new clothes beforeâ. Or âKayla wants a bag with her name on it for when she moves foster homes again.â
A lot of these kids ask for brand name clothing and it sounds pretentious but having one nice new fashionable piece of clothing means a lot when all your previous clothes have come out of black trash bags from charities.
Btw, you can filter wishes based on gender, age, price, etc to help you find the perfect wish for you. This charity is LGBTQ-affirming (unlike a lot of religion-based charities that are unfortunately homophobic), so you can even look for nonbinary kids to donate to.
Also, I would really encourage people to be open to granting wishes made by older foster kids (14+) or young adults who aged out of the system and still lack family support. Theyâre so often forgotten.
If you donât have a lot of money but still want to help give a kid a nice Christmas, there are lots of wishes that are $24 for stocking stuffers as well, or $15 for a sqishmallow!
I just want to add that right now, there are so many pending wishes for food. Kids are asking for food from the universe (and yeah, âkidsâ includes young adults just entering the work forceâeighteen and hungry is just as morally wrong as eight and hungry).

the spark is, obviously, the power center of the frame, and the core of personhood. itâs what distinguishes a person from a drone, and creates connections between people that determine who their family is. it hovers somewhere on the threshold of quasi-real, as a spark is half-submerged in subspace within its chamber, otherwise the sheer heat and power of this magical miniature star would very quickly lead to an explosion. it technically generates power all on its own without adding fuel to burn, but trying to power a frame without energon makes the spark gutter out. the spark charges energon, which then circulates through the frame and brings that life energy to every area, not unlike blood and oxygen. in stasis lock, when the frame needs very little power beyond basic self repair, their fueling requirements go way down since the spark doesnât have to work as hard
the spark chamber is there both to keep the spark safe from the outside world, and to keep the outside world safe from the spark. if a chamber loses integrity, the spark will very likely burst. however, the chamber itself can be moved a little bit, lifting up and out so the connected T-cog and engine can be inspected. every spark chamber has four hardlines and ports, spooled away for interfacing directly with the nervous circuitry of the frame. it also holds innermost, a bright blue slurry of sentio metallico and highly charged energon that the frame draws upon for self repair. usually the innermost sits in its own section of the spark chamber, but it will regularly cycle into the same space as the spark to pick up charge again, and can be consciously pooled there as well
the engine is what makes the frame go. it works on translating the sparkâs power into actual inertia, regulating momentum and pressure output, and even burning extra fuel to add a power boost when necessary. while the central mass is connected to the spark chamber and T-cog, the engine has a network of motivators throughout the frame
the T-cog is the central hub that controls transformation. itâs not so much a singular cog that turns as it is a whole collection of functions controlling dozens of individual parts of the frame, how they fit together, what mode theyâre in, and how they switch between modes without intersecting one another, essentially the seat of power for oneâs alt mode. itâs connected to the morph core in the processor, which flips between what kind of sensory input and proprioception the frame uses depending on which mode itâs in. some T-cogs have a mutation which support a triple-changer frame, and some have a similar mutation which create Mutacons, but the average mech has one root mode and one alt mode
the spark chamber, engine, and T-cog are always closely connected, as it could be said they are really all one single formation. an engine cannot move the frame without a T-cog guiding it, a T-cog cannot turn without a spark powering it, and a spark cannot burn without an engine supporting it. the most common placement of these three organs is in the chest, but some have them lower down, or even in the pelvic area. itâs fairly common for onyxoid frames to have them between the lower two shoulders, like with Sky Lynx here
the processor is the central computing hub of the frame, where the personhood of the spark gains expression with logic, emotion, and responsiveness. while the main mass is always centered in the helm of oneâs root mode, there are multiple vitally important clusters of nervous circuitry throughout the frame that could be called mini-processors. beastformers especially often have a secondary computing hub for sensory input in their beast modeâs head, but it isnât exactly comparable with the central processor
Rossumâs Trinity is a rather philosophical way of categorizing anatomy, calling the spark, the T-cog, and the processor the most important parts of the frame, given how damage or infection of one will inevitably lead to the decline of the other two. some argue that it is instead a ranking, with the spark as the highest and the T-cog as the least. some say that the trinity should be the spark, the T-cog, and the engine, or even the processor, the spark, and the engine instead. while itâs a fun thing to debate about, Rossumâs Trinity is not effectively useful in medical mechanics and largely left to conversation instead of practice
the forges are where eaten material goes to be digested, taken up by the self repair systems, and distributed to the frame for upkeep and repairs. the placement, size, and number of someoneâs internal forges can vary wildly, and the diagram here is just as likely to be wrong as it is to be right. often times theyâre somewhere near the engine so they can act as heat sinks, drawing away heat from the engine to repurpose for forging. since theyâre made of metal, mecha donât burn through physical material as quickly as humans do and donât usually need a lot of food to keep their self repair systems happy, so their internal forges arenât as large as you might expect
the fuel tanks are where energon is stored and circulated, as well as other non-energon fuels to be burned by the engine when needed. they vary in placement, size, and number even more than internal forges do. for instance, many flight frames have tanks in their wings! they have powerful pumps attached that help drive the circulation of the entire frame, no matter where in the frame they are. theyâre also carefully partitioned with emergency shutoff valves that will slam shut if something punctures the tank, so that the entire thing wonât drain all at once
lastly, the protoform is all the underworkings and internals of the frame. struts, circuitry, wiring and tubing, mounts, joints, and beams, all carefully woven together. itâs usually modular, able to be sectioned off into limbs or vehicle parts or what have you. the protoform is covered by armor plating, and some of that plating forms functional kibble, pieces that perform one specific job, often only in alt mode, and thus have very little protoform connected to them. for example, in most cases a flierâs wings are not kibble, as theyâre important limbs that often have vital anatomy inside them, but the horns of a beastformer are kibble, especially if theyâre tacked onto the frame in root mode somewhere instead of being integrated into it. armor and kibble can be removed for a time without any harm coming to them, and some places are actually designed to retract or move aside, but protoform cannot be removed. armor and protoform are usually layered thickest over the spark chamber, but mecha can choose to retract them to show the chamber, for access to the spark, hardlines, and other internals

It was the morning after the party. You woke up alone in your makeshift bedroom, only a little confused. You swore you remembered Leo bringing you to bed last night-
Or was that just a dream? Didnât you just kiss, nothing more?
Oh, yeah. You remembered now. Spin the bottle.
You remembered going to bed after far too many drinks, and Leo walking you there. He had told you goodnight. He kissed your cheek.
Man, that felt good.
You finally made your way out of your room and straight to the kitchen. You knew tea was the usual go-to drink in this family, but damn it, you needed coffee and Tylenol.
âMorning.â
You jumped at the voice. âWhat the- Oh! Leonardo. Youâre awake.â
The blue-masked terrapin smiled at you, gesturing to two mugs on the counter. âI made you some coffee. I didnât know how many creams or sugars you like, so itâs just black. Hope thatâs okay.â
He made you coffee?
You felt like you could melt.
You walked towards him and slowly added as much sugar and cream as you liked. âSo⊠That party last night, huh?â
âThat sure was somethinâ,â he said with a nod, not looking at you.
âSure was.â You slowly brought the coffee to your lips.
âWeâve never thrown a party like that before,â he said after a silence. âIt was really fun.â
You cleared your throat. âOh, yeah? What was your favorite part?â
You were positively dying to know. You had basically planned that entire party around the whole point of kissing him. You were just so drawn to him, drawn to who he stood for and what he stood for. Not to mention his looks.

âMaybe.â
He hummed, looking into his mug of coffee. âI thought it was fun.â
You were both dancing around the topic you both knew you wanted to talk about. One of you had to break eventually.
âWas there anybody you were hoping to land on?â you asked finally, internally crossing your fingers. Me, me, me, say me.
âConsidering my options? Iâd say I landed on who I had hoped for.â
He wasnât going to admit it easily. You told yourself it didnât sting, but damn. It kind of did.
âYour options, besides your brothers, were April, Casey, Vern, or me.â
âYup. Iâd say the bottle chose well.â
Okay, he was giving a little now.
You set the coffee mug down on the table and turned to face him. âTwo can play at this game, boy.â
âAnother game?â the terrapin smirked, but judging from his eyes, he wasnât being sarcastic. He was being⊠Playful?
âAnother game,â you confirmed, but then you sighed. âThe only reason you hoped for me wasnât because I was the only girl option that wasnât taken, right?â You spoke softly now.
He followed your lead, setting his coffee down and turning to face you, hands crossed over his chest. âI canât say that was the only reason, Y/N.â
âDid you want to kiss me?â
âMaybe.â
You groaned in frustration. âWhy are guys like this? Dodging around questions, never giving a straight answer- men are so-â
You stopped when you felt his lips against yours. It was a familiar feeling, but also different. You were both sober now. You could really take in the moment.
It was over too soon.
He pulled away. âIs it so bad that I wanted to kiss you just because I wanted to?â
âNo,â you said. âItâs bad that last nightâs kiss lasted longer than that one.â
âWho am I to deny you?â he gave you a half smile before pulling you against him, wrapping his arms around you.
It took you by surprise, definitely, but it wasnât an unwanted advance. You were just surprised he was doing this so easily.

It felt like an eternity before he pulled away, but it still didnât feel like enough. It was like a drug, and now that you had a taste, you wanted more.
âThereâs just⊠Something about you that draws me to you,â he told you quietly, leaning his forehead against yours. âI hope Iâm not being too forward.â

They say that when you die, your whole life flashes before your eyes. In my case, it was shown like a movie at the cinema, complete with a much too large bucket of popcorn.
At least, it felt like a movie theater. There was a large screen at the front, but only one seat in the auditorium. I assumed it was for me.
In the back of my mind, I knew full well it wasnât a real movie theater. But that was easier for my mind to digest than the fact that I had just died. And I didnât know what was coming next, if anything.
I couldnât remember how I got to that room. It felt very similar to how when you wake up, you know youâve been asleep for hours, but you have no idea how much time has really passed. How it feels to not know if you had only slept for five minutes, like it felt, or an entire lifetime.
It was unsettling to think about.
I sat down in my seat, the popcorn on my lap, and watched the screen.

I watched my birth and all the gory aftermath that came with it.
I saw my first steps, heard my first words, all from the point of view of my own baby self.
I could feel my anxiety rise as I saw myself ride a bike with no training wheels for the first time.
The first time I drove a car, and the first drive I took by myself. Yes, I did make it to the gas station. I even pumped my gas by myself, something that had terrified me.
My first kiss. I did wish I didn't have to see that one again, it was enough to experience it once. We didnât last.
In all, my life was uneventful. I had no major trauma, save for a few car accidents (only one caused by me, mind you) and the eventual end of my life. I never married, not because I couldn't find somebody worth while but because I just liked being by myself. That was what I told myself (and my family, when they asked) at least. Kids weren't in the picture, unless you include my various jaunts working at daycare centers and caring for my nieces and nephews. I loved kids, but I never cared to have my own. Not on my own.
It was an uneventful, but rather short life. I was only twenty-nine.
I watched in third person how I died.
It had been such a beautiful day. It was the beginning of summer, so it was not too hot and not too cold. The sun was shining, the trees surrounding me casting small shadows of shade. I could still smell the spring flowers in the air.
I got into my car for the last time, not even knowing that it would be the last time.
I watched myself merge onto the interstate on my way to run some errand that would never end up being done. In the top right hand corner of the movie theater-like screen was a timer. It began counting down.
