When an image is recorded on film, light reflects off the subject and exposes a photosensitive material. This image is not a faithful reproduction of the past; it is an impressionistic depiction of transitory light. An image is interpreted once through the lens and again by the viewer. In a time of content indulgence, one would be wise to consume an image along with the intentions of its maker and a recognition of the control it has on the viewer's impression of reality. Non-static sculpture or "systems art" is subject to a similar series of interpretations: a transposed depiction of "reality" which is filtered through the worldview of each member of its audience. These works were created in my image of reality, informed by logical fallacy, geopolitical irony and reality television.
