"why dont humans have any cool features" we have boobs. be fucking grateful
the hell even. do people not realize how awesome humanity is?
Our Species Is Awesome, A Short List (Among Many) Of Examples:
-humanity has an incredible natural habitat that ranges from incredibly unreasonable cold, to devastatingly hot, from normal O2 concentrations and pressures at sea level, to very thin levels at altitudes thousands of feet in the air, *and we changed our DNA do to so*. There's a study that was done on a group of women in Japan who dive so often, culturally, that they evolved larger lungs and spleens to enable that! People who live on the tibetan Steppe have evolved to process and metabolize food energy and oxygen more efficiently because it's so hard to get either!
-no other species has developed the ability to walk upright, and doing so took *tens of thousands of years* and several tries to evolve right. We had to alter the way our hips, thighs, knees, and ankles joint and how they align. We had to alter our spinal structure and where and how our shoulders sit to provide a better center of gravity. We had to change how our skull sits on our spine, and even *reduced the size of our jaws and our bite force* to make way for the muscles to do so!
-we evolved better color and distance vision! And the range of skin and eye colours adapted to different environs to better be able to take advantage of natural light vs protection from it's rays depending on need!
-there are even studies that say we may have domesticated ourselves, which (for some reason, scientists have no clue why) means younger features, smaller jaws with less bite force and decreased aggression! *We literally evolved ourselves cuter*
-don't even get me started at how miraculous pinky toes are!! Removing that fifth digit entirely from a human completely alters our gait! Having the pinky toe makes it so much easier for us to run!
-not to mention, there's no other species I can think of that has as wide a range of phenotypes!! (The way a species looks and adapts in a generation of two. How genes express themselves) Do y'all understand how rare it is for one species, unaltered, to have the range of eye, fur and skin pigmentations that occur naturally in humans?? Most species just go "nu-UH, too cold!!!" but *humans said "bet. Hold my beer" and evolved a skin tone to adapt to the lower light levels and stayed there*. When other species said "nope! Too hot!!" humans rolled up their sleeves and *grew smaller to dissipate heat more efficiently*.
Just because you live in the Taj-Mahal doesn't mean it's not amazing.
