Hottest Sauce

My dearest love, my crimson fire, You fulfill my every desire. While others add a simple dash, I glug you down with frantic splash.

My eggs, my ice cream, and my cake, A burning, spicy, sweet heartache. I put you in my morning tea, You’re all my taste buds ever see.

The bottle sleeps beneath my pillow, Your vinegary scent, my favorite willow. I dream of Scovilles and of heat, Of peppers dancing, fast and fleet.

My friends all whisper, “It’s a phase,” And give me quite peculiar gazes. They don’t know how your siren call Makes me forget the world and all.

So let them have their milk and bread, I’ll have my lava, thick and red! This odd addiction, pure and true, I’ll always have a spot for you.
