New Pick! - Jigoku de Mes ga Hikaru by Takashina Ryouko (1973)
We proudly bring you a shoujo maddo scientisto story from a very prolific shoujo artist, Takashina Ryouko: Jigoku de Mes ga Hikaru (A Scalpel Glints in Hell).
I, the translator, have decided to pick this up after reading Julia Popek's article on 70s shoujo manga artists in the French magazine Animeland's issue no. 250 dedicated to Rose of Versailles. Barely two minutes after I read that a shoujo Frankenstein exists, it was in my shopping cart. We are lucky that Nakayoshi decided to reprint the first edition to celebrate its 60th anniversary. Let's hope more old shoujo get this treatment.

Just something intersting I came across during my last week's trip to Italy.
It is a compilation album of the Italian Disco band l Cavalieri del Re, active from the 1980s till now, who at the peak of their fame were responsible for creating the soundtracks for a large number of Italian localizations of various 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s anime, including the likes of The Rose of Versailles, Kimba the White Lion, Tiger Mask, Himitsu no Akko-chan, Yatterman, Candy Candy, Rescueman, Devilman, Tokimeki Tonight, Speed Racer, Yattodetaman, Norakuro, Ninja Hattori-kun, Fist of the North Star, or Cyborg 009 among others.
The album is, quite obviously, a compilation of their music created for anime.
