your regularly scheduled eliksni bullshit will be returning soon
House structure! How does the Higher ups choose who they want to be promoted? And what's a surefire way to be exiled, or considered to be exiled?
OKAY, SO,
Obviously some of this would vary by House and by Kell / Baron / Etc, but for the majority of eliksni, valor in battle and proving yourself through successes is the #1 to catch the eye of a superior. Making them and your House look good won’t be forgotten.
Valued traits vary from place to place. In Devils, being cunning, manipulative and bloodthirsty is praised much more than say, those traits would be favored in Kings. While Kings would probably value honor and nobility much more. (I’m actually going to write a post on valued traits and stereotypes sometime soon, it’s next on my to-do list!)
When it comes to eliksni hierarchy, there can be a lot of sucking up and trying to get on superior’s good sides. However, some Houses also see a lot of deception as well. With how cutthroat things are, sometimes the death of a superior isn’t quite an accident, and those who made it happen try to wiggle their way up.
Exile can happen for a lot of reasons, sometimes a variety of circumstances and depending on a kell’s mood. The ritual docking that sends any eliksni back go dreg status would be the first “really bad” punishment. t’s also not unusual for someone who betrayed the house to be outright killed or maimed to make a show out of it and scare the subordinates back into submission. I feel like a lot of eliksni would see exile as a death sentence, out in the elements alone, no ether, guardians about – so in some ways, it would be sentencing someone to death, but slower and with more suffering.
I’m not sure if anyone’s interested, but... anyone have any questions about my headcanons? On or off anonymous?
I have so much thought for the eliksni (and I am writing more posts) but it’s hard to get EVERYTHING down.
Basically this is an “ask me about my headcanons” meme but I can’t find one to reblog......
🐻🍦🐶
🐻- Do you have any stuffed animals?
Hell yeah!!! I have more than I can probably list... plenty of them are Pokemon plushes, a big toothless build a bear plush, Yoshi from mario because he’s really cute. The most important one tho is this really raggedy husky stuffed animal who looks like shit but I sleep with every night. His name is Kennedy after one of my favorite OCs I’ve had (an original world character who I miss developing...)
🍦- Favorite ice cream flavor?
I like coffee ice cream. Anything with brownies. Good ol’ strawberry. There’s very little ice cream I won’t eat.
🐶- Favorite animal?
my ABSOLUTE favorite animal is probably a wolf, because no matter how old I get I retain a sort of spiritual connection with them (yeah.... I was a Wolf Kid and it just never went away).
a close second is a Hyena and, of course, I love love love birds especially small parrots

NAHARIKS
It didn’t take much longer for Nahariks to completely lose consciousness again. For a few moments, he dipped in and out as the wretch struggled underneath him. He wanted to move, but his body would not obey him. Six days doing nothing but fighting and running did that to even the strongest of Eliksni. His vision ended up fading out right as the others came to help the smaller male, and as such, he was fairly unresponsive when he was moved. Other than his harsh breathing and the fact that the wound on his face was still bleeding slightly, he showed no other real signs of being alive.
In truth? Javreks and his crew likely came just in time to save his life.
And it did take two people to move him to the building. Nahariks hung limp as he was dragged through the snow and into the building, and he wouldn’t wake for a couple hours at least. But he was safe now, and getting warmer.
Eventually, the young baron did begin to stir. The nearby fire provided warmth, something he knew he wasn’t around when he lost consciousness. He’d been halfway buried in snow. As he realized this change, he slowly began to open his eyes. For a moment, his vision was blurry. Or, what remained of his vision, rather. His two injured eyes were shut from both pain and for fear of bothering his wound more.
Even with the fire, though, there was a certain numbness toward the bottom of his left leg, just above the ankle. There was a tear in his armor and body suit, exposing him against the cold. Even with his armor to cover him, six days straight in the middle of Old Russia’s winter was deadly. He grimaces a bit, letting out a quiet groan as his head lifted up, but was quick to fall back down as he exhaled. Frostbite had set in to his leg, and there was a pained hiss as he tried to move his foot.
It was at that moment, though, that the wounded Kings baron realized he wasn’t alone. His undamaged eyes flick up when some movement catches his attention and he tenses up, searching for any of his weapons that he might have had on his person-
But he stopped, eyes widening in surprise for a moment when his vision began to clear and he saw..
“…Javreks..?”
The managed to drag Nahariks into the building with a bit of struggle, but it was easier from there. Javreks’ squad had set up a camp quickly, a fire crackling and warming the building while the subordinates scurried around and tried to block off the holes of the building where the cold wind tried to blow through. It was a rather makeshift job, but it helped, and slowly the building started to warm up as snow began to fall heavily outside of it.
Hours passed by, and the building fell into silence. Most of those in Javreks’ squad found somewhere to sleep for the night, some on the floor and some curled up in random places they could climb to. But, Javreks stayed awake even as it grew later, watching over his squad as well as his old friend.
He’d tried to clean wounds on Nahariks’ face, and he had a bit, but they needed attention from a seasoned medic. The other male looked bad, and Javreks wasn’t sure what to even do for him out in the middle of nowhere. All he could hope is that the fire and the warmth of the building would be enough, and hopefully, they could get proper help before any sort of vile infection spread....
Honestly, he wasn’t even sure if Nahariks would wake up. Xanphiks had claimed he was, which is how he’d ended up somehow stuck under the Kings’ baron. But for a long few hours, there was very little sign of life. Until finally, there was movement. Javreks watched for a long few moments, waiting, seeing the other male seem to have a moment of fear as he comes-to before he speaks.
Javreks. There’s a rush of relief, then, that he’s recognized. He’s changed just a bit since Nahariks had seen him last, grown a bit bigger, but is still definitely recognizable.
“It’s about time you woke up, you big lug.” He tries to joke despite the strangeness of the situation. “You look like you took a beating.”
oh, also, I wrote Rhikan’s full profile last night
ELIKSNI HEADCANONS II: BIOLOGY, PT 2: GENITALS
With the androgyny of their species, there’s not many ways to tell male and female apart. At first glance, they’re practically identical, any genitals hidden by the thick patches of exoskeleton their body holds. But even past that, the parts of their body have very little variation, leading to plenty of confusion as humanity has tried to study them.
That being said, nearly all eliksni have both a – for lack of better terms – a penis and a vagina. Not exactly parallel to any earth species, but similar enough that it can be classified as such.
Eliksni genitalia doesn’t develop much until they reach puberty, but once the hormones set in, it’s very obvious. While all genders develop a penis-like organ, it’s – for the most part – hidden. Eliksni penises are retractable, hidden inside of their body until they are aroused. Once they are aroused, it appears from a slit-like opening that is rather hidden from view most of the time. Typically, the size of an eliksni’s penis grows along with them as they rise through ranks and grow with ether, though they do also get larger with age.
Their penises can be described as tentacle-like and are capable of a limited amount of movement and flexibility, unlike human penises. They can twist around one another (a common form of non-penetrative sex in their species) and move inside of their partner. The texture can be described as almost velvety, though damp, as their penises are also self-lubricating. The way they act is similar to a long tongue.
Mature males often again a second penis as well, though it’s always smaller than their primary one. Due to the size variation of their species, it’s theorized that it may be for the purpose of mating with smaller eliksni. This second organ may not show up until much later in their life, but acts very similar, appearing from under the primary penis when aroused.
On the flip side, eliksni vaginas aren’t very different in purpose from a human’s, though the kind of material the vaginal canal is made of is very forgiving and elastic compared to humans.
I’m going to use this sinday coming up as an excuse to talk in detail about eliksni dicks :)
STRANGER IN THE SNOW
For a long few seconds, Nahariks knew nothing but rage. Rage and fear. But he didn’t let the latter show. He snarls quietly, much of his energy fading fast, which meant that his grip on the smaller male’s neck was weakening. A couple drops of blood dripped down his face as he stared at the stranger and finally registered his frightened words. He wasn’t planning to cause harm, and now that he was focusing, he was calming down and the weight of his wounds hung over his shoulders.
There’s a low growl as he exhales slowly and the large baron pitches forward, losing his grip on the wretch completely, but he ends up falling on top of the smaller male with a groan. It came crashing down on him, how tired he was, and the amount of pain he was in. Even if the stranger did want to hurt him, there was no way that Nahariks could fight back in his condition. And now he had the smaller man pinned, unable to move any further as he just barely hung onto consciousness.
Hopefully Xanphiks didn’t come alone. Another storm was brewing on the horizon and if help didn’t come, they were sure to both freeze to death if he didn’t get out from under the large baron.
The grip on his neck began to loosen, and for the smallest moment, Xanphiks thought he was going to be okay. But before he had any sort of chance to wiggle out from under the larger male and escape... the entire weight of the larger eliksni’s body came down on him. An immense pressure, instantly making it hard to breathe.
He tried to struggle again, but his arms had been pinned painfully against his own chest, and squirming was pretty much useless. He gasped in what he could of breath, which wasn’t much, unable to cry out. Oh! This was the end for him! Pinned under the weight of an angry, dying man! He was going to slowly starve! Or freeze! Or both!
Luckily for Xanphiks, though, his initial cry of fear had rang out far enough for some of his squad to hear in the silent, snowy day. It was only moments before the crunching of snow could be heard, his head trying to twist towards the source but unable to see what it was. Even more fear came, his mind picturing all sorts of dangerous creatures -- Hive, Lightbearers, Weird Earth Beasts --
“Oh -- you stupid dreg.” He heard the hiss, words harsh, but voice familiar. Then, she came into view, confirming his thoughts.
“Rhikan.” He breathed the name, never happier in his life to see another face. Well, as far as he could remember. “P-please, he’s--”
“Javreks, sir! I found him!” She interrupted him to call out, and more footsteps brought his Baron into his line of view as well. The way that his superior looked down at him... annoyed. Disappointed. Xanphiks averted his gaze.
“How did you manage -- you know what. I don’t want to know.” The Baron said. “Rhikan. Help me push him off.”
A noise of confirmation came from the marauder, and suddenly, the weight of the strange Kings male was lifted off of him. Instantly, Xanphiks scurried out from under the body, gasping full breaths in, promising himself silently that he’d never take breath for granted again.
To the side, Javreks kneeled down beside the bleeding body, investigating. The gashes and wounds the other male had gained had made him hard to recognize, but slowly, a dawning came over him. Javreks knew him.
“Nahariks.” He breathed the name. A Baron he’d known back in Kings, another young eliksni who had gained power faster than most. What in the world was he doing out here?
Head tilted up to the sky, he could see the dark clouds forming. They were in for quite a snowstorm, and soon. There’s no way that they could get Nahariks back to Dusk before it hit, even if his squad helped. They were much too far away from the base.
However, he couldn’t leave the other man out here to freeze and die. Eyes moved, finding an old building that seemed mostly in-tact.
“Rhikan. Help me carry him into that building. We’ll set up camp before the storm hits.” He ordered, and then turned his gaze to Xanphiks. “And you. Find the rest of our squad. And -- don’t get stuck under something again.”
They didn’t have a lot of extra supplies, but he could at least patch his old friend up enough to give him a chance. Plus, a warm fire couldn’t hurt.
Javreks’ full bio is now up!
I’m going to finally work on expanding the profiles for my muses now that I’m back and have more time, but also I’m going to be making Javreks the “primary” muse of this blog. Which means... the others will still be here and can have threads if requested, or sometimes I’ll even make starters with them, but he’ll kind of be the One Main Guy if no other muse is specified.
When I originally made this blog I intended for his Epheras, the kell, to be the main muse but... it’s incredibly hard to justify a kell coming out of hiding for threads, especially with Guardians. Javreks is the most guardian-friendly muse of this batch and also kind of the center of all the muses anyway (the kell is his mother, the other muses are his squad).
THIEVING LIGHTBEARER
continued from here | @housedusk
Scouting. From what the Titan understood it was all just looking at stuff, shooting things, and opening up every cache you found and taking what was useful. Hunters made it all sound so complicated. Herschel would politely listen to the advice they gave on being stealthy and then, well, go tromping off like the titan he was.
And what did it matter? So many enemies kept their stuff unguarded anyways! The chest he was currently pawing through was decently well hidden and he would have just walked on by looking for more dusklight crystal if the Grand Duchess hadn’t pointed it out. They were assigned to loot Red Legion caches, but, well, disarming the Fallen wasn’t bad either.
He was inspecting something he assumed to be a tube of raw ether when a growl rose up. Head snapped to the source of the sound and the vial fell out of his grasp, rolling away unharmed to where a large figure started looming out of the shadows. He’d never seen an actual proper Fallen up close before, nothing lager than a vandal. And this one… This one was one was huge. This was one of the ones mothers on the Reef tell their children will come and eat them if they misbehave.
“O-oh. Hi. Is this–uh, this is yours, isn’t it?”
With all the reactions he’d gotten over his years from first-time contact with the lightbearers, this one was already one of the least violent. But that was good, Javreks was one to try and come out of situations unscathed if he could, unlike some of his kind.
The vial of ether the other had been holding falls from their hand, rolling with a gentle noise over to Javrek’s feet. He glances down at it, only briefly, before turning his gaze back to the large lightbearer. Holding that gaze, he bends down, slowly picking it up in one of his primary hands before coming to stand up again, straight.
They speak -- and though he can’t understand what they say, he feels as if they are nervous. Good. Another deep rush of breath against his mask, allowing himself to step forward. His weapon, now lowered, hoping that he can keep the fear on his side to end this situation without having to use much else.
« Lightbearer. » He growls in his own tongue, unsure if the creature’s floating familiar can translate, or if his tone is the only thing on his side. « It would be in your best interest to leave before I grow angrier than you’ve already made me. »
When I first started writing about eliksni, we didn’t know a whole lot about them so I wrote them as a species that fully carried children and had live birth, but I think I’m going to tweak that to include an egg phase since it’s Probably Canon they actually hatch from eggs (from Variks referring to children as “hatchlings” in some dialogue)
STRANGER IN THE SNOW
War was something he was good at.
Nahariks had watched as Xyriks and the others fled the area before too many could be lost. The other baron had tried to get him to come along, but he and a small number of men had chose to stay behind, to fight this fight and try to take back what was theirs. He fought tooth and nail, watching as his friends were cut down by the ruthless forces that was tearing their House apart.
Only he managed to escape alive. Nahariks stood over the body of another baron that didn’t wear the golden colors of his House. Two of his eyes were shut and bleeding from a nasty gash from the battle. He was in a lot of pain, but none more than the pain that was caused when he stood there, looking up as he watched his home burn.
His next step was to find Xyriks, but they all had a day’s worth of travel on him and he doubted they’d stop and wait for him. They might all think he was dead, and rightfully so. He was the youngest Baron in the House of Kings, but not quite the strongest. But maybe also the most foolhardy and stubborn.
He walked for days, or was it a whole week? He lost track of time after the fourth day. Heavy snow fell almost every night, and without getting his wounds treated, he was getting weaker and weaker. He wasn’t equipped to be in the cold for this long, and by the end of the sixth day, Nahariks ended up collapsing into a bank of snow, vaguely aware that he was leaving behind a trail of blood from a wound that stubbornly refused to close.
He wasn’t sure how long he was unconscious, but he came up to the sound of a new voice, telling him to wake up. The baron sucked in a breath, but it left in a harsh snarl as one of his primary hands snapped up, grabbing the spear that poked at him with frightening speed. His mind still thought he was in danger, and there was a snap as his grip threatened to break the spear. However before he could, he yanked on it, rolling painfully and catching the wretch under his other primary hand before shoving him into the snow with a hand over his neck.
Another aggressive snarl left him, more blood dripping from his face. His body shook from pain and fatigue, but he still held fast, unaware that he couldn’t feel almost half of his left leg by now as he glared down at the stranger. Even though most of his vision was blurry, he growled, fighting to keep himself awake now that he knew he wasn’t alone, and his first thought was that the ones that destroyed his home had finally caught up to him.
“You won’t… take me… alive..!”
Part of him hadn’t even been expecting a response from his poking, so it was a shock for him not only when the large eliksni came to life -- but quickly. When his spear was grabbed, the wretch let out a shrill, panicked cry. He tried to pull back against the larger male’s grip, a mistake, because suddenly he was yanked forward and on the ground.
A hand was pinning his neck, his entire body twisting and thrashing out of fear. But the other eliksni was much stronger that poor Xanphiks and it didn’t take long for him to realize he wasn’t going to escape. Collapsing and letting his weight fully fall into the snow, he brought his hands up to grab at the other’s hand desperately.
“P-please.” He hissed from sharp teeth. “S-sir, I’m not going to hurt you!” The words were stuttered and pained and it was hard to speak them with the hand threatening to crush his throat completely.
▓ c:
▓ = caught stealing their belongings
The lightbearer was stealing their supplies!
Though he did have the urge to rush forward as soon as he realized, Javreks watched from the shadows for a long few seconds as the strange light creature rummaged through the hidden caches of supplies. They were rather large for one of their kind, not that size mattered when it came to the light-powered beasts. But more importantly, they seemed to be alone.
Unfortunately -- so was Javreks, the rest of his squad scouting elsewhere. The large eliksni breathed a big breath in and out, a quiet rush of air from afar. Yes, this beast was big for their kind, but the Baron was bigger. Perhaps he could get lucky and have intimidation on his side. Or, perhaps, he could wound the lightbearer and get them to flee, if it came to a battle.
Either way, he had to try to recover the supplies before they could all be stolen. Dusk still wasn’t as strong as they dreamed for it to be, and every cache could mean someone’s life. Standing up straight and creeping forward, the Baron finally crawled from the shadows, launcher in his primary hands held tightly. A low growl rumbled from his throat, alerting the other of his presence as he stepped into the light.
