Portside Apartments, Dundalk, MD
Rent based on income: Those who earn 40% of median income pay $575 per month for a one bedroom apartment.
The Shelter Group has several apartment and townhome communities for low income seniors, families and the disabled in the Baltimore area. They accept Section 8 vouchers but not the RAP Program. Rents start @ $700 for a one bedroom apartment.
Project PLASE fills all open beds from our waiting list as they become available. To get on the waiting list, call Onzea at 410-837-1400, Ext. 221.
Some beds at Project PLASE are reserved for people who meet certain criteria such as mental illness or HIV infection. Persons seeking housing may be asked if they meet these criteria. If no space is available at this time, the name will be placed on our waiting list.
Transitional Housing
Transitional housing provides adult men and women with a safe place to achieve stability and address the underlying problems contributing to their homelessness before moving on to permanent housing.
Permanent Housing
Permanent housing possibilities include Project PLASE's Shelter Plus Care Program and the Project PLASE based Single Room Occupancy Program.

Marian House’s continuum of service includes three levels.
The first level, Marian House I, is a transitional housing and rehabilitation program that provides support services such as initial housing, meal provision, transportation, rehabilitation counseling, life skills training, job readiness and employment assistance, pre-GED education, financial guidance, a savings program, support in achieving family reunification, and assistance in finding and access to affordable permanent housing.
The second program level, Marian House II, continues the client services and goals of with a more independent living environment.

A printable application for the RAP Program. The maximum housing subsidy for a household of 1 or 2 people is $340 per month. Apply as soon as possible because there is a waiting list, though homeless individuals are supposed to have priority.

Virginia Towers

Housing for low-income seniors and disabled people in Towson, MD. Rent is 30% of gross monthly income. Pets are allowed for a $300 fee; $100 on move-in, and $10 a month until the fee is paid.
Unfortunately, Virginia Towers has an 18 month waiting list.

The Tabco Towers in Towson, MD offer exceptional value and comfort to seniors and disabled residents in the Baltimore area. Tabco Towers apartments include all utilities and feature galley style kitchens, wall-to-wall carpeting, and large windows with beautiful views of downtown Towson.
Built in 2000, Walker Co-op is a 4-story, 88 unit community for independent senior citizens who are 62 years or older. It is nationally recognized as “A Community of Quality” by the National Affordable Housing Management Association.
