Atla nation, come get y'all's juice
Zuko painted his skin red each night with the even strokes of a prayer.
This was no Blue Spirit of the Deep Waters. This was Zuko and his rage. Zuko and his shame. Zuko and the cloak he donned in honor of the legend of a woman who covered her scars in paint and turned her grief into light.
Drenched in red and covered in shadows, the Painted Ghost bends lightning and flame in search of retribution.
This is Zuko's character design in Imperfect Canvass, a role reversal AU.
I rewatched ATLA for the billionth time and finally drew some of the characters. This has been my favorite show since I was a child but I never drew anything for it
to tell a story in the form of flowers, what would i say?

"What is to come"
(image id is both in the alt text and below the read more- I put it under one because it's incredibly long)
And so there we have it, the 200+ followers artpiece that I have been working on for several days, if I had to guess I'd say it took 25 or so hours over eleven days. Honestly it's so surreal to me that I'm here with over 200 followers (260 as of typing this- yes, I procrastinated on this), especially when I only hit 100 followers in February. It's genuinely really nice to know that people are actually interested in my art (before anyone brings up spam bots- I know there are a few of them amongst my followers but I've checked most of them and I am 100% confident that over 200 of them are real). I don't really have much else to say really- I'm just grateful to have the support. Thanks y'all :).

Introvert Moment #123
As an introvert I am scared of talking to people flirtatiously. As a bisexual, this fear is rated E for everyone. Maybe I should just live alone in a bungalow with like 4 elderly rescue dogs
Cultural Practices: Pai Sho - The Game
I'm honestly a little embarrassed it took me this long to get to this topic! As always, credit goes to @atla-lore-archive for saving all the neat ATLA tidbits and concept art from the old Nick website.
Pai Sho (ēęø), meaning "several game pieces" in Chinese, takes inspiration from a few different table games:
Its most obvious influence is the German game Sternhalma, known in the English-speaking world as Chinese Checkers. Like Chinese Checkers, the game is played on a circular board.
The lines on the board and the circular tiles are reminiscent of XiĆ ngāqĆ (č±”ę£), known in the English-speaking world as Chinese Chess. The pieces often being positioned on the intersection of lines is also very similar to Chinese Chess.
The game's four player limit and visually creative tiles are reminiscent of Mahjong (éŗ»å°), China's most famous tile game. In particular, the iconic white lotus tile appears to draw heavily from the classic Mahjong one-dot tile.
Finally, the name Pai Sho is likely inspired by Pai Gow (ēä¹), meaning "nine game pieces" in Cantonese--- which is both a domino game and a style of poker.
Just like ATLA's animals, it seems that Pai Sho is a fusion of different real life sources. In the next posts, I'll be covering the symbolism and cultural significance behind each Pai Sho tile shown in ATLA.
Like what Iām doing? Tips always appreciated, never expected. ^_^
