I think a lot of times I see people talk about this stuff in relation to AI. It's right to talk about it, but I hate when people act like AI is the only tech that has these problems. What you see with AI now is a reflection of the broader tech and internet industry that has grown for the past 20-30 years.

Conclusions from this which are not very productive: the Internet overall is bad and we should destroy it.

Conclusions that are perhaps more productive: Currently the Internet, which many lives depend on, takes up a lot of resources, has a climate impact, and runs on exploited labor. We need to find out how we can avoid this (it’s certainly possible), and work together to achieve this.

i want you guys to think for a moment that "israel" has a 20% palestinian population and that these israelis probably have interacted with them (alot of pharmacists, taxi drivers, doctors, in "israel" and so on are palestinian) and yet when they go to different countries and see pro palestinian insignia and flags they have a meltdown and that should make you think "hmmm the only way they react this violently to palestinian symbols is if they dont really see it in their daily lives" almost as if that 20% Palestinian with israeli citizenship demographic have to hide that heritage to avoid attacks from israelis which is actually, if you talked to palestinians with israeli citizenship, how they live they know the very real threat of israelis as perceiving them as too "arab" or too Palestinian could land them in prison or like in 2021 surrounded by a lynch mob

btw "israelis are terrifying" includes the arab israelis lmfaoaoao not just the jewish ones. because arab israelis, contrary to whatever made up belief you have, actually do contribute significantly to the israeli government, military, schools, healthcare system, etc. and there are plenty of non-jewish minorities who actually do fully support israel.

like you can put israel in quotes all you want, but at the end of the day, it's israel that's a) real, and b) educating and employing your family. meanwhile approx. 0% of jews are educated and/or employed by palestine.
