I agree that racism is not a small issue but why would racebending yourself be an issue? like; there are people which used to imagine themselves as ponies or like, mermaids??? it could technically be a different thing (breed bending they say it is??) but whats wrong with wanting to be different race??

I may not get what a black person gets, but racebending myself (or making my online persona black as an example) can not only help me symphatize and emphatize with them better, but can also make it easier for some people to accept them! cause in a way, you are putting yourself in their shoes (although not literally, only appreance wise) making you realize some issues in our racist society easier!

Making your self insert a pony or mermaid is absolutely not the same thing as making your self insert a completely different race than you actually are. There is a huge difference between making your insert a magical creature to match a fantastical setting and making your insert in a real world equivalent setting a completely different skin color than you actually are

Your self insert is supposed to be yourself, so why are you changing a key part of yourself like that? And let's be honest here, most people who racebend their self inserts aren't doing it because they want to understand and empathize with another group, they do it because they want to cherry pick aesthetics and use it for themselves

Making your self insert a different race doesn't help you empathize or sympathize with actual real world issues real people are going through because your self insert is fictional. If you need to racebend to sympathize or empathize or whatever with a different race and the issues they face, that might be a sign you should look at yourself and figure out why you only care more if you insert yourself into those situations you'll actually never have to deal with

Interesting perspective. I've never thought about this. Personally I wouldn't mind anyone creating self inserts based on my nationality but it's nice to hear other people's opinions. I'll keep it in mind.

Theres nothing wrong with atypical/mild/or lack of emotional expression.

Blunted or flat affect is a common symptom of schizophrenia and other mental disorders. This doesnt mean we dont have emotions just that we dont show them the same way as others do.

My whole life I have been told I have a "sad face", that I always seem bored, that I'm not greatful, that I'm never happy, that I'm always disgusted by other people, that I have "resting bitch face", that I act like Im better than everyone else, that I purposely act this way to seem mysterious and edgy, that I act this way to "seem like im taking the high road" and piss people off if their already mad at me, that Im lyring if I say something and my expression isnt showing how I feel.

I never really caught on to the pattern until recently my brother gave me a ride and I thanked him and he said "you should act more appreciative" and I kept telling him I was but didnt know what else he wanted. Later that day I did some research and learned about flat affect, the next day I talked to my brother (thinking he'd understand since he is bipolar) and explained how I do have feelings I just dont naturally express them due to my schizophrenia and he told me to "suck it up", "fake it" and that I'm "in the real world and have to accomidate to not make people upset".

I understamd it might be hard for people to understand me, but you can ask me to eloborate or rephrase. You can belive me when I say things in a "dull" voice. It honestly feels very unnatural for me to show large expressions, and it sorta feels like I'm lying. Despite all I've heard I really don't think I'm doing anything wrong. I think its ableist to blame and shame us for things we cant control. I still have a personality, I still have feelings, I still have a soul. How my face or voice changes or doesnt change when I speak doesnt change that.

If you interact with someone who has a monotone or expressionless face please dont assume they are bored or rude.

If you have a monotone or expressionless face know that you arent doing anything wrong, and you are deserving of love. And there are many other ways to express yourself besides changing pitch and moving face muscles.
