A/N: This started as a joke on discord and now, apparently, it’s a one-shot. I hope you all enjoy learning Charlie Weasley’s deepest, darkest secret. 

Charlie couldn’t sleep. It was always the same his first night back in The Burrow. The house was loud and, seemingly impossibly, more cramped than usual. Mum and Dad were on the sofa, having given up their room to the Delacours. Hagrid had been forced to sleep in a tent in the neighbour’s field and in a strange way, Charlie thought he might have felt more at home if he’d joined him. 

The Burrow was full of noise but it was all the wrong ones. The wind that whipped through the trees which lined the reserve in Romania was missing as was the distant rumble and roar of the dragons. Instead, he could hear Bill’s soft snores beside him and a suspicious pattern of banging coming from the twin’s room on the floor above. 

It was no use. The clock had rolled all the way past midnight and Charlie was no closer to sleep than he had been two hours ago. Knowing that he was risking his life if his mother caught him, Charlie sighed heavily and rolled out of bed.

“I think our table was nicer last year, hm?” Fleur whispers ( not quite quiet enough to avoid a sharp glare from the woman sitting at the table opposite ). She leans towards her husband, craning her neck in an attempt to get a better view of their speaker ( though, truthfully, while she’d tried, she’d stopped listening to this particular ministry official’s speech a few minutes ago, having lost track about what exactly it was they were presenting almost as soon as they’d begun ), dropping her voice by a fraction of an octave, “I also don’t remember having to sit through as many of these. Why don’t they just put all this information in a brochure? At least that would be useful as kindling for our fireplace.” She chuckles, amusing herself thoroughly.

The story of Bill's earring

Okay so @official-weasley and I got thinking about Charlie again (as you do) and thought we need a side quest specifically with him and Tollin had the idea that Charlie got Bill his fang earring. And I thought that would also fit perfectly into the dragon side quest where Bill takes MC and Co to the dragon sanctuary and Charlie finds a dragon fang in that cave and decides to gift it to Bill. Impossible thought at first ik but hear me out.

I was thinking that while Bill really wanted to get his ear pierced he was too afraid of Molly and kept telling Charlie that he hasn't had time yet, or he wants it to be perfect and never saw an earring that he likes or that he doesn't know what exactly he wants anyways so Charlie got fed up and made him one that he knew Bill would love, especially since Charlie made it so he would finally run out of excuses and get it pierced.

So Charlie got his beloved dragon fang, asked one of his friends for an old earring he could take apart and use the base of and got some gold wire. Then our crafty dragon boy (because yes of course he is good at crafts) used the wire to connect the fang to the earring, attached it to a card and with one last look, half proud and happy, half sad because he's giving away a real dragon fang, wrote a short message and put it in a letter he immediately sent to Bill.

Bill of course loved the earring and since Charlie not only made it himself but also gave him something so special as a dragons fang (given how much Charlie loves it himself) he immediately got up and went to the next piercing studio. Because no matter how afraid he is of his mother's reaction he could never let his little brother down after he made him such a meaningful present. He got his ear pierced, put the earring in and took a Polaroid picture he sent back to Charlie, telling him how much he loves the earring and how much it means to him, and thanking him for that push because he really needed it.

I think that while Bill was daring and brave he still feared Molly more than Charlie because of the respect as a firstborn. And I think this story for the earring is perfect because Charlie stood up to Molly more and wanted Bill to do the same and wanted him to be himself. And as much many people knew that he wanted one only Charlie knew how much he really wished he was brave enough and I think that when he sent him that earring was when Bill loosened up a bit and that Charlie was the reason Bill let his hair grow out so much and embraced his coolness!

Okay but Fleur getting scarred by Fenrir instead of Bill?

Molly still pulling the guess the weddings cancelled and Bill Weasely going off because how dare you, how dare you think for one second that I wouldn't want to marry her. What because shes scarred? How vain do you think I am?

Bill Weasely showing everyone just how awfully they've treated Fleur, putting his foot down that I won't hear this slander anymore. She is more than her looks, she's talanted and witty and I love how she lights up my whole world.

And Fleur? She knows utterly and truly that Bill's love for her was never skin deep. He wasn't simply another boy tugging at her hair thinking she was only a pretty face.

Bill holding her hand, and saying witb conviction that why would he not marry her? These scars, they do not erase who she is. They just show the world my wife is brave.
