pairing :: itoshi rin x f!reader
synopsis :: hiori y/n is devastated after the news of the girls soccer team being cut from the sport program and unable to join the boys team. to rub more salt on the wound, she just broke off with her long-time boyfriend. devising a plan, she disguises herself as her twin brother to take his place at blue lock academy, an all-male prep school.
what she doesn't expect is falling for the star player of the academy.
miko’s mouth gapes open in shock, taking in your appearance. “this is so freaky. you and your brother look scarily alike! it's like if i only saw the back of both your heads, i wouldn't be able to tell you guys apart.”
“don’t catch feelings for me now.” you tease.
she rolls her eyes playfully, shoving you. “gross! even if you are twins, you’re still your each person! plus, i know way too much about you to like you that way.”
miko shakes her head ushering you back to the bathroom. “okay get out of that get up and let’s go! my friends are waiting!"
“wait. what am i supposed to wear?”
she sighs. “give me one second.”
you watch as she browses through her closet. miko hums before grabbing a baby pink top and a matching skirt. “perfect! try this on!”
you blink staring at the garments in hand. “it's very uhm, pink.”
you get shoved back into the bathroom with an ‘oof.’
“wow, it’s nice wearing cute clothes for a change!” you twirl around in your new fit.
miko claps. “you pull it off really well! i gotta give your closet a makeover.”
“what’s wrong with my closet?”
“y/n. one half of your closet is sweats and the other half is soccer and athletic wear.”
your attention focuses on the arcade upcoming on your right. the sounds of buttons clicking and joysticks moving fill your ears as the vibrant-neon lights enter your vision. you squint, fazed by the sudden change. scanning the arcade, your eyes land on a familiar mop of hair.
“hey isn’t that?” you squint your eyes for confirmation.
you jump onto the familiar white-haired man’s shoulders. “boo!”
nagi flinches as a loud ‘you lost’ emits from the speaker, he turns to you with a frown etched onto his face. “huh, who are you?”
confused, he tilts his head. “no, doesn’t ring a bell.”
“oh. you look different.”
“you don’t look too bad out of that ugly wig.” he remarks.
you huff placing your hands on your hips. “what was that about my hair?” you sigh looking around the arcade. “why aren’t you with the rest of the guys?”
“wanted to catch up on gaming.” he muses, inserting another token into the machine.
miko sat out after getting destroyed in a 1v1 against nagi. she sulked, excusing herself to grab a drink from a nearby vending machine.
“woah, you’re actually pretty good.” nagi muses, turning to face you. “you might even be better than your brother.”
“what can i say! i guess the twin genes run strong!”
suddenly, a familiar voice calls out. “there you are nagi!”
once more, nagi gets startled, losing his game. annoyed, he brushes bachira’s hands off his shoulders.
“c’mon can’t i catch a break.” he grumbles in defeat.
the two of you turn around to be met with well everyone! otoya’s eyes widen after getting a good look at your face. “woah, who’s this cutie?”
bachira squints staring at you. “you look super familiar.”
you make eye contact with karasu as he opens his mouth to speak but gets cut off.
“she’s hiori’s sister.” you facepalm at this. you didn't exactly plan to bump into your teammates on your one free day off. you sigh preparing yourself.
isagi turns to face you. “he said he’s unavailable today, you happen to know where he is?”
“nope!” you reply, a bit too fast. “he’s probably at a pc cafe or something. you know him, a huge gamer.”
“the most i've seen him play is brawl stars on his phone.” reo speaks up.
“i should try ringing him.” chigiri says pulling out his phone. your eyes widen in fear at his action. if chigiri pressed the call button, your cover surely would've been blown.
they all turn to look at you in confusion.
you clear your throat. “don’t bother, i already tried. it rang like 20 times.”
a chorus of ‘oh’s come from the group.
“oh hey! did i miss something?” miko blinks looking at the scene.
you mouth, ‘i’ll explain' to her as she nods.
“wanna join us? we were about to do karaoke?”
“sure, why not!” you look to miko for confirmation and she nods, grabbing her phone cancelling plans with her friends.
you look at rin, realizing he was staring at you. turning your head away to avoid contact out of embarrassment, it was weird facing rin without your disguise on.
“well come on! let's go!” bachira tugs you towards him, as you yelp in the process.
