The belly already crested and full that it rounds out the stomach nice and taut

Maybe the halfling even sitting upon the swell as they help feed/rub their preds face while they're eating

And then the gut groans; quivering below

"You already spent so much time making it 'you' shaped, let's just add the final touch?"

Or

"Glad we're almost done with the main course cause I'm ready for dessert"

And then the pred pre-shows the awaited space with a nice long belch or slather a good layer of saliva as they sample their prey

I love the irony of my love for vore scenarios

If a pred wants to keep their companion safe and close as physically possible to their body, they have the curse of churning down anything that makes it down to the pit of their stomach

On the other hand, if they wish to make every loser and lesser being another inch of muscle/fat to their own body, they physically can't make enough acid in their overwhelmed stomach to digest anything that isn't moving
