HARRY POTTER ALPHABET → f ↳ food
"Harry’s mouth fell open. The dishes in front of him were now piled with food. He had never seen so many things he liked to eat on one table: roast beef, roast chicken, pork chops and lamb chops, sausages, bacon and steak, boiled potatoes, roast potatoes, fries, Yorkshire pudding, peas, carrots, gravy, ketchup, and, for some strange reason, peppermint humbugs."
I'm having the same exact problem as the last anon, just so they know. I'm just waiting it out~
Patience, my darlings.

I don't know if I'm getting this message because the server move isn't complete yet but every time I try to access the site this comes up: This Site Has Been Moved to a New Server. It may be possible to restore access to this site by following these instructions for clearing your dns cache. I followed the instructions and cleared the cache, but it still won't let me access the site, and keeps coming up with this same message. Is it down for everyone else? x
All members should have received a message from one of our lovely Global Moderators, Aubrey Rousseau, about this matter! The site is up right now, but as the server issue is due not to HSnet's internal servers but due to the servers of the people who host the site, there are still hiccups.Â
You're all advised to write or keep copies of the posts you're composing in a word document, just in case the site goes down for a moment while you're posting!
Server Downtime Update
Just to keep you all updated, it appears that our web host has begun to switch our site over to the new server. It appears that it may take up to an hour for the transfer to complete, so please be patient during this time. It also appears that a constant refreshing of site pages may cause the process to take longer, I know we are all impatient to get back to posting (Kath and Emma have Quid posts they need to get in!), but just letting our web host do their job is the best thing you can do. If you find that you aren't able to connect to the site after about an hour or two from now, you may have to reset you DNS settings. Instructions can be found here: http://www.pctools.com/kb/article/protection-software-resetting-your-dns-settings-519.html
Server Move!
I've received an email from our webhost, saying that our server will be switched this weekend, July 12 & 13. I don't know whether or not this will result in more downtime, but it should resolve the issues we've been having once the move is complete. In the meantime, please continue to backup or copy your posts before you hit submit, just in case.
Thanks for your patience, guys!
Are we down again?? x
We were earlier, I believe, but no longer! Aren't our admins wondrous? xo
HS.net is back up!
Thanks to two of our lovely members and former admins, Nathaniel Ross and Viola Vane, our site now loads properly again, and chat has been re-enabled!
Now that we're back, please join us in the current Wizengamot trial! If you don't have a Head of Family registered for a Wizengamot seat, but would like to, go ahead and sign up here. If you don't have a Wizengamot-eligible character, the general public can participate in the trial here.
Update on Downtime
Just an update on the downtime: our web host has been in contact with the cloud server, and they've isolated whatever the issue is. They're currently working on shifting the load between their various servers, and say that we should continue to see improvements tonight and into tomorrow.
The Elsewhere board (http://www.hogwarts-school.net/elsewhere) is loading and working fine, if a little slow. PM also seems to be functioning on that board, so if you have any threads you want to work on, I'd suggest starting there! Just be sure to back up anything you attempt to post in case slow load time eats your words.
Also, please continue to check for updates here and on the tumblr, and thanks so much for your continued patience, guys. Our members are the best!
Unexpected Downtime
Just as a heads up, HS.net is experiencing some unscheduled downtime, as I'm sure many of you have noticed. We ARE working diligently with our webhost to resolve the issue. There is apparently some sort of problem with our cloud server, and we're all working hard to get things running again as quickly as possible. Please bear with us! We really appreciate your patience. In the meantime, why don't you check out The Mother of All Character Questionnaires? It's huge and thorough, and it could be fun to fill out a section or even the whole thing (you know, if you have five hours to kill) for your new character, your favorite character, or that character you haven't applied yet! If you do, post your responses in the comments or link us to the blog post where you've answered them - we'd love to see!
The site's been down/loading very slowly for me since yesterday, and I just wondered whether this was a problem for other people or whether it's my computer?
It's a problem for everyone. We're trying to get it resolved as quickly as possible.

Hogwarts Psychoanalysis by House and Typology : #001 GryffindorÂ
If you do not know what typology is, or you do not know your own typology, please go here before continuing on below.
ENFP
These people are often very strongly opinonated, as most Gryffindors are, and they tend to make their judgments based not upon what they see, but what they feel. First impressions are everything for them, and within these moments they decide whether or not they trust you. Since they are not as stubboringly judging as ENFJs would be, they will not immediately cast you out if they have a bad feeling about you, in fact they will buzz around you trying to see why they feel that way, and whether or not they can change it. They are incredibly emotional, and more often than not they wear their hearts on their sleeves, and they feel more empathy toward how others feel than themselves. This is why they act the way they act, if they do not try to see some kind of good in everyone, it hurts them as an individual, more than it hurts the other person.
INFP
Like ENFP’s, these Gryffindors also rely highly on their intuition at first glance. The majour difference between them is that INFP’s can be much more drawn within themselves, and therefore not as empathetic toward the feelings of others. This means they can make their judgments, and they will try and see the good in others, but very often it is not an extreme mission to them. They will try their best to see the light in you, but if they can’t do it, then they will carry on with their lives and go onto whatever other ideas they have. These are the more inwardly adventurous Gryffindors, meaning rather than running out to do things, they would rather have individual hobbies or jobs they work toward, and in this they enjoy themselves greatly.
ENFJ
This is one of the most common types for Gryffindors, as it enhances most of their characteristics. These people are strongly emotional and believe themselves to be involved in everything personally. They are friendly, and when they make their true friendships they remain loyal and true in them, and have mentally given themselves an unbreakable vow to stay true to the people they care about. They expect others to this is as well, so when they have someone betray them, they are quite taken aback, and their emotions can jumble and cloud their judgment, a very bad thing for them, as their judgment is what can carry them along so smoothly in their life. Harry Potter himself is most likely an ENFJ.
INFJ
Out of all possibly types, INFJ is probably the one that Hermione Granger would probably fit best in. These people are brilliant planners, and for every plan they have that fails (which is incredibly rare), they have five more behind it. They are great observers, and can often see a lot of things that others may miss, especially extraverted Gryffindors that may be looking too much into the social aspects ofa situation. INFJ Gryffindors are much better at holding their emotions back when it is needed, however they are strongly feeling. They will often overlook what they feel to help others until they are alone, and then they will give themselves time to consider their own situation, and let their emotions run.
ESTJ
These individuals are hyperaware of the people around them, and are also very socially-oriented. They are big picture thinkers, trying to figure out how their actions or the actions of others can affect everyone as a community, rather than it would affect them. They will always say what is on their mind, rather you like it or not, and this can make them come off as blunt and rude. This is not their intention, they just want for every individual to realize they are not the only person in the world, and learn to think about others before they act. ESTJ Gryffindors can just seem a bit hypocritical at times, because they themselves do not acknowledge the feelings of others before expressing their opinion.
ISTJ
Similar to ESTJs in the way they tend to look at thinks in the form of the big picture, ISTJs have a tendency to walk blindly into a situation. This is because, despite their thinking traits, they have selective thinking. They focus on whatever their judgment and senses tell them they need to pay attention to, and they work with that within their thought process to figure out what course of action they should take. This can lead them to be impulsive, even though they believe they have been perfectly thorough in their examination. An example of a Gryffindor ISTJ would most likely be Seamus Finnigan.
ESFJ
This type is most likely the one in which most of the Weasleys would fall, most notably, Ron. ESFJ Gryffindors are deadly loyal people, and they pick their friends easily and without hesitation. Their quick judgment and sensibility allow them to decide almost immediately who they like, and in this way they are good at deciding who they will want to stick with throughout life. They often put other people before themselves, most especially their friends, and are quick to defend anyone who the believe deserves it. Of course, even with their extreme need to be there for others, in lies a bit of selfishness, and at times if they help without believing they get anything in return, their high emotional scale can backfire, and their temper can fly off.
ISFJ
ESFJ and ISFJ Gryffindors are almost identical in their behaviours, except for one thing. ISFJs are immediately more hesistant in getting close to others, because they are unsure of what the results could be. They will immediately judge and analyze others to see if they are trustworthy, because the worst thing imaginable for them is to be betrayed by someone they thought cared about them. They are like this in every aspect of their lives, and will usually put their feet in to test the water before jumping in. An ESFJ that has been hurt one too many times can quickly mold themselves into an ISFJ, to make sure they don’t get hurt again.
ENTP
These individual are sharp, and large seekers of fun. Â They are always trying to look for the brighter side of life, and their thinking ability as well as their outstanding perception can allow them to find it in almost anything. They are very friendly, but can be a bit naive as they are not often trying to look into the minds of others. These people are more focused on the rest of the world, what adventure they can find and where, and this is where intuition comes in, not in a human sense but in a sense of how they can make the most of life. They are often very happy people, as they do not let the opinions of others get in the way. They are only truly upset when they have to stop their ongoing motion.
INTP
These people are a bit more mellow than your average Lion, as they tend to prefer their own company to the company of others. They can be kind to people who try to talk to them, sure, but really they would much rather you leave them alone. They are adventurous not outwardly but intellctually, wanting to challenge their mind at a constant rate. So they are often found doing something they find stimulating, rather it be reading, writing, taking extra classes, anything they find can broaden their horizions and make them a more well developed individual. This is their drive, and what makes them happy. They are much less emotional than other Gryffindors, so long as you leave them be to work with their own flow.
ENTJ
Gryffindors with this type live their life as if it is a mission. They have everything single aspect of it planned out, every goal they have, every action they must take to get to that goal, and what comes after it. They are so strongly ambitious they they are highly close to being Slytherins, but what keeps them as a Gryffindor is their extreme need for justice in any situation. They have a stong sense of right and wrong, and if they believe in something they stick to their guns. ENTJ Gryffindors would make fantastic attorneys, if they ever chose to go into the field of law.
INTJ
Similar to INTPs in the way that they are not as emotionally attached as your average Gryffindor, INTJs are very business-like in their behaviours. They still have aspects of loyalty, but rather than having this to the people around them, they are loyal to themselves. They know what they want, and they will stick to that. They have no problem telling you that you are in their way, or that you are wrong, and they can often come off as blunt. They could care less if you believe them to be rude, because they have the nerve to push through it, and in the end they are strong, and that is what is important to them.
ESTP
ESTP Gryffindors are not individually emotional, but instead are large into knowing or sensing what others are thinking. In Hogwarts, they would be excellent at Divination, as they almost have a sixth sense in knowing what others are thinking, due to their emotional range combining with ESP, and addition of the thinking traits. They do not keep what they percieve about others to themselves, instead they use it to help. ESTP Gryffindors would make brilliant psychiatrists, as they can catch on quickly and have the ability to talk through with another person what is wrong, and what can help.
ISTP
These Gryffindors are hyperaware of their own self, and are completely comfortable in this aspect. They know what is going on within them, or at least they believe they do, and this gives them much self-assurance and confidence. The addition of a large amount of nerve causes them to go for whatever it is they desire, and do not take their introversion as a sign that they are shy, as they certainly or not. The reason they are more strongly expressed as introverts rather than extraverts is because of how self-aware they are, and that they often to not care so much about how others percieve them due to this.
ESFP
The most emotional of any Gryffindor, these people are incredibly sensitive. They are sweet and not as hard-headed or outspoken as most Lions, but they are incredibly close to anyone they care about. They have an overabundance of love, and if someone they consider a friend or family is hurt in anyway, they take part of the pain for them, and feel it just as much. They care for everything, and are willing to go out of their way to help anyone they believe needs it. Their pureness is their curse, as it can put them in situations that they would rather not be in, as the emotions of it take toll on them hard.
ISFP
A good nickname for these could be “energy absorbers” because they tend to take in whatever is around them. The combination of SFP in them allows them to understand the deeper aspects of everything, not just other people, and due to their introversion rather than express this as their own emotions, they store it up for further reference, when they may need it. This makes them great observers with a phenomenal memory, and this helps them in many parts of life.
Hogwarts Psychoanalysis by House and Typology : #002 Hufflepuff
If you do not know what typology is, or you do not know your own typology, please go here before continuing on below.
ENFP
These folks are some of the more social you will meet of Hufflepuffs, as well as some of the kindest. They are nice to just about everyone, and will rarely snap or say something rude without copious amounts of provoking first. Even then these Badgers are very spiritual, and great believers in karma. They try to be cordial even to those who are horrible to them, because they believe they will have good fortune in return. They are also very emotional, but rarely show it, instead only showing the brighter sides of their personality. They would be most likely to show only their deeper aspects around their closest friends, which they can make many of.
INFP
This is a common type for a Hufflepuff, because it is the type that is known as the Healer, and Hufflepuffs as well, are somewhat natural healers. These people are a bit more shy and reserved, but with large amounts of empathy. They want to help others the best they can, and usually they are best at opening up out of their shell through this, their true colours showing when a person is in need. They have a good sense of the emotions of others, detecting what a person truly means even when it is not said aloud. They are good at keeping secrets, and tend to feel their emotions through others rather than through themselves.Â
ENFJ
These people are expressive and full of life, every interest and opinion they have being fully expressed through them. Despite this they are not overbearing, but rather they have a sort of comfortable aura around them that pulls others in, making you want  them to teach you what they know. They are social creatures, too, and are happy to do his. ENFJ is the Teacher, and this shines thoroughly through these Hufflepuffs. They want to share everything they know with the world, and allow others to see what beauty they see.Â
INFJ
INFJ Hufflepuffs are very similar to ENFJ Hufflepuffs in their ideas, but they are a bit less strongly expressed. Instead they are more drawn into themselves, and what they know is a part of them. They actually have very many Ravenclaw aspects to them as well, but what makes them Hufflepuffs is how patiently they work out each of their goals, and how their hardworking traits cause them to succeed at everything to the best of their ability. They generally have only a few close friends, because they like to be friends with those they feel enlighten them further, and they have a strong judging criteria for this.Â
ESTJ
ESTJ Hufflepuffs and INFP Hufflepuffs, despite their completely opposite types, have some similarities. They are both very people oriented, and willing to help out in anyway they can. The main difference here is the tactics they use. ESTJs are much more blunt in their ways, and more traditional. They think before they act, and they look into how a person would react before they help them. If they think they will react badly, they are hesitant to help, because conflict is to them a dirty word. They just want to be social, happy, and enjoy their life.
ISTJ
The main talent of these Hufflepuffs is their attention to detail. They are great at observation, but they also have the ability to observe and analyze at the same time, almost in a psychological manner. They do this to people around them, rarely speaking up about it but taking note of it for later. They have strong minds in every sense of the word, and are deeply logical. They can at times be extremely grounded into reality, as they just can’t get enough of trying to figure out the universe around them. Their down-to-earth personality can also make them very responsible and reliable if need be, and they thrive in this fact.
ESFJ
This is the most emotional of all types for Hufflepuff, as well as one of their common signs. They have deep individual emotions as well as strongly feeling the emotions of those who are around them. They are social creatures but they can also have deep highs and lows due to this aspect, and when they start to feel in the latter of these moods they will often find some place to be secluded and alone. They feel the need to have the company of others most of the time, though, as being completely and entirely alone is one of their worst fears.
ISFJ
Deeply into the needs of others, ISFJ Hufflepuffs are very intrinsically motivated, feeling the need to always do what is best, simply because it is the right thing to do. They are also deeply into nostalgia, and like to  make sure their decision is always the best in order to have good memories to reflect back on later in life. They do the same with relationships, judging people thoroughly before getting close to them. They are terrified of being hurt, so they want to make sure they will not have bad thoughts to look back on with friends or lovers.
ENTP
These Hufflepuffs are incredibly creative and eccentric, seeing the world in ways others usually do not. ENTP is called the Inventor, and this is very much shown within the Hufflepuff house. They are hardworkers who come up with unique projects, and are tedious in making sure everything is right in accomplishing their ideas. They are also patient and level-headed, giving them the ability to make many mistakes and keep on going. They haven’t failed, they have only found 10,000 ways that it doesn’t work. They don’t ever allow the thoughts of others get them down.Â
INTP
Hufflepuffs of this type are somewhat similar to ENTPs in the way that they have the greatest amount of patience you could find in a person. They also have very interesting ways of thinking, and their introversion allows them to show this strongly, as they are not affected by the judgments of others. Their opinions and thoughts are their own, and they love to express themselves in a way that shows people this. Though they are more expressive in their thoughts than their feelings, INTPs still can have dramatic highs and lows in their mood, and this is brought on by their own thoughts, which bothers them greatly.
ENTJ
This is a rather rare type for a Hufflepuff, but it can happen. These are the more blunt, somewhat cold of personalities, and they have the same Hufflepuff instinct to help others, but they show it in a completely different way These are the types more likely to go for guardian type pursuits, such as something in law enforcement. They are strong and dedicated but also stubborn with an almost black and white view of the world, seeing everything as either good or bad. They can block their emotions out at times, because they feel they get in the way when they are working.
INTJ
The main goal of an INTJ Hufflepuff is knowledge, and it is through this that they show their personality. They are one of the shy types and rarely choose to talk to others, but the pen is mightier than the sword, and they show their soul through this ideal. They are fantastic writers, philosophers, and thinkers. They want to share their thoughts with the world, they just don’t want their personal life to be noticed as much, so they tend to shy away from the public eye.
ESTP
If you were looking for a good radio personality or talk show host, an ESTP Hufflepuff would be your go-to guy. They are full of life and fun, and they speak their mind to a point where no thought of theirs ever hides from their lips. They are friendly to most, though their spitfire personality can cause others to be sometimes offended by what they have to say. The thought of purposely insulting someone hurts them a bit, as they would never do it, so if you tell them that they’ve hurt your feelings, they will usually apologize as much as they can, and try to make it up to you. All they want out of life is to feel it, and they want the same for others.
ISTP
Virtuosos, ISTP Hufflepuffs know how to work with what they have in their arsenal. They are compassionate above all else, and this reflects their whole life. They are very loyal friends, very committed lovers, and very hard workers. They are the type that many people would want to associate themselves with, because there is just something about the aura around them that inspires you, and makes you feel like you are a better person. They are not the type to let their emotions get the best of them, because they are too grounded into what they want and obtaining it. Stress is not something they very easily know.
ESFP
A bit of an unlikely type for a Hufflepuff, these people are somewhat overly dramatic. They have a strong outer personality, but they also have an active imagination and often make a bit of a personal fable for themselves. They tend to want their lives to be a fairytale, and see themselves as the prince or the princess, waiting for their knight in shining armor. This can bother others at times, but there is no harm meant by it. They often think that others feel this way, and when they realize they do not, they are unsure what to make of it.
ISFP
Hufflepuffs of this type are very observant, noticing all of their surroundings. People, nature, things of the unknown, they take note of all of them and try their best to figure out how they function in the big jigsaw puzzle of life. They are not the most social individuals, but they do enjoy putting themselves in public places, where they can discover new things, as this is their main drive in life.
Hogwarts Psychoanalysis by House and Typology : #003 Ravenclaw
If you do not know what typology is, or you do not know your own typology, please go here before continuing on below.
ENFP
Of all the types, Luna Lovegood would probably most suitably fit into this one. Champion Ravenclaws are flowing and colourful, living their life with such enthusiasm that it can be inspiring or sometimes strange to others. They have a very optimistic view on the world, and have many creative outlets that they wish to inspire others with. They are some of the friendliest Ravenclaws within the house.
INFP
This is a very common type among Ravenclaws, and they are some of the most intuitive and considerate within the house. They often watch others, saying nothing, but modestly offering to lend a useful hand when they are needed. They are not very social, but tend to have a few very close friends. These people they are very loyal to, and willing to do things they would not normally do if they need it.
ENFJ
Ravenclaws within this type have the need to share their intellectual talent with others around them. Others feel naturally inclined to ask them for advice, and in return they are happy to share their wisdom. They have a natural intelligence about them, and this works seamlessly with their need to lead others on the path they wish to be on. They are some of the most social of Ravenclaws, and one of the most common extraverted types within it.
INFJ
Counselor Ravenclaws are among the most considerate individuals within the house, wanting to help others to the best of their ability. They tend to be quite shy, but given a chance to be close to a person, they want to do their best to make sure that person is comfortable and pleased. If someone they feel close to is in pain, they tend to feel this as well, which provides them with such discomfort that they compulsively need to do something about it.Â
ESTJ
Those within this type are very well what one may consider a textbook Ravenclaw, as they tend to be very particular in their methods. They are extremely intelligent, and this coincides with their sharp focus on life. They are responsible for themselves, making sure to do what needs to be done and having no hesitation in the matter. They expect others to be this way as well, and may often get bothered by those who behave in a way they see as unconventional. Despite this, they are also the strongest social group within the house, and enjoy giving wisdom and insight to others.
ISTJ
One of the most common types within the house of Ravenclaw, people within this type are extremely patient and meticulous. They notice the smallest details within their materials, and this causes them to be both excellent students and employees. Dedicated and responsible, they crave things which can give them the satisfaction of doing. That is to say, if they are not being held responsible for something, they feel stagnate. Inspectors in the Ravenclaw house are not often outspoken people, instead focusing on other things, giving them quite the stoic appearance.
ESFJ
While not too average a type, Provider Ravenclaws are some of the sweetest individuals in existence. They have both a social and intellectual wisdom about them, and they use this to help others in their community. They feel it their duty to do this, because they are quite aware of their intelligence. While not boastful about it, they feel this was a gift given to them by nature, and therefore they must use it to make the lives of others more convenient.Â
ISFJ
Protector Ravenclaws are very much into the mind set of tradition, and they tend to hold many things sacred. They are deeply into history, and think things must be preserved for future generations to know of. When someone disrespects these things, they can feel personally offended, and pull away from this person quickly. They are not the most social of people, much more into the material than the social aspect of life. To some, they may appear snobby or stand-offish.
ENTP
Ravenclaws within this type are very innovative and interactive with others. They like to lend a hand in most situations, giving a fresh perspective on an old problem. They are incredibly great at doing this as well, as they have a strong creative nature about them, which can often rub off on others.Â
INTP
Architect Ravenclaws are great philosophers and theorists, thinking of the world in their own unique way and rarely letting others influence it. They try to figure out how things work on their own, and they want to solve problems that no one else has seemed to be able to. Their mission in life is to try and make the world a better place, and they do this through their bright intellect.
ENTJ
ENTJ Ravenclaws are natural strategists, who would be great at the game of Risk. They are great at mapping everything out, either literally or mentally, and deciding what their best course of action is. This intellectual skill makes them fantastic leaders, and they have the instinctive nature to fulfill this role. To some they may come off as blunt and stubborn.
INTJ
These Eagles are absolutely brilliant and master scholars at what they do. They are sharply focused on their goals to the point of obsession, and they can fall into their hobbies or work to the point they will seclude themselves from others. They have little to no need for relationships with others, since they are so dedicated. It is only if they take a moment to step away from this that they may feel a sense of loneliness.
ESTP
The true creative nature of the Ravenclaw tends to shine through this type. Creative by nature, these people are extremely innovative, seeing the world through their own very unique perceptive. Not generally affected by the opinions of others, the true freedom of the Ravenclaw flies through in these individuals, which allows them to be incredibly successful in life. They are very balanced, maintaining a good sense of self while being quite social as well.
ISTP
Ravenclaws in this type have incredibly technical minds, tending to see things as puzzles. To them, the world is one large machine, functioning through many smaller parts that need to come together perfectly. Their drive in life is to help keep these functions in tact. This means they tend to make great mechanics, mathematicians, and artists.
ESFP
Performer Ravenclaws are among some of the most successful of their type, as their creativeness plus their showmanship makes them the life of the party. They can light a room, and they are very well aware of this, so they use it to their advantage. They enjoy being seen as an entertainment, and thrive off of making others happy. The most social of Ravenclaws, they are strongly affected by their peers, because they want to be seen as likable, though they are also aware that what others think should not bother them. This causes confliction, and they can become easily frustrated.
ISFP
The artists of the world, Composer Ravenclaws are very in tune with themselves and things around them, making them very creative beings. No matter what their medium, they see a science within their artistry, taking it apart molecule by molecule in their minds and them putting it together as they see fit. They have little need for social interaction, and tend to keep to themselves, having one or two close friends.
