sure!! while a lot of the hope aspect has to do with positive emotions, which seems very out of place for eridan, it ALSO centers around strong convictions. hope players do what they think is right, even if their version of “right” doesn’t sit well with everyone else - which is very much what eridan does.

the official hiveswap site also describes hope players as often seeing the world in black and white, and that they can be narrow-minded and selfish at their worst, which also suits eridan well.

so basically eridan just suits a certain part of his aspect in terms of his personality! kind of like how, while light has a lot to do with knowledge, vriska only really embodies the luck part of it for the most part
