Yashiro and control

So i think the reason Yashiro was freaking out in chapter 21 is partly because he’s not in control. He’s masochistic but I don’t read him as submissive. In all the sex scenes as I interpret them Yashiro is in control. He’s driving the other to be harder/more aggressive etc, egging them on our winding them up. Its his choice to be there and his choice how the sex plays out as violent. But now here is Domeki, stoney faced and “impotent.” Yashiro won’t tell Domeki to do anything because he doesn’t want to force him as Domeki’s boss and he can’t seduce him bc Domeki has been pretty unresponsive to that in the past. So here he is at the mercy of someone else with no way to convince himself that he’s in control, and for someone who’s been abused that’s probably a pretty big deal. Not to mention he says wait and D doesn’t. And… well I love D but that’s pretty sketchy too given Yashiro’s past. Just my thoughts and feel free too add to them or otherwise.

Sooo beautifuly true! (I was so tired to read how yashiro was excited in chapter 21 when for me, it’s clearly freaking out and not sexual excitment >>)

I think he DID seduce him and push him to this. It’s what Yashiro does, all the time with everyone and Domeki more than anyone. What he didn’t expect was the passionate, violent response. What he didn”t predict, he can’t control.

well I love D but that’s pretty sketchy too given Yashiro’s past.

That’s very true, but we have not to forget that Domeki is also a traumatized person and I don’t think he is in his right mind when he has this “fit” of violence. He clearly mention that he wants to stop when yash asks him too and felt guilty because he was incapable to do so.

I think he has some blank moment, when his “dark side” he tried so much to repress takes control. Like when he almost kill his dad or the dirty cops, and everytime he is engage in sex with yashiro. The more he tried to restrain himself, the less he is able to.

So I don’t think we can totaly judge him responsable of this, the same as yahsiro is not totaly responsable of what happens to him when he provocs people.

It's no intrusion at all. I'm really enjoying all the discussion about this manga and love hearing all the things people take from it.

Haha, i probably didn't explain myself well re- the seduction thing because Domeki is very definitely seduced. I agree with you that maybe it's better described as D not responding to the seduction in a way that Y understands /can control.

I completely understand your points about D being damaged as well. I just think its important not too gloss over it. Domeki is a great character, i understand why he acted how he did thanks to some amazing writing by Yoneda Kou. But that doesn't mean it wasn't wrong. We can all make mistakes though and I think the beauty of this relationship is watching each of them learn about each other and themselves.

Re your points about D controlling himself. I actually read D as the submissive one in this pairing. For me, I read it as Domeki's desire being to serve Yashiro, emotionally at first and now sexually too - in as much as he is currently able. And I hope that Yashiro will be able to get that dark side under control with some hot sex. Because this is Yaoi and sex fixes everything 😂

Where is the gif of this mirroring:

Because no one can convince me that the repetition of this metaphor is coincidental. Especially if you think about how Flint was with Miranda before Thomas and could be considered to have followed her into the relationship with Thomas. And yes she could be referring to Flint giving up and following her to death but the sentence before make me think not.
