Shouto probably noticed how his s/o’s touch always seemed to linger a tad longer than normal even before they started dating. Whether it be patting a classmates back or hugging a friend. There was always that split second longer that they held that contact.
And when the two started dating he noticed that his s/o would scoot closer when it wasn’t needed. They always always made sure their shoulders touched. And there was just something about the way they knocked their knee to his. When he asked his s/o about this he makes sure to listen carefully. When his s/o fully articulates to him that their touch starved, he admits he can relate to it in a way. After that he does the best he can to accommodate his s/o.
He is shocked to hear though, that his s/o loves him just that much! It makes his heart skip a beat and butterflies manifest in his stomach. When he’s alone and he thinks about this, he smiles to himself.
Hand holding is a must, and something he really enjoys— when they’re in a situation where they can’t hold hands his s/o links their pinkies and while it doesn’t hold the same weight as hand holding, it feels like a small warmth. A cutesie type of love.
He doesn’t mind the head on the shoulder, he enjoys that as well. Makes the both of them feel like they need a nap, I mean what’s more nap inducing than the warmth of another.
Any time they need to be apart for an amount of time, Shouto makes sure to make their goodbye hugs extra long. His s/o says they need extra love to last them. He laughs at this and agrees to it.
You know there’s going to be sneaking over at night. Whether it be between homes or dorms, Shouto makes sure his s/o can get a good nights rest, on those particularly stressful days.

There it was again, the not-so-gentle squeeze on Shouto‘s hand. He looked down at his significant other with a bit of tension between his brows. Shouto always knew when _________ was having a hard time. It wasn’t hard to tell– at least for him it wasn’t. He noticed all the subtle changes in them, even when everyone else seemed too oblivious to it. It was the rapid breathing— the hastening of their pulse which he could feel in their fingertips when his hand was wrapped oh so perfectly around theirs.
_________ didn’t look back at Shouto, choosing instead to focus on the scene around them, and pull their free hand up to their chest in a defensive gesture. Ah, the crowd of an amusement park is always suffocating, especially on those hot summer weekends where you can feel the heat radiating off the asphalt. Quick as a flash, Todoroki pulled _________ to sit down on a bench under the shade of a tree. He slid his backpack off and handed them a water bottle. What a mom. When they were finished hydrating themselves Todoroki took this moment to grab their hand and start gently kneading it with his thumbs. An odd gesture, but pleasing one as well. The physical touch helped ground _________ to the moment.
”Hey it’s alright I’m right here. I’m not going to let go okay?” Shouto quietly mumbled these words to _________. They began to breathe normally, and even closed their eyes a little to calm down even more.
_________ exhaled once more before looking at Todoroki with a grateful look in their face.
”Thank you Shouto, I really needed that.” They smiled and leaned forward to place a quick smooch on his jaw. He blushed slightly at the kiss but his cheeks were already (lightly) sunburned so it was pretty well hidden. Noticing that, _________ grabbed the sunscreen out of Shouto’s Mom bag and spread the protectant on his cheeks and nose. His face scrunched up in protest. “Hush now, it’s either this or blisters!” He remained quiet and let them later the lotion on any exposed skin. As _________ was putting the sunblock back into the Mom bag, Shouto spoke up.
”Hey _________, we can sit here longer if you need it,” they only smiled in response.
”That’s alright I’m feeling better now thanks to you,” they grabbed his hand and hauled him up to his feet, “let’s go ride the big coaster now!”
“…,” Shouto could already feel the queasiness. But who can say no that that face?!

Todoroki breathed in and out once, before ringing the doorbell- He’s faced many a foes before, and yet in this instance, he’s never been more terrified. His own insecurities and doubts were starting to flood his mind- after all, this was going to be his time going to the summer festival with his significant other. This was actually going to be _________’s first festival ever. Todoroki really wanted to make this a special occasion for them. When the door opened, Todoroki could feel his heart swoon. There they were, all dressed up and just absolutely feelin’ themselves. “You’re gonna catch flies with a mouth open that wide.” ________ said coyly. With a half smile on their face, they looked up at Todoroki expectantly. A dusty pink bloomed across his cheeks and he looked away sourly. He wasn’t gawking like some weirdo! _________ just snorted and looped their arm around his. “I was just teasing!” “Well it’s not nice to tease about something like that.” This time, it was _________’s turn to pout. Once they saw that Todoroki had an endearing smile on his face, they perked right back up and the two of them started laughing together. Whatever tension Todoroki had been feeling before then, was already beginning to fade.
“I have butterflies in my stomach you know.” _________ had broken the silence in the walk to the festival grounds. Their hand found Todoroki’s and their fingers intertwined with each other. He looked at them quizzically. “I’m not exactly sure why, but I’m just so excited to see everything!” _________ was practically beaming at this point.

Coincidentally, whether it be that the author needed to hurry the story along or not, after the statement was made, the festival itself was in full view. With in all too eager start, _________ tugged on Todorokoi’s hand, egging him on to move his feet a little quicker.
“Ah— please so down!”
“No time, we gotta goooo!” He couldn’t get angry, not even agitated. How could he when _________ was just so darn cute when they were excited. He didn’t wanna spoil their fun. So he let himself get dragged until they entered the plaza.

The rest of the night was filled with sugary treats and eyes filled with amazement. The two of them took their time going from stall to stall, seeing what goods and services were to be sold, and just purely enjoying each other’s company! Much to everyone’s surprise, _________ actually ended up winning a goldfish. And to no one’s surprise, Todoroki ended up winning an armful of stuffed animals for _________. Eventually the two grew tired, and they started to head back. _________ looked at one of the plushies Todoroki carried in his arms. It’s plastic windows to the soul stared right back at them, bouncing to the rhythm of his footsteps.
They couldn’t help but laugh at the misshapen face of one of the animals. “It’s so ugly,” they mused.
“And you say that after all the work I put into winning it for you?” He cocked his head to the side and cast a glance at them with a slight smile.
“It’s not a bad thing! Haven’t you ever heard of ugly cute?” Todoroki snorted. There was a few minutes of silence.
…
“You know you’re gonna have to get a tank for that fish. And food and a filter….you should have thought about this stuff before you went and won him.” Todoroki gestured the best he could to the goldfish in ________’s hands.
“If I didn’t win, what would have been the point of playing? Besiiides, don’t worry about a thing,” _________ said, “my parents have an old tank in storage I can use.” Todoroki have a nod.
“Okay. So what are you going to name him?”
_________ thought about it for a moment. But only one. “Cthulhu.”

He doesn’t think much of it, when his s/o pulls out the alcohol- > Well what can he do? She’s an adult making adult decisions.
He only gets concerned when she seems to be taking it a bit too far. (The bottle’s gone at this point, and she’s reachin’ to grab another)
Shouto stops his s/o by grabbing her wrist.
“What are you doing?”“… .Quenching my thirst.”[SIGH] “Stay here, don’t move.”
He comes back with a glass of water. His s/o looks at it before looking back up at Shouto. > ”You’re so niiiiiiice, thank you Shoutooooooooooo.” > He’s blushin’ a lil, but only a lil. > His s/o goes in to thank him more by placing kisses all over his face, almost makes him drop the cup. > He’s blushin’ a lot more now.
“Let’s get you sitting down.” > He somehow manages to guide a slightly stumbling and ditsy gf to the couch from the kitchen, and hold the glass of water without spilling so much as a drop.
He lets his s/o finish drinking the glass before asking questions. She situates herself in his lap, hands around his neck, completely using him to stable herself.
She’s a little handsy as well. Shouto doesn’t mind. >The two of them talk it out, about why his s/o was upset enough to drink so much. >It was hard with her not being able to give real responses, but the message got across eventually.
In the end, Shouto carries her into their room and tucks her in– making sure she’s propped upright in case she gets sick in her sleep. >He climbs into bed right next to her.
Before she’s able to pass out: >”Pssst, Shouto……………………are you asleep?” >”Go to bed.”

First off- he’s livid. It’s quite obvious even with his weird ways of showing his anger. (Sharp eyes, and an unnervingly calm voice) >He detains the villain in an instant, using his ice quirk to trap them.
He’s then by his s/o side;
“Are you okay?- What am I saying, of course you’re not.”“How bad does it hurt? The paramedics will be here soon, I’ll protect you until then.” > If there’s any external bleeding, he’ll try to stop it with his hands/torn cloth. > He says this all calm like, but in his head he keeps thinking that it’s his own fault; that he should have protected you in the first place.
Of course his s/o knows that it’s not his fault. They’ll have a hard time trying to convince him of that once they’re out of the hospital.
Speaking of which, he’s with them everyday of their hospital stay. Whether they’re conscious or not, he’s by their bedside.
Flowers are a must, and so are adorable stuffed animals.
They’re there to help his s/o’s recovery, obviously.
When his s/o is well enough to leave the hospital, you can bet your ass he’s gonna dote on them and be 100% more cautious– God forbid something like that happen again.

He wouldn’t tease her too much, knowing that his s/o gets enough of that from everyone else– however if the opportunity arose where he could possibly maybe slip something up highHe might take it. Then he would watch and wait for you to come calling for him, asking to reach up on that high shelf to get down that oh so important item.“Did you put that up there?” “No-”“Shouto.”
If his s/o other asked him to lean down for a kiss, he’d do so without hesitation, unless of course he thought it too embarrassing. Like if the two of them were in front of his friends.She’ll just have to stand on her tippy-toes in that case

Although he thinks a bashful s/o is downright adorable, Shouto would always go out of his way to make sure they’re not too far out of their comfort zone.
Not comfortable ordering their own food? Never fear, Shouto is here! However he won’t want to baby his s/o, so unless they asked like, “Hey can you order this for me?”, he’ll let them speak up.
He realizes that some days, it’s easier for his s/o to talk to strangers, and some days it’s absolutely impossible– he can usually tell by the way they’re acting. In a crowded area, if they’re slightly wide-eyed, and withdrawn, he’ll gladly take the reigns while they catch their breath.
You can guarantee he’ll always hold their hand as a form of support! It’s always easier for his s/o to walk through life with someone steady to rely on. Sometimes, if it’s real rough for his s/o, he’ll lead them off to a more secluded area for them to recharge and collect themselves.
