The Coventry Tapestry, St. Mary’s Guildhall

This tapestry was created around 1500 in honor of a visit to Coventry from Henry VII and Elizabeth of York (detail). It may be the oldest tapestry in Britain, and it has been hanging on the wall it was made for for five hundred years. 

Also, people are recently thinking the guy in black and gold standing a bit behind Henry might be Richard III, because a) he stands out, b) he’s holding a coin which is like a Judas thing, c) he has a crooked finger, d) he used to be holding a snake that got picked out but you can still kinda see it, and e) he just looks kinda shifty.

(And I got to see this today for like thirty seconds because they were having a Christmas luncheon but they let me slip in for a moment because how many contemporary likenesses of Elizabeth of York do you know.)

(I keep seeing things on the interwebs that it’s supposed to be Margaret of Anjou, but the museum next door says Henry and Elizabeth, so who knows better, them or the interwebs)

While I absolutely agree that Lily Potter beat the shit out of snape when he joined the afterlife don’t forget Petunia Dursley.

Lily was estranged from her sister but still trusted her to take care of her son, who was found bleeding and crying on her doorstep after his parents were murdered. Only to find out that they hurt, starved, isolated, lied to, and locked in both a cupboard and then a room with bars on the window the son she died to protect so he could have a better life? I don’t care what the deleted scene said about petunia being sad lily died when she gets to the afterlife it is round two of lily potter MMA smackdown

The worst part is that Lily could 100% have adopted and loved Dudley if Petunia and Vernon had died.
